<p><strong>Abstract:</strong> This study aimed to improve students’ writing performance in ESP subject by implementing Flipped Classroom and Collaborative activities. Classroom action research was applied as the method in this study was. According to the data obtained, 88,89% of the students experienced improvement at least 10 points compared to their initial writing product. Students active participation also improved which was shown by the average score that was above 3,0 points obtained from peer assessment rubric. Therefore, the combination of these two strategies was proven successful in improving students’ writing performance in ESP subject.</p><strong>Abstrak:</strong> Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kinerja menulis bahasa Inggris siswa sebagai mata pelajaran ESP dengan menerapkan kegiatan <em>Flipped Classroom</em> dan <em>Collaborative</em>. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah penelitian tindakan kelas. Menurut data yang diperol<strong>eh, 88,89% dari siswa mengalami </strong>peningkatan setidaknya 10 poin dibandingkan dengan produk penulisan awal mereka. Partisipasi aktif siswa juga mengalami peningkatan yang ditunjukkan oleh skor rata-rata di atas 3,0 poin yang diperoleh dari rubrik penilaian sejawat. Dengan demikian, kombinasi dari dua strategi tersebut terbukti berhasil meningkatkan kinerja menulis bahasa Inggris siswa sebagai mata pelajaran ESP.

The content of the Pre-service Primary Teacher Education Study Program of FKIP Untan has provided students with mastery of scientific substance in preparing thematic learning teaching materials for 2013 Curriculum. The study aimed to describe the ability of Primary teacher Education students to prepare thematic learning teaching materials for 2013 curriculum. The research was a qualitative descriptive study. The subjects of this study were students of the PPL Regular Program class 2017. The data source in this study was the teaching material documents constructed by students. The research procedure used the stages of planning, implementing, analyzing data, and writing reports. Data collection techniques used document study techniques with data collection tools in the form of teaching material documents. The research data analysis was carried out by following the data analysis flow developed by Miles and Hubberman (1992: 15-20). The analysis activity begins with data collection, data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion/verification. The ability of students to construct 2013 thematic learning teaching materials was very good. It can be seen from the percentage of results achieved, namely 87.50% (7 students) obtained scores in the range 81-100 and only 12.50 (1 student) scored in the range 61-80. For every aspect assessed, the average student ability was also good. It can be seen from the percentage achieved, namely 58.33% (7 aspects) obtained scores in the range 81-100 and 41.67 (5 aspects) obtained scores in the range 61-80.

Reality shock in pre-school and primary school teachers is a significant factor affecting beginning of careers of novice teachers. The purpose of the project of Ministry of Education Youth and Sports of the Czech Republic called ‘Preventing reality shock in future preschool and primary school teaches at the beginning of their career’is to prepare students of preschool and primary teacher education for the beginning of their teaching career and thus prevent reality shock once they become service teachers. One of the focuses of studies presented in the project covers topics related to health problems of children teachers will possibly have to cope with in their classes. The aim is to provide teacher education students with information, which can help them in their teaching practice. Setting relationship between health issues and education is important, as it raises awareness of possible impacts certain health conditions of children may have on their education. We want to focus on the problem from the perspective of teacher training. Keywords: Reality shock, preschool teacher education students, primary teacher education students, health conditions.

Learning angklung ensemble in music major is common, but learning angklung in the environment of student in Primary Teacher Education major is uncommon. This research aims at analyzing the culture of learning angklung in students not majoring in Music, but in Primary Teacher Education. The method used was qualitative method by giving some angklung materials to be studied and performed. During the learning process, the students were observed, then after the show they were assigned to fill the survey to strengthen the findings about their learning culture in studying angklung. The results of the study indicated that students in Primary Teacher Education had high motivation to learn angklung, but did not have sufficient knowledge in basic theory of music, and in practice they had a learning culture that tended to be less able to hold a commitment to learn in groups or work together to perfectly complete an angklung music composition.
