In this article, according to the real-time and accuracy requirements of advanced vehicle-assisted driving in pedestrian detection, an improved LeNet-5 convolutional neural network is proposed. Firstly, the structure of LeNet-5 network model is analyzed, and the structure and parameters of the network are improved and optimized on the basis of this network to get a new LeNet network model, and then it is used to detect pedestrians. Finally, the miss rate of the improved LeNet convolutional neural network is found to be 25% by contrast and analysis. The experiment proves that this method is better than SA-Fast R-CNN and classical LeNet-5 CNN algorithm.

The implementation of face recognition technique using CCTV is able to prevent unauthorized person enter the gate. Face recognition can be used for authentication, which can be implemented for preventing of criminal incidents. This re-search proposed a face recognition system using convolutional neural network to open and close the real-time barrier gate. The process consists of a convolutional layer, pooling layer, max pooling, flattening, and fully connected layer for detecting a face. The information was sent to the microcontroller using Internet of Thing (IoT) for controlling the barrier gate. The face recognition results are used to open or close the gate in the real time. The experimental results obtained average error rate of 0.320 and the accuracy of success rate is about 93.3%. The average response time required by microcontroller is about 0.562ms. The simulation result show that the face recognition technique using CNN is highly recommended to be implemented in barrier gate system.

Non-intrusive load monitoring (NILM) is an effective way to achieve demand-side measurement and energy efficiency optimization. This paper studies a method of non-intrusive on-line load monitoring under a high-frequency mode of electric data acquisition, which enables the NILM to be automated and in real-time, including the short-term construction of a dynamic signature library and continuous on-line load identification. Firstly, in the short initial operation phase, load separation and category determination are carried out to construct the load waveform library of the monitoring user. Then, the continuous load monitoring phase begins. Based on the data of each user’s signature library, the decomposition waveforms are classified by convolutional neural network models that are constructed to be suitable for each signature library in order to realize load identification. The real-time power consumption status of the load can be obtained continuously. In this paper, the electricity data of actual users are collected and used to perform the experiments, which show that the proposed method can construct the load signature library adaptively for different users. Meanwhile, the classification of the convolutional neural network model based on a library constructed in actual operation ensures the real-time and accuracy of load monitoring.

This paper presents a self-driving car using low cost convolutional neural network based platform. The project replicates the real autonomous vehicle/car into a small scaled remote controlled (RC) car. The CNN (convolutional neural network) provides a high accuracy prediction. A small camera is mounted on the RC car for capturing real time video feed to firstly train and then to predict the direction. The camera provides video feed to the input layer of the CNN that has hidden layers, that analyzes and compute the data to predict the output from an output layer that tells rc car to move in predicted direction
