Gambaran Proses Putus Cinta  pada Wanita Dewasa Muda di Jakarta:  Sebuah Studi Kasus

The end of an intimate relationship is a common incident in pre-marital young adult relationship. Hence, there are only a few literatures that explain this phenomenon. Therefore, this article is made to explain the definition, effect, individual differences and theoretical model explaining relationship dissolution, especially in young adult woman ini Indonesia. Theoretical review is used to analyze one case of young adult woman in Jakarta seeking for professional help in a Psychology Clinic. Method used to analyze data is qualitative, phenomenology with Interpretative Phenomenological Analysis (IPA) technique. Data are gathered with semi structured, open-ended and non-directive questions. The result of this study is the respondent going through the process of "making-confiding account" and griefing process with the passing of counseling. Theoretical understanding of the implications of the breakup on the practice of clinical psychology will also be addressed in the discussion.

With the increase in intermediaries in the online marketplace for lodging accommodations, such as Airbnb, Vacation Rental by Owner, Home Away, and Flip Key, opportunities for consumers to book lodging accommodations and for home owners to rent out their own homes, condominiums, and bedrooms are growing. While some research has investigated travelers’ motivations for using these services, little work has addressed the motivations and behaviors of owners. This qualitative study used interpretative phenomenological analysis to analyze data collected from interviews with current owners. Themes that emerged from the analysis, pertaining to the description of the providers, included identity, motivations, and drawbacks; while those related to the daily operations of the facility included advantages, features, and logistics. Ultimately, the study found that providers of alternative lodging are focused on respect between hosts and guests, developing meaningful relationships, and acquiring all the necessary resources to operate.

This study aimed to explore the construct of recovery from anorexia nervosa through the medium of weblogs, focusing on the benefits and barriers to the recovery process. Data were extracted from female ( n = 7) and male ( n = 1) participants’ textual pro-recovery weblogs, all of which were posted between 2013 and 2015 in the public domain. Data were analysed using interpretative phenomenological analysis. Three superordinate themes were identified: (1) barriers to recovery, (2) factors increasing the likelihood of recovery and (3) support. Results suggest supportive relationships, regaining control and recognising the consequences of the eating disorder benefit recovery, whereas public perceptions, the anorexia nervosa voice and time act as barriers to recovery. Out of eight participants, four described seeking professional help as part of their recovery, of which three believed their professional therapy experience helped aid recovery. Implications for anorexia nervosa treatment are discussed in detail.

Racism <i>is not </i>some static conception reflecting merely xenophobic feelings or hierarchical mindsets among individuals (Miles and Brown 2003). The term “racism,” in association with questions of democracy and individual opportunity, has risen into the primary weltanschauung of the American political and social psyches as represented by the September 12, 2019 Democratic Debate, political organizations, and political media. Given this weltanschauung, the purpose of this article is to seek additional knowledge toward coming to understand the perceptions of young adult Black men’s perceptions and political activations when prompted by the phenomenon of racism. Interpretative phenomenological analysis was engaged in the study of the YABMs to gain their reflective meaning-making and to protect against researcher biases. Key findings established that references to matters political involved the participants experiences with their communities, concerns with helping others in that community in a reciprocal manner, and the exclusionary practices found that challenges said community. These characteristics occur simultaneously as a meaning” of “the political” for each of the participants (Miller 1980). Theoretically, the extent to which these characteristics played into their perceptions of the political in-turn affect their decision-making and activations of political perceptions and behaviors. This theoretical conception was carried forward toward gaining knowledge of young adult Black men’s perceptions of political experiences serve as a source of data for this article; specifically, the data referencing matters of race (Crayton 2019).

Little is known about the coping strategies used by elite athletes suffering from mental health issues. Therefore, this study examined coping strategies implemented by elite athletes facing clinical depression. Semi-structured interviews were conducted with four elite athletes and analysed using Interpretative Phenomenological Analysis (IPA). Results present a broad picture of how elite athletes tried to cope with depression using a range of coping strategies. Among the different strategies highlighted, talking, seeking professional help and social support were particularly emphasized by the participants. Surprisingly, however, only one participant reported transferring the skills and strategies learned on her way to the top to many other aspects of her everyday life such as coping with her depression. Findings, therefore, suggest that athletes should be encouraged to transfer and make the most of the skills learned throughout their sport career to deal with their daily life. Future research perspectives and implications are discussed.
