Abstract Pesticides, as Temephos and Roundup, and surfactants, like Sodium Dodecyl Sulfate (SDS), when dicharged into the environment, are harmful to non-target wildlife, especially fish. To evaluate the effects of those chemicals alone and their binary combinations, we assessed the histological alterations in Danio rerio gills after 15 days of exposure to Temephos (1ppm), Roundup (10ppm), SDS (2ppm), SDS plus Temephos (2ppm+1ppm), SDS plus Roundup (2ppm+10ppm) and Temephos plus Roundup (1ppm+10ppm). Hyperplasia, a regressive change, was significant in all exposed groups. The progressive change, complete fusion of lamellae, was significantly intensive in Roundup plus Temephos group. Regarding to circulatory disturbances, vascular congestion was significant intensive in SDS group, while severe aneurysm was observed in Roundup group. Although xenobiotics in the blend are biologically complex, mainly for long periods, combinatorial exposure incremented only complete lamellar fusion. Our results reinforce the rationalization of indiscriminate use of those compounds alone or in combination.

SummaryCongenitally abnormal fibrinogen Osaka III with the replacement of γ Arg-275 by His was found in a 38-year-old female with no bleeding or thrombotic tendency. Release of fibrinopeptide(s) by thrombin or reptilase was normal, but her thrombin or reptilase time in the absence of calcium was markedly prolonged and the polymerization of preformed fibrin monomer which was prepared by the treatment of fibrinogen with thrombin or reptilase was also markedly defective. Propositus' fibrinogen had normal crosslinking abilities of α- and γ-chains. Analysis of fibrinogen chains on sodium dodecyl sulfate-polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis (SDS-PAGE) in the system of Laemmli only revealed the presence of abnormal γ-chain with an apparently higher molecular weight, the presence of which was more clearly detected with SDS-PAGE of fibrin monomer obtained by thrombin treatment. Purified fragment D1 of fibrinogen Osaka III also seemed to contain an apparently higher molecular weight fragment D1 γ remnant on Laemmli gels, which was digested faster than the normal control by plasmin in the presence of [ethy-lenebis(oxyethylenenitrilo)]tetraacetic acid (EGTA).

Introduction. One of the worst complication of different surgical diseases of abdominal cavity organs and of performed, on that regard, operational interventions, are intestinal festulas including without limitation deodenum fistulas. Longterm experience of surgical treatment of patients with unformed duodenal and high enteric fistulas show that it is feasible to have a clear surgical tactics with account of location level and type of fistulas, their quantity, volume of sarcous reduction, peritonitis and multi-organ failure syndrome. In this regard, the objective of this research is to find optimal surgical tactics and to determine the most effective method of treating duodenum fistulas of various causation.Materials and methods. Experimental work was carried out under conditions of experimentally formed intestinal fistula in rabbits of “Shinshilla” breed. After formation of fistula the animals were divided into 3 groups based on the method of removing artificially installed duodenal fistula: sealing through Albert — Schmieden — Lembert suture without fastening of suture line; sealing through fastening of intestinal suture with biological surgical glue; sealing through fastening with swine dermal collagen. Mechanical constancy of the sutures was measured with pneumocompression of sealed intestinal tract areas as well as with morphological study of surgical wound edges.Results. The results of histological study show that experiments with application of bio-implant demonstrated less vascular congestion and interstitial swelling. Phologistic infiltration also responded more efficiently both quantitatively (manifestation rate) and qualitatively (quick change of cell elements) in the group that used bio-implant.Conclusion. Results of morphological studies and pneumocompression data under modelling of duodenal fistulas in experimental animals show that application of bio-implant helps to earlier restore microcirculatory abnormality.

The solubility of chlorophenols as affected by surfactant was investigated. Three kinds of surfactant, sodium dodecyl sulfate, Triton X-100, and Brij 35, were utilized. The solubilization of chlorophenols by surfactant follows the order of 2,4,6-trichlorophenol > 2,4-dichlorophenol > 2,6-dichlorophenol > 2-chlorophenol; and the critical micelle concentration is an important index. The adsorption reactions of 2,4-dichlorophenol and 2,4,6- trichlorophenol onto hydrous montmorillonite in the presence of surfactant were examined. The presence of surfactant decreased the adsorption of chlorophenols significantly. The roles of hydrophobicity of chlorophenols in solubilization and adsorption behaviors are discussed.

Different submicellar solubilization mechanisms of two systems, Triton X-100/tetradecane and sodium dodecyl sulfate (SDS)/butyl methacrylate, are revealed on the molecular scale by 1H NMR spectroscopy and 2D diffusion ordered spectroscopy (DOSY).
