To handle indeterminate and incomplete data, neutrosophic logic/set/probability were established. The neutrosophic truth, falsehood and indeterminacy components exhibit symmetry as the truth and the falsehood look the same and behave in a symmetrical way with respect to the indeterminacy component which serves as a line of the symmetry. Soft set is a generic mathematical tool for dealing with uncertainty. Rough set is a new mathematical tool for dealing with vague, imprecise, inconsistent and uncertain knowledge in information systems. This paper introduces a new rough set model based on neutrosophic soft set to exploit simultaneously the advantages of rough sets and neutrosophic soft sets in order to handle all types of uncertainty in data. The idea of neutrosophic right neighborhood is utilised to define the concepts of neutrosophic soft rough (NSR) lower and upper approximations. Properties of suggested approximations are proposed and subsequently proven. Some of the NSR set concepts such as NSR-definability, NSR-relations and NSR-membership functions are suggested and illustrated with examples. Further, we demonstrate the feasibility of the newly rough set model with decision making problems involving neutrosophic soft set. Finally, a discussion on the features and limitations of the proposed model is provided.

In the present paper, we introduce some new notions on ordered semigroup. In fact, notion of a convex soft set in an ordered semigroup is introduced, and its basic properties are investigated. Moreover, we consider a characterization of a convex soft set. Furthermore, relations between a convex soft set and an int-soft [Formula: see text]-ideal (or, int-soft [Formula: see text]-ideal) are studied. Finally, int-soft [Formula: see text]-ideals (or, int-soft [Formula: see text]-ideals) generated by an ordered soft point are established.

Interval-valued fuzzy soft set theory is a powerful tool that can provide the uncertain data processing capacity in an imprecise environment. The two existing methods for decision making based on this model were proposed. However, when there are some extreme values or outliers on the datasets based on interval-valued fuzzy soft set for making decisions, the existing methods are not reasonable and efficient, which may ignore some excellent candidates. In order to solve this problem, we give a novel approach to decision making based on interval-valued fuzzy soft set by means of the contrast table. Here, the contrast table has symmetry between the objects. Our proposed algorithm makes decisions based on the number of superior parameter values rather than score values, which is a new perspective to make decisions. The comparison results of three methods on two real-life cases show that, the proposed algorithm has superiority to the existing algorithms for the feasibility and efficiency when we face up to the extreme values of the uncertain datasets. Our proposed algorithm can also examine some extreme or unbalanced values for decision making if we regard this method as supplement of the existing algorithms.

The basic idea underneath the generalized intuitionistic fuzzy soft set is very constructive in decision making, since it considers how to exploit an extra intuitionistic fuzzy input from the director to make up for any distortion in the information provided by the evaluation experts, which is redefined and clarified by F. Feng. In this paper, we introduced a method to solve decision making problems using an adjustable weighted soft discernibility matrix in a generalized intuitionistic fuzzy soft set. We define the threshold functions like mid-threshold, top-bottom-threshold, bottom-bottom-threshold, top-top-threshold, med-threshold function and their level soft sets of the generalized intuitionistic fuzzy soft set. After, we proposed two algorithms based on threshold functions, a weighted soft discernibility matrix and a generalized intuitionistic fuzzy soft set and also to show the supremacy of the given methods we illustrate a descriptive example using a weighted soft discernibility matrix in the generalized intuitionistic fuzzy soft set. Results indicate that the proposed method is more effective and generalized over all existing methods of the fuzzy soft set.

Platinum-containing drugs such as cisplatin and carboplatin are routinely used for the treatment of many solid tumors including squamous cell carcinoma of the head and neck (SCCHN). However, SCCHN resistance to platinum compounds is well documented. The resistance to platinum has been linked to the activity of divalent transporter ATP7B, which pumps platinum from the cytoplasm into lysosomes, decreasing its concentration in the cytoplasm. Several cancer models show increased expression of ATP7B; however, the reason for such an increase is not known. Here we show a strong positive correlation between mRNA levels of TMEM16A and ATP7B in human SCCHN tumors. TMEM16A overexpression and depletion in SCCHN cell lines caused parallel changes in the ATP7B mRNA levels. The ATP7B increase in TMEM16A-overexpressing cells was reversed by suppression of NADPH oxidase 2 (NOX2), by the antioxidant N-Acetyl-Cysteine (NAC) and by copper chelation using cuprizone and bathocuproine sulphonate (BCS). Pretreatment with either chelator significantly increased cisplatin's sensitivity, particularly in the context of TMEM16A overexpression. We propose that increased oxidative stress in TMEM16A-overexpressing cells liberates the chelated copper in the cytoplasm, leading to the transcriptional activation of ATP7B expression. This, in turn, decreases the efficacy of platinum compounds by promoting their vesicular sequestration. We think that such a new explanation of the mechanism of SCCHN tumors’ platinum resistance identifies novel approach to treating these tumors.
