Abstract Objective: To analyze the evidence available in the literature on harm reduction actions developed by primary healthcare. Method: Integrative literature review carried out in the databases MEDLINE, CINAHL, SCOPUS, Web of ScienceTM and LILACS. Results: Seventeen (17) primary studies published from 2008 to 2017 were included in this review. Care strategies for harm reduction included maintenance treatment with methadone, therapy with opioid agonists, needle and syringe distribution programs and the creation of rooms for supervised drug consumption. Health professionals were essential for consolidating inclusion strategies, possessing skills to listen without judgment and prejudice. Conclusion: Harm reduction care strategies have been disseminated in different countries and healthcare levels, aiming toward safe practice and quality, effective and risk-free care actions.

Primary healthcare waiting rooms have the potential to provide health-promoting environments to support healthy lifestyle behaviours such as smoking cessation, weight management and safe contraception. Passive interventions are cost-effective and continually available within an environment or setting, allowing individuals to interact, engage and learn about topics. The aim of this study was to undertake an integrative review to investigate the effectiveness of passive health-related waiting room interventions in improving healthy lifestyle behaviours, as well as precursors to behaviour change. The integrative review encompassed five phases: problem identification, literature search, data evaluation, data analysis and presentation of results. Quantitative, qualitative and mixed methods studies were included. Of the 9205 studies originally identified, 33 publications were included and grouped under four areas: knowledge about a health condition or behaviour, attitudes and intentions towards a health condition or behaviour, healthcare use and interactions, and health-related behaviours. Overall, the passive interventions had a general positive influence on knowledge, intentions, healthcare use and behaviours. Variable outcomes were reported regarding attitude towards a health topic. Few studies were assessed as both high quality and the highest suitability to assess effectiveness of interventions. Consideration of the clinical significance of improvements is warranted before implementation of future interventions. Overall, passive waiting room interventions appear to be effective in promoting healthy lifestyle behaviours.

Abstract The study aims to highlight the actions implemented by nurses in the childcare consultation and to analyze them in the light of the Brazilian Guidelines for Child Healthcare. This is an integrative review carried out in the databases: LILACS, PubMed, Web of Science and BDENF. Were selected 23 articles and three Brazilian Guidelines for Child Healthcare from the Brazilian Ministry of Health. There were two thematic areas: actions for health promotion and disease prevention, whose anthropometric evaluation constituted as more effective action, and actions related to the injuries treatment, configuring the children referral to specialties the most accomplished action by the nurse. It is concluded that the nurses’ practice does not meet the requirements of Brazilian guidelines, and although the childcare consultation is a powerful tool for the comprehensive care, it is fragmented and has gaps that can compromise the child's health. Keywords: Childcare; Nursing; Primary Healthcare; Nurse.
