This article explores the specification of ‘Umdah al-Muhtājīn, a monumental work in Shattariah Sufi order taught which was developed by the prominent Nusantara ulama Shaykh Abdurrauf as-Singkili. This study reveals a close relationship between Shattariah Sufi order in Indonesia and Abdurrauf, as the teacher and leader of this Sufi order, and between the work and Shattariyah Sufi order. It is revealed that the content of ‘Umdah al-Muhtājīn and specification of Syattariyah Sufi order have very common basic knowledge foundations. Therefore, before joining any Sufi order, one must have sufficient Islamic knowledge about Sufi and should learn its specific practices. The information on knowledge chain (sanad ilmu) and teacher chain in the practice of this Sufi order discloses that ‘Umdah is the basic guideline for followers and practices of Syattariyah Sufi order.

Education of social evils prevention skills for students at high schools in Bao Loc city, Lam Dong province in recent years has been implemented and implemented with the best results. High schools organized through integrated classroom subjects; through out-of-class-time educational activities…Students were initially equipped with basic knowledge and skills on social evils prevention and control. However, the effectiveness of educational activities has not been as expected, the applicability is still low, the participation of the coordinating forces is lack of consistency and coherence, somewhere in the educational environment is not the safety and health real for students. Based on the principles of proposing solutions, the author has proposed 6 educational management solutions for social evils prevention skills for students in high schools in Bao Loc city, Lam Dong province. in the current industrial revolution 4.0. These solutions all have a close relationship, mutual impact are suitable with the actual conditions of the schools and are appreciated through the testing process.

In general, studies about tariqa have put more emphasis on aspects related to ritual teachings and spiritual experience of the Sufi leaders. Little has been studied so far about how teachings of a Sufi order are related to cosmological concepts. This paper aims to analyze the cosmological concepts that are taught in the teachings of the Naqshbandi Sufi order in the district of Pauh, the city of Padang, West Sumatera. Data for this research are gathered through interviews, observation and documentation. These data are then analyzed with content analysis method. The research find that the Naqshbandi order perceives the notion of sharia as one that is intimately related with divine revelation and the universe’s law of order, a holistic approach that regards deeds of a sālik (a Sufi traveler) as part of the cosmic order. The existing seven types of sharia law outline seven layers of heaven and earth. Thus, a mystic attainment of martabah hakikat (degree of reality) represents seven layers of heaven and earth, which are manifested through amaliah lathāif (inner ‘worship’ rituals) - all of which are attributed to internal parts of the human soul, such as brain, heart, spleen, liver, lungs and all internal parts of the human physical body. Within the Naqshbandi Sufi order, all sālik aredevised to be able to attain close relationship with God, and to become an imagery of human’s mystical potentials in their everyday lives’ activities.

The solution strategies of preschool children solving mental-rotation tasks were analyzed in two studies. In the first study n = 111 preschool children had to demonstrate their solution strategy in the Picture Rotation Test (PRT) items by thinking aloud; seven different strategies were identified. In the second study these strategies were confirmed by latent class analysis (LCA) with the PRT data of n = 565 preschool children. In addition, a close relationship was found between the solution strategy and children’s age. Results point to a stage model for the development of mental-rotation ability as measured by the PRT, going from inappropriate strategies like guessing or comparing details, to semiappropriate approaches like choosing the stimulus with the smallest angle discrepancy, to a holistic or analytic strategy. A latent transition analysis (LTA) revealed that the ability to mentally rotate objects can be influenced by training in the preschool age.

Mental speed (MS) and sustained attention (SA) are theoretically distinct constructs. However, tests of MS are very similar to SA tests that use time pressure as an impeding condition. The performance in such tasks largely relies on the participants’ speed of task processing (i.e., how quickly and correctly one can perform the simple cognitive tasks). The present study examined whether SA and MS are empirically the same or different constructs. To this end, 24 paper-pencil and computerized tests were administered to 199 students. SA turned out to be highly related to MS task classes: substitution and perceptual speed. Furthermore, SA showed a very close relationship with the paper-pencil MS factor. The correlation between SA and computerized speed was considerably lower but still high. In a higher-order general speed factor model, SA had the highest loading on the higher-order factor; the higher-order factor explained 88% of SA variance. It is argued that SA (as operationalized with tests using time pressure as an impeding condition) and MS cannot be differentiated, at the level of broad constructs. Implications for neuropsychological assessment and future research are discussed.
