In this study, a model for assessing urban water security is developed using an evaluation method of catastrophe theory. To overcome the defects of the traditional catastrophe evaluation method, two aspects of improvement are assessed. One is expanding the scope of application of the traditional catastrophe approach, i.e., new normalization formulae for five lower level indicators contained in the index at the higher level is proposed in theory. The other is solving the problem that the synthetic values are generally high and the differences are not obvious based on the theories of Cramer's Rule and Vander monde determinant. The assessment results in Wuhan city are in good agreement with the actual situation. The comparison between the results of the improved method and a fuzzy comprehensive evaluation method verifies the science and reliability of the developed method. Consequently, it is concluded that the improved method can be an effective tool for assessment of urban water security and provide a valuable reference for improving inadequacies in urban water security.

urban water resources value is a very complex system, it is composed of three main elements; nature, economy and society. In this paper, taken a city as an example, selecting water quality, water resources amount, density of population and national income as the evaluating elements, by useing fuzzy comprehensive evaluation method, the value of water resoueces of this city has been carried out. The results shows that water resources prices in this city is much higher than the present average water price. Therefore, it is necessary for the government to take mearsures to raise water use efficiency, strengthen environmemtal protection, so as to raise water resources value.

An indicator system is established for the suitability of projects linked to the increase/decrease in urban and rural construction land based on the field surveys for the old areas to be dismantled in three administrative villages such as Niulandian Village, Tianjiagou Village and Nanchongsi Village of Tianchi Town in Lezhi County of Sichuan Province, and the fuzzy comprehensive evaluation method is used to evaluate indicators. The analysis of evaluation results provides reference for the efficient implementation of projects linked to the increase/decrease in urban and rural construction land.

Based on the analysis of nine factors, which influencing mostly the sustainable attraction of Ecological Countryside Resort, this paper builds an index system for evaluating the attraction of Ecological Countryside Resort. Considering the attribute of the evaluation of sustainable attraction of ecological countryside resort, which is multi-gradation, multi-factor, and qualitative-and-quantitative-index-concentrating, this paper develops a multilevel fuzzy comprehensive evaluation method for assessing sustainable attraction of Ecological Countryside Resort. Thus, this paper provides a basis for improving the sustainable attraction of Ecological Countryside Resort, prolonging the life of Ecological Countryside Resort, optimizing the development and service marketing of Ecological Countryside Resort.
