<p style="text-align: justify;">Most research has examined flipped learning within the context of face-to-face (F2F) instruction. However, previous research has not effectively explored the possibility of how online synchronous flipped learning influences pre-service teachers (PSTs) in teacher education programs during Coronavirus disease (COVID-19). Recognizing the gap in the literature, this paper explored three aspects of online synchronous flipped learning by understanding 1) PSTs' learner engagement, 2) self-directed learning, and 3) learner satisfaction in a Korean university. The data was collected from Korean PST's interviews, reflection notes, and course evaluations. The thematic analysis was used to analyze qualitative data sources. The study findings showed that PSTs favored a synchronous online FL because it encouraged them to engage in various collaborative activities through Zoom breakout sessions. Also, pre-class materials from online FL can positively enhance the PSTs' self-directed learning process. Based on these findings, this study provides suggestions on how to effectively implement online synchronous flipped learning in teacher education programs.</p>

Expeditious increase in population and industrialization has led to alarming rates of air pollution in all countries. However, developing economies have had to face a more adverse and severe impact. This had led to many changes in the day to day living of citizens. In this paper we have focused on the psychological process and predictors of migration intention of the people living in Hanoi, Vietnam. Two stratified random datasets of 475 people were used, and Bayesian analysis was performed on this dataset. We found out that the intent to move was negatively associated to the individual’s satisfaction with air quality. We also found that people who have family members that have fallen victim to a disease caused by air pollution are more likely to migrate. This paper discusses an important topic: immigration of the younger demographic, i.e. the Hanoi workforce, which may cause restrictions and hurdles in the city's urbanisation and development. The findings suggest that, if measures against air pollution are not taken, economic forces may be disrupted, posing a threat to urban growth. As a result, collaborative activities and steps need to be taken by the government to curb this unfortunate consequence.

Computer-mediated collaboration has long been a core research interest in CSCW and HCI. As online social spaces continue to evolve towards more immersive and higher fidelity experiences, more research is still needed to investigate how emerging novel technology may foster and support new and more nuanced forms and experiences of collaboration in virtual environments. Using 30 interviews, this paper focuses on what people may collaborate on and how they collaborate in social Virtual Reality (VR). We broaden current studies on computer-mediated collaboration by highlighting the importance of embodiment for co-presence and communication, replicating offline collaborative activities, and supporting the seamless interplay of work, play, and mundane experiences in everyday lives for experiencing and conceptualizing collaboration in emerging virtual environments. We also propose potential design implications that could further support everyday collaborative activities in social VR

Open Innovation (OI) research has covered various organizational forms in dimensions of durability (permanent versus temporary organizing) and organizational scope (intra- or inter-organizational). Inter-organizational forms - both temporary and permanent – are regarded mainly as modes of OI. However, these organizational forms also act as initiators of OI activities to extend knowledge transfer across the inter-organizational consortium borders, which is hardly researched. To address this gap, the research presented in this article develops an OI process for inter-organizational projects (IOP) as initiators of OI. The initial model is developed by action research with an IOP of museums and educational institutions implementing a series of hackathons. The model’s applicability is then evaluated for other IOPs by a survey, indicating the model’s suitability for practitioners. Findings point to the importance of collaborative activities for aligning the OI initiative with both individual partners’ and common project goals, while outbound activities are regarded least important despite the time-limitation of the project. The research is limited by its focus on the specific IOP environment of EU-funded projects and the small scope of the survey.

This review seeks to provide an alternative online platform for running an online writing class inside and outside the classroom. It focuses on Writeabout.com, which enables the integration of different modes of instruction, types of feedback, and collaborative activities that are necessary for providing an effective writing class. Its features allow teachers to create virtual classes and add students by using codes or importing from Google Classroom. The other features enable teachers to monitor the progress of each student’s writing and give both oral and written feedback synchronously and asynchronously. Writeabout.com provides some stimulating ideas to inspire students to start writing. This review also elaborates on the pedagogical applications of Writeabout.com inside and outside the classroom in a self-access context and for developing learner autonomy in writing.

Global cooperation is an integral component of global health research and practice. One Retinoblastoma World (1RBW) is a cooperative network of global treatment centers that care for children affected by retinoblastoma. The study aimed to determine the number, scope and nature of collaborations within 1RBW, and uncover how they are perceived to contribute towards improving retinoblastoma outcomes. A cross-sectional, mixed-methods egocentric network analysis was conducted. Treatment centers (n = 170) were invited to complete an electronic survey to identify collaborative activities between their institution (ego), and respective partners (alters). Network maps were generated to visualize connectivity. Key informants (n = 18) participated in semi-structured interviews to add details about the reported collaborations. Interviews were analysed through inductive thematic analysis. Surveys were completed by 56/170 (33%) of 1RBW treatment centers. Collectively, they identified 112 unique alters (80 treatment centers; 32 other organizations) for a total network size of 168 nodes. Most collaborations involved patient referrals, consultations and twinning/capacity building. Interviews identified four main themes: conceptualization of partnership; primary motivation for collaborations; common challenges to collaboration; and benefits to partnership. There is extensive global collaboration to reduce global retinoblastoma mortality, but there is room to expand connectivity through active efforts to include actors located at network peripheries.

The biological approach to culture focuses almost exclusively on processes of social learning, to the neglect of processes of cultural coordination including joint action and shared intentionality. In this paper, we argue that the distinctive features of human culture derive from humans' unique skills and motivations for coordinating with one another around different types of action and information. As different levels of these skills of ‘shared intentionality’ emerged over the last several hundred thousand years, human culture became characterized first by such things as collaborative activities and pedagogy based on cooperative communication, and then by such things as collaborative innovations and normatively structured pedagogy. As a kind of capstone of this trajectory, humans began to coordinate not just on joint actions and shared beliefs, but on the reasons for what we believe or how we act. Coordinating on reasons powered the kinds of extremely rapid innovation and stable cumulative cultural evolution especially characteristic of the human species in the last several tens of thousands of years. The aim of this study is to examine how collaborative skills can be developed among secondary school pupils using digital tools (Word online, Adobe Spark Video) in the language classroom. Several types of data were collected: semi-structured interviews with teachers and learners, and observation of collaborative activities in the language classroom (video recordings, research log, observation notes, etc.). The case studies show different collaborative activities, which fall into three categories: coordination, articulation, and production. The analysis suggests that many factors can have an impact on collaboration between students, and this paper focuses on one in particular: digital tools. The findings revealed that digital tools can support collaboration if they meet the specific needs of the task (synchronous collaboration, asynchronous collaboration, or no collaboration) and its accessibility for the pupils (one tool for the group, one tool per student). Moreover, the analysis highlights the need to provide techno-pedagogical training (Stockwell & Hubbard, 2013) to the pupils so that they are able to use the tool efficiently in collaborative activities.

PENYULUHAN TENTANG MENULIS KARYA ILMIAH BAGI GURU GURU SDN GUGUS VI KECAMATAN GERUNG LOMBOK BARAT TAHUN 2021ABSTRAKPenulisan karya tulis ilmiah merupakan suatu hal yang wajib bagi guru, namun masih banyak guru yang belum melaksanakan hal tersebut. Untuk mengatasi hal tersebut, maka perlu dilakukan suatu kegiatan kolaborasi antara pihak sekolah dengan instansi pendidikan, khususnya perguruan tinggi dalam bentuk kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat. Kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk memberikan penyuluhan tentang bagaimana cara menulis karya tulis ilmiah bagi guru-guru SDN gugus VI Kec. Gerung. Metode pelaksanaan kegiatan pengabdian ini menggunakan tahap koordinasi, observasi, komunikasi dan sosialisasi. Pelaksanaan kegiatan pengabdian ini dilakukan pada masa pandemi Covid-19 sehingga pelaksanaan harus dilakukan menggunakan protokol kesehatan 3M. Materi yang disampaikan pada kegiatan pengabdian ini adalah teknik menemukan permasalahan penelitian, ketatabahasaan karya ilmiah dan konsep penulisan karya ilmiah. Kegiatan ini berlangsung dengan lancar dan dihadiri oleh 38 orang yang terdiri dari 6 tim pengabdi dan 32 orang guru. Hasil dari kegiatan pengabdian ini adalah guru mulai menyadari pentingnya menulis karya ilmiah untuk meningkatkan profesionalitas serta meningkatkan kemampuan siswa. Berdasarkan hasil wawancara dengan guru peserta kegiatan diperoleh informasi bahwa perlu diadakannya kegiatan lanjutan berupa pendampingan dalam penulisan karya ilmiah. Kata kunci: kegiatan PKM; karya tulis ilmiah; penyuluhan. ABSTRACTWriting scientific papers is mandatory for teachers, but there are still many teachers who have not implemented it. To overcome this, it is necessary to carry out collaborative activities between the school and educational institutions, especially universities in the form of community service activities. This community service activity aims to provide counseling on how to write scientific papers for SDN Cluster VI Kec. Gerung. The method of implementing this service activity uses the stages of coordination, observation, communication and socialization. The implementation of this service activity was carried out during the Covid-19 pandemic so it had to be carried out using the 3M health protocol. The material presented in this service activity is the technique of finding research problems, the grammar of scientific papers, and the concept of writing scientific papers. This activity ran smoothly and was attended by 38 people consisting of 6 service teams and 32 teachers. The result of this service activity is that teachers are starting to realize the importance of writing scientific papers to increase professionalism and improve students' abilities. Based on the results of interviews with teachers participating in the activity, information was obtained that further activities need to be held in the form of assistance in writing scientific papers. Keywords: PKM activities; scientific papers; counseling.
