Generalized stage IV, grade C periodontitis results in rapid bone destruction in the periodontium and can lead to early tooth loss. Scaling and root planing (SRP) complemented by systemic antibiotics, access surgery, regenerative techniques and implant placement are among the treatments used for patients with this condition. The aim of this article is to report a comprehensive periodontal treatment in a 23-year-old male who was referred to the periodontology department due to complaints of tooth mobility and gum infections diagnosed with generalized stage IV, grade C periodontitis according to the clinical, systemic, and family history features observed. Thorough non-surgical periodontal treatment consisting of scaling and root planing was provided, followed by a series of regenerative periodontal surgeries including guided tissue regeneration (GTR) and guided bone regeneration(GBR) to manage advanced bone defects. Six months after periodontal therapy, all implants were inserted using a one-stage approach and Six months later, they were restored with porcelain fused to metal crowns. During the one and two-year follow-ups, the teeth and implants did not show any signs of instability, attachment loss or bone loss. This case report shows that within the limitations of this study a successful outcome can be achieved with an early diagnosis and treatment involving elimination of infectious microorganisms and meticulous long-term maintenance combined with regenerative techniques and implant placement to restore the masticatory function and improve the quality of life for the patient. However further investigation and clinical studies are required to confirm these results. ABSTRACTAcute streptococcal gingivitis is an acute inflammation of the oral mucosa and also may be seen with the other oral diseases as aggressive periodontitis that is characterized by a considerable attachment loss over a relatively short period of time. Streptococcal infections of gingiva are seen rarely; also the origin of this gingival inflammation is occasionally different from that of routine plaque-associated gingivitis. The clinical features and treatment methods of these diseases are already reported in previous literatures. This case report describes a patient who presented with severe gingival inflammation and attachment loss that was diagnosed as an acute streptococcal infection associated with aggressive periodontitis. In this study a supportive treatment option was demonstrated based on these data and antacid treatment as adjunctive to the recommended treatment modalities was used for streptococcal gingivitis. SummaryBackground/Aim: A problem of congenitally missing lateral incisors is frequently encountered in dentistry, with several available treatment modalities, the choice depending on each case. Case Report: A young female patient with bilateral missing lateral incisors was in need for dental treatment for esthetics. She had spacing among the upper anterior teeth with class I molar relationship. Orthodontic space creation was carried out followed by two-piece mini dental implant placement. Two-stage protocol was followed. After osseointegration, implants were exposed. Healing collars were installed to allow mucosal healing. Closed tray implant level impression was taken. Zirconium crowns were chosen for optimum esthetic results. Conclusions: Mini-implants can be used successfully for restoring congenitally missing lateral incisors after space opening. Esthetic results can be enhanced using Zirconium crowns
