The purpose of this study was to investigate the difference between two modes of teaching listening comprehension, computer-assisted language learning (CALL) and traditional mode, to Iranian junior high school students. It also aimed to investigate the role of teacher in CALL class. The study was an empirical one, which employed quantitative research methods. The data were collected from two classes including 60 female students studying in grade 8 in junior high schools in Dezful. These two classes were assigned as CALL group (30 students) and traditional group (30 students). The class of CALL was held at the computer site in Maktab Zeinab junior high school and the traditional group received instruction in a conventional way in Bideli junior high school. Two classes were taught by the same teacher and covered the same materials in their weekly four-hour listening lesson over two months. The data came from listening test, pre- test, post-test and observation. The data was analyzed by descriptive statistics (mean and standard deviation) and T-test (paired sample t-test and independent sample t-test) was run. The results indicated a significant difference between the traditional and CALL modes. Therefore, it seems that the CALL mode is more efficient than the traditional in the improvement of students’ listening comprehension skill. Based on the observation, the researchers concluded that the nature of the EFL teacher’s role changed in CALL class when compared with the traditional class.

Abstract: Self-control helps junior high school students behave positively towards themselves and others. This study aims to test the effectiveness of the use of local wisdom in the cublak-cublak suweng game to the junior high school student self-control training. The research subjects were 8 junior high school students in Malang City using one group pretest-posttest design. Measurements used the Self-Control Scale and were analyzed by the Wilcoxon test and paired t-test. The results showed a significant difference in the improvement of junior high school students' self-control. Positive values of the cublak-cublak suweng game are internalized so that they can improve the management of their thoughts, emotions, and behavior. The suggestion given is more extensive testing of the same student characteristics.

THE EFFECTIVENESS OF REALITY COUNSELING TO OVERCOME ANXIETY EXPRESSING OPINIONS FOR JUNIOR HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS. This study aims to test the effectiveness of reality counseling to overcome the level of anxiety express opinions of students in junior high. This research uses pre experimental pre-test type post test one group design. The data analysis used is paired test of T-test, to see the change of anxiety level in experimental group between pretest and post test by looking at t table price at degrees of freedom (dk), that is the magnitude is N-1, and at a significant level α = 0,05 (95%) then we get t-table = 1,833, assuming if t count> t-table then Ha “received”. From the test results using T-Test proves that effective reality counseling in overcoming anxiety expressed the opinion of junior high school students. Because t arithmetic 16,628> t table 1,833 on the significant level α = 0,05, then Ha “accepted”. Based on the findings of the research, for the next researcher, with the findings of reality counseling implementation to overcome the level of anxiety to express the opinion of the students, should be an inspiration in doing further research by applying counseling with other therapies, especially in an effort to overcome the anxiety level express opinion to the students.

Computer a tireless tutor for students in minimum competency project. The Hampton City Schools Mathematics Department has initiated a project in which selected junior high school students are involved with a Computer Assisted Instruction (CAI) prog ram keyed to the Virginia Minimum Competency for Graduation Test. Approximately 75 students in each junior high school are receiving individualized classroom instruction, which includes approximate ly 25 minutes of CAI instruction weekly. The program allows the student who achieves success to advance to the next higher level and provides for review of pr e requisite material at a lower level for the unsuccessful student. The computer records for each student the CAI time and the ratio of correct responses to items attempted. The purpose of this study was to determine the increase in mathematical reasoning abilities of junior high school students using a constructivism approach assisted by animated videos on the comparison material of class VII MTsS Jabal Nur. The approach used in this research is a quantitative research approach with a quasi-experimental type of approach. The population in this study were all students of class VII consisting of 10 classes and the sample used was class VII-5 as the experimental class as many as 25 students and class VII-6 as the control class as many as 26 students. The experimental class students were taught using a constructivism approach assisted by animated videos, while the control class was taught using a scientific approach. The data was collected by giving a pretest-posttest and the data were analyzed using the t-test and obtained a result of 0.00. In accordance with the test criteria, the value in the sig column < 0.05 then is rejected. From the statistical significance of the t-test is 0.00 less than 0.05. Then is rejected, H_a is accepted. The results of the analysis of student responses to constructivism approach learning assisted by animated videos show that the overall average is in the very good category. This shows students that using a constructivism approach assisted by animated videos gets a positive response from students. The learning process using this approach can improve students ‘abilities in learning mathematics and can increase students’ desire to learn and student activity.
