In the presented work on the basis of extrema on curves: efforts of resistance of draft, parameters of thin structure, metalgraphic structure depending on temperature and also numerous literary data on anomalies of physicomechanical properties of iron and staly transformation is declared at ~ 650 C. The research was conducted on samples from almost pure iron (0,008% C). An experiment (the metalgraphic research, the X-ray diffraction analysis, resistance to draft (Gleeble-3800) carried out through each 20 C.

Cu-3wt. %MoS2-7wt. %Mo and Cu-3wt. %MoS2 composites were prepared by repressing, re-sintering and vacuum hot pressing, respectively. Microstructures were characterized by optical metallographic microscope, EDS, SEM and X-ray diffraction analysis, respectively. The micro hardness, electric conductivity and density of samples were separately measured as well. Results show that the micro hardness of Cu-3wt. % MoS2-7wt. % Mo composites is about 33.3% higher than that of Cu-3wt. %MoS2 composites. The increase in micro hardness is attributed to the presence of Mo. The electric conductivity of Cu-3wt. %MoS2 and Cu-3wt. %MoS2-7wt. % Mo prepared by vacuum hot pressing were 80.6 % and 63.8% IACS, respectively, which is an increase compared with values of 80.2 % and 57.3% IACS of samples obtained by repressing and re-sintering.

The paper presents a study on the structure of AISI 420 steel after heat treatments. The experiments start with a spectral analysis for determination of percents for alloying elements. Based on obtained results was establish of heat treatments parameters, which can be applied on AISI 420 steel. By thermal processing can be influenced positive on structural modifications and implied on mechanical properties. Structural modifications were highlight by X-ray diffraction analysis.

Composites of bovine bone derived HA with 5 wt% and 10 wt% of TiO2 were sintered at different temperatures. Their characterization comprised measurements of density, microhardness, and compression strength together with SEM observations and X-ray diffraction analysis. Better densification behaviour was achieved at higher sintering temperatures. The highest microhardness value was measured in the samples sintered at 1300°C. The best compressive strengths of the samples containing 5% and 10% TiO2 were obtained after sintering at 1300°C and 1200°C, respectively.

In this study, hydroxyapatite (HA) material, obtained from calcinated bovine bone (BHA), was mixed with 0.25, 0.50, 1.00, and 2.00 wt% Li2CO3. The pressed pellets were sintered at various sintering temperatures between 900°C and 1300°C. Measurements of compression strength, microhardness, and density, along with SEM observation and X-ray diffraction analysis were performed. The experimental results showed that the samples with 0.25 and 0.50% Li2CO3 reached a maximum of densification and the highest values of compression strength and microhardness were achieved after sintering at 1300°C. The wetting effect of a Li2O-associated glassy phase was observed even from 900°C.

FeAl20Si20 (wt.%) powders prepared by mechanical alloying from different initial feedstock materials (Fe, Al, Si, FeAl27) were investigated in this study. Scanning electron microscopy, X-ray diffraction and nanoindentation techniques were used to analyze microstructure, phase composition and mechanical properties (hardness and Young’s modulus). Finite element model was developed to account for the decrease in measured values of mechanical properties of powder particles with increasing penetration depth caused by surrounding soft resin used for embedding powder particles. Progressive homogenization of the powders’ microstructure and an increase of hardness and Young’s modulus with milling time were observed and the time for complete homogenization was estimated.

Thermolysis of [8,8-(PMe2Ph)2-nido-8,7-PtCB9H11] in boiling toluene solution results in an elimination of the platinum centre and cluster closure to give the ten-vertex closo species [6-(PMe2Ph)-closo-1-CB9H9] in 85% yield as a colourles air stable solid. The product is characterized by NMR spectroscopy and single-crystal X-ray diffraction analysis. Crystals (from hexane-dichloromethane) are monoclinic, space group P21/c, with a = 903.20(9), b = 1 481.86(11), c = 2 320.0(2) pm, β = 97.860(7)° and Z = 8, and the structure has been refined to R(Rw) = 0.045(0.051) for 3 281 observed reflections with Fo > 2.0σ(Fo). The clean high-yield elimination of a metal centre from a polyhedral metallaborane or metallaheteroborane species is very rare.

Dinuclear rhodium(I) η2:η2-cycloocta-1,5-diene (series a) and η2:η2-norborna-2,5-diene (series b) complexes with μ-RCOO- ligands, where R is linear C21H43 (complexes 1a, 1b), CH2CMe3 (2a, 2b), 1-adamantyl (3a, 3b) and benzyl (4a, 4b), have been prepared and characterized by spectroscopic methods. Structures of complexes 2b, 3a and 4a were determined by X-ray diffraction analysis. Complexes prepared show low to moderate catalytic activity in polymerization of phenylacetylene in THF giving high-cis-transoid polymers, but they show only oligomerization activity in dichloromethane.
