Competitive mindsets and incentives for winning within our society generate an environment that forces athletes and organizations to continuously seek new opportunities to gain a competitive advantage. The Moneyball strategy is a great example of team’s thinking outside the box to improve their chances of winning. This strategy is when teams utilize analytics to determine which players hold the most value. In other words, which player will perform the best while also being minimally expensive to acquire. Building upon the Moneyball strategy, teams across sports today are using statistical data and metrics to analyze all facets of their respective sports in hopes of acquiring this edge. First implemented in baseball, other sports such as basketball and hockey are following in their footsteps while attempting to overcome the obstacle of having less data. The growth of analytics in hockey shows that these strategies are finding their way into the hockey environment.

The secure scalar product protocol is widely applied to solve practical problems such as privacy-preserving data mining, secure auction, secure electronic voting, privacy-preserving recommendation system, privacy-preserving statistical data analysis, etc.. In this paper, we propose an efficient multi-party secure computation protocol using Elliptic curve cryptography, which allows to compute the sum value of multi-scalar products without revealing about the input vectors. Moreover, theoretical and experimental analysis shows that the proposed method is more efficient than others in both computation and communication.

This paper offers the first overview of the Canadian animal cruelty investigations landscape. First, the public and private sector organizations responsible for enforcement are explained, followed by examination of the implications of this patchwork for reporting suspected cruelty. Key statistical data are presented about the types of issues and cases and investigator responses. Initial recommendations are then proposed, and the value of the animal harm spectrum is discussed, including how it can be mobilized to strengthen the operations of animal protection work and animal welfare policy across nations.

This research aims to look at the influence of Tax Knowledge, Tax Actionand Tax Compliance. Data collection techniques by disseminating questionnaires, while the data analyst method used is  inferenceal statistics,(inductive statistics  or  probability statistics),is a statistical technique used to analyze sample data and the results are applied topopulations (Sugiyono in Kalnadi 2013). In accordance with the hypothesis that has been formulated, then in this study the analysis of inferential statistical data is measured using  SmartPLS software  (PartialLeast Square)  ranging from model measurements (outermodels), the results of the study obtained a calculated  value  for Tax Knowledge (X1)is smaller  and sig t value for Tax Knowledge (X 1)  0.124  is greater than alpha   (0.05). Based on the results obtained then  receive  H0  and  reject  H1 for Tax Knowledge (X1). Thus, partially Tax Knowledge (X1)  has no positive and insignificant  effect on Tax Compliance (Y),  indicating Tax Knowledge (X1)does not have a positive impact in improving  Tax Compliance (Y). The results ofthe study obtained nilai tcalculated  for Tax Sanctions (X2)  of 2,759  greater than  sig  t value for Tax Sanctions (X2)  of  0.007  smaller than  alpha (0.05). Based on the results obtained, reject    H0  and  receive  H1. Thus partially Tax Sanctions (X2)have a positive and significant effect on Tax Compliance (Y), meaning tax sanctions (X2)have a real impact in improving tax compliance (Y).

AbstractPostseismic deformations continue to occur for a long period after major earthquakes. Temporal changes in postseismic deformations can be approximated using simple functions. Since the 2011 Tohoku-Oki earthquake, operating global navigation satellite system stations have been continuously accumulating a remarkable amount of relevant data. To verify the functional model, we performed statistical data processing on postseismic deformations due to this earthquake and obtained their spatiotemporal distribution. Moreover, we approximated the postseismic deformations over a relatively wide area with a standard deviation of residuals of 1 cm for approximately 10 years using a combined functional model of two logarithmic and one exponential functions; however, the residuals from the functional model exhibited a marked deviation since 2015. Although the pattern of postseismic deformations remained unaltered after the earthquake, a change in the linear deformation occurred from 2015 to date. We reduced the overall standard deviation of the residuals of > 200 stations distributed over > 1000 km to < 0.4 cm in the horizontal component by enhancing the functional model to incorporate this linear deformation. Notably, time constants of the functions were similarly applicable for all stations and components. Furthermore, the spatial distribution of the coefficients of each time constant were nonrandom, and the distribution was spatially smooth, with minute changes in the short wavelengths in space. Thus, it is possible to obtain a gridded model in terms of a spatial function. The spatial distributions of short- and long-period components of the functional model and afterslip and viscoelastic relaxation calculated using the physical model were similar to each other, respectively. Each time function revealed a connotation regarding the physical processes, which provided an understanding of the physical phenomena involved in seismogenesis. The functional model can be used to practical applications, such as discerning small variations and modeling for precise positioning. Graphical Abstract

The article pays great attention to the causes of fires that occur in motor vehicles. Statistical data indicate that fires that occurred in motor vehicles consistently occupy the second place in terms of quantity and material damage after fires that occurred in residential buildings. The investigation of fires related to the ignition of motor transport itself is quite complex. The article analyzes the causes of fires in motor vehicles. Some manufacturing defects of modern cars have been investigated. The statistics of fires in Russia are analyzed and presented. Certain features and directions of investigations of this category of criminal cases are considered.

Historically rich history of Armenian migration was supplemented in 2020-2021 by new social practices, including the return of migrants to their homeland during the restrictions in the first half of 2020, and new practices of quick decision-making on emigration in the fall and winter of 2020-2021. In this article, the impact of the pandemic and the development of adaptation strategies of reactive (forced), active (making a choice from the available options) and proactive (planning the prospects for self-realization, career and professional growth and development) types. These practices are considered based on the analysis of statistical data and on the basis of our own empirical research by the method of focused interviews among Armenian families.

The software was designed to process and conduct comparative analysis of Big medical statistical data. This software is easy to use. It allows to conduct the analysis of medical statistical indexes in dynamics, gives a fair assessment of the time-series tendencies, helps to compare time-series of the studied indexes and presents graphic display of the information. The software can be used by health-care institutions, high education institutions, health-related scientific research organizations, physical culture organizations and institutions of the Federal Service for Surveillance on Consumer Rights Protection and Human Wellbeing of the Russian Federation.

The main idea of the article is that modern technologies of sports and recreation direction in various variations are of importance for modern man. Based on the statistical data of various specialists, the population of Krasnodar has a decrease in activity in the spectrum of physical culture and health. Analysis of the data showed that women have a greater motivation for this direction, as they are more socialized and quickly adapt to various new directions in the fitness industry. The main purpose of the study is to identify factors that increase the activity of women in the process of engaging in physical culture and recreational activities for a certain period of time. The study group consisted of 14 women aged 20-35 years, regularly engaged in the proposed program "Resist-a-ball". At the end of the five-month period of classes, data were obtained, which, in comparison with the primary indicators of the students, made it possible to make a justification for
