Remote user authentication for Internet of Things (IoT) devices is critical to IoT security, as it helps prevent unauthorized access to IoT networks. Biometrics is an appealing authentication technique due to its advantages over traditional password-based authentication. However, the protection of biometric data itself is also important, as original biometric data cannot be replaced or reissued if compromised. In this paper, we propose a cancelable iris- and steganography-based user authentication system to provide user authentication and secure the original iris data. Most of the existing cancelable iris biometric systems need a user-specific key to guide feature transformation, e.g., permutation or random projection, which is also known as key-dependent transformation. One issue associated with key-dependent transformations is that if the user-specific key is compromised, some useful information can be leaked and exploited by adversaries to restore the original iris feature data. To mitigate this risk, the proposed scheme enhances system security by integrating an effective information-hiding technique—steganography. By concealing the user-specific key, the threat of key exposure-related attacks, e.g., attacks via record multiplicity, can be defused, thus heightening the overall system security and complementing the protection offered by cancelable biometric techniques.

In the course of the digitization of production facilities, tracking and tracing of assets in the supply chain is becoming increasingly relevant for the manufacturing industry. The collection and use of real-time position data of logistics, tools and load carriers are already standard procedure in entire branches of the industry today. In addition to asset tracking, the technologies used also offer new possibilities for collecting and evaluating position and biometric data of employees. Thus, these technologies can be used for monitoring performance or for tracking worker behaviour, which can lead to additional burdens and stress for employees. In this context, the collection and evaluation of employee data can influence the workplace of the affected employee in the company to his or her disadvantage. The approach of Privacy by Design can help to benefit from all the advantages of these systems, while ensuring that the impact on employee privacy is kept to a minimum. Currently, there is no survey available that reviews tracking and tracing systems supporting this important and emerging field. This work provides a systematic overview from the perspective of the impact on employee privacy. Additionally, this paper identifies and evaluates the techniques used with regard to employee privacy in industrial tracking and tracing systems. This helps to reveal new privacy preserving techniques that are currently underrepresented, therefore enabling new research opportunities in the industrial community.

This article examines the contested terrain of protecting or providing biometric data in the workplace. Through a major case study in Australia, a decision to terminate employment on the grounds of non-consent for biometric data to be collected was overturned through the legislative system. The case is important in that it highlights the increased impetus to collect such data and the arbitrary nature of legal protection. However, the results of this significant case do provide improved clarity and guidance on the usage, collection, storage and management of biometric data. It also signals to management the need to understand employees’ rights and their own obligations around the informational privacy of employees.

Purpose of the study: The paper proposes a secure system of voting using UIDAI Data and implementing IoT to save a copy of the voting statistics via VMAC encryption. Methodology: The paper proposes a secure system which will utilize the Aadhar database along with the Electronic Voting Machine units, to authenticate voters by bio-metric means which will be synchronized by Internet of Things. After successful casting of vote, two sets of voting statistics will be stored in the local polling station as well as a centralized register respectively; through a cascade of servers. These will be secured from virtual third-party vulnerability by VMAC encryption. Finally, an impenetrable system of voting can be established by the above method. Applications of this study: If the proposed system of voting is practically implemented, then a proper consensus can be obtained by avoiding poll-day violence. Furthermore, if UIDAI data is used then the voter’s authenticity is also verified. Novelty/Originality of this study: The use of biometric data, as well as storage of a second set of data using VMAC encryption to a secondary storage site.

The existing stand-alone multimedia machines and online multimedia machines in the market have certain deficiencies, so they cannot meet the actual needs. Based on this, this research combines the actual needs to design and implement a multi-media system based on the Internet of Things and cloud service platform. Moreover, through in-depth research on the MQTT protocol, this study proposes a message encryption verification scheme for the MQTT protocol, which can solve the problem of low message security in the Internet of Things communication to a certain extent. In addition, through research on the fusion technology of the Internet of Things and artificial intelligence, this research designs scheme to provide a LightGBM intelligent prediction module interface, MQTT message middleware, device management system, intelligent prediction and push interface for the cloud platform. Finally, this research completes the design and implementation of the cloud platform and tests the function and performance of the built multimedia system database. The research results show that the multimedia database constructed in this paper has good performance.

This paper briefly introduces Internet of Things(IOT) as a intellectual connectivity among the physical objects or devices which are gaining massive increase in the fields like efficiency, quality of life and business growth. IOT is a global network which is interconnecting around 46 million smart meters in U.S. alone with 1.1 billion data points per day[1]. The total installation base of IOT connecting devices would increase to 75.44 billion globally by 2025 with a increase in growth in business, productivity, government efficiency, lifestyle, etc., This paper familiarizes the serious concern such as effective security and privacy to ensure exact and accurate confidentiality, integrity, authentication access control among the devices.

Blockchain is considered to be a disruptive core technology. Although many researchers have realized the importance of blockchain, but the research of it is still emerging. It is the record-keeping technology behind bitcoin and is one of the hottest and fastest growing skills in the IT sector today. It serves as an immutable ledger which allows transactions to take place in a decentralized man Blockchain-based applications are rising up, covering numerous fields including finance, healthcare, product management, Internet of Things (IoT), and many more. However, there are still some challenges of blockchain technology such as scalability and security problems which need to be overcome. This paper comprises of a comprehensive study of Blockchain technology. We have included here a deep dive into how blockchains work, its architecture, consensus and various applications. Furthermore, technical challenges are briefly listed.
