Background: Most frequently performed gynaecological surgery is hysterectomy. The prevalence of hysterectomy varies within different regions. There are mainly two types of hysterectomies according to which part of uterus is removed. The main types of hysterectomy are total and subtotal or partial hysterectomy. The hysterectomy can be performed by three routes abdominal, laproscopic and vaginal hysterectomy. The main objective of our study is to know most common pathology and different age groups of the patients underwent hysterectomy. Materials and Methods: In this retrospective study was carried during period 6 months, at GCS medical college, hospital and research centre, Ahmedabad. Total 100 hysterectomy specimens were analyzed for histopathological lesions. We had taken the clinical and histopathological findings of these cases from the records of department of pathology, GCS medical college , hospital and research centre. Results: In our study of 100 cases, most common age group underwent hysterectomy was 40-49 years and least common age group was 20-29 years. Type of hysterectomy performed most commonly in this study was total abdominal hysterectomy with bilateral salpingoophorectomy. Most of lesions were seen in the myometrium 42 cases (42%), Endometrium 32 cases (32%), Cervix 16 cases (16%) and Ovary 10 cases (10%). Hysterectomy remains the widely used treatment modality.

Context: Most deaths caused by transfusion worldwide is due to transmission of infectious agents like Virus, Bacteria and Protozoa. The risk of disease transmission increases many fold if blood donor selection is inappropriate (such as blood from professional donor) and testing of all blood for transfusion is inadequate. Methods: The study was carried out in transfusion Medicine department of Dhaka Medical College Hospital from January to December 2009 to see the prevalence of HBV, HCV, HIV, Treponema pallidum and Malarial parasite among the donor. Results: The study was carried out on 21448 donors, among whom 4464 (20.81%) were voluntary and 16984 (79.19%) were relative donors. Among 21448 donors, 21081 (98.29%) were selected and 367 (1.71%) were rejected. Out of 21081 selected donors 4406 (20.9%) were voluntary donor and 16675 (79.1%) were relative donor. Out of 367 rejected 58 (15.8%) were voluntary and 309 (84.2%) were relative donor. On analyzing the 367 rejected cases, HBsAg positive 297 (80.93%), Anti HCV positive 38 (10.35%), Malarial Parasite positive 23 (6.27%), Treponema pallidum positive 9 (2.45%) and none found positive for HIV. Objective: This study was aimed to identify the distribution patterns of ABO and Rh-D blood group among the blood donor attending at transfusion medicine department DMCHin order to promote social awareness and safe blood transfusion among the population.Method: It was a cross sectional study conducted in the Department of Transfusion Medicine, Dhaka Medical College Hospital, Dhaka, from January to December 2014. After proper ethical consideration, a total of 39,512 blood donors were included in this study. They were selected irrespective of age and sex by systematic random sampling. ABO and Rh-D blood groups were determined by the antigen antibody agglutination test in our blood bank by standard tile techniques.Results: Among 39,512 blood donors male blood donors were 31,602(79.98%), female blood donors were 7,910(20.01%).14,817(37.5%) blood donor were identified as having blood group B, while 12,565 (31.8%) were blood group O, 8614( 21.80%) and3516( 8.9% )were blood group A and AB respectively.
