A Pd(II) complex with methyl 2-((1-(2,4-dioxochroman-3-ylidene)ethyl)amino)acetate was synthesized. The structures of both the ligand and Pd(II) complex were determined by elemental analysis, IR and NMR spectroscopy. Recrystallization of Pd(II) complex from DMF/water solution resulted in its hydrolysis and formation of dimethylamine-(2-((1-(2,4-dioxochroman-3-ylidene)ethyl)amino)acetato)palladium(II) complex, the structure of which was determined by elemental analysis, IR, 1H and 13C NMR spectroscopy, as well as X-ray analysis.

The reaction of closo-B10H102− with PtCl2(PPh3)2 in the presence of MeCOSH afforded the title platinaborane nido-7,7-(PPh3)2-7-PtB10H11-11-OC(O)Me (1), which has been characterized by IR and NMR spectroscopy, MS, elemental analysis, and single-crystal X-ray diffraction. In contrast to the known products having exo-polyhedral Pt-S-C-O-B ring(s) from the same reaction with Ph- COSH, compound 1 has a B-acetoxy group on the open PtB4 face of the nido-PtB10 cluster. The structure of 1 features both intramolecular/intermolecular C-H· · ·O hydrogen bonds and intramolecular C-H· · ·H-B dihydrogen bonds, which link the molecules into a 1-D chain structure.

Anew bidentate ligand butyl-(1-methyl-3-phenyl-propyl)-dithiocarbamate (bm?pdtc) was prepared, as the sodium salt. In the reaction of hexaaminecobalt(III) chloride with Nabm?pdtc, the corresponding tris[butyl-(1-methyl-3-phenyl-propyl)-dithiocarbamato]cobalt(III) [Co(bm?pdtc)3]?complex was prepared. The complex was characterized by elemental analysis, infrared, electronic absorption, 1H and 13C-NMR spectroscopy.

Ammonium acesulfamate, (NH4)C4H4NO4S, was prepared by the reaction of acesulfamic acid and ammonium carbonate in aqueous solution, and characterized by elemental analysis and 1H and 13C NMR spectroscopy. Its crystal and molecular structure was determined by single-crystal X-ray diffraction methods. The substance crystallizes in the orthorhombic space group Pnma with Z = 4 molecules per unit cell. The NH4+ ion generates medium to strong hydrogen bonds with the carbonylic oxygen, the iminic nitrogen and the sulfonyl oxygen atoms of the acesulfamate anion. The FTIR spectrum of the compound was also recorded and is briefly discussed.

This paper examines the synthesis of two new complexes of platinum(II/IV) ion, general formula [PtL2]Cl2 and [PtL2]Cl4, where L is 2-amino-5-methyl-4-phenylthiazole. The structures of the above mentioned compounds were determined by elemental microanalysis, infrared, 1H and 13C NMR spectroscopy.

The synthesis of butyl N-(3-chloropropyl)-(2S)-alaninate hydrochloride is reported here. The compound was characterized by elemental analysis, infrared, 1H and 13C NMR spectroscopy. The structure of butyl N-(3-chloropropyl)-(2S)-alaninate hydrochloride was confirmed by single-crystal X-ray analysis.

Complexes of Zn(II), Pd(II) and Pt(II) with 2?-[1-(2-pyridinyl)ethylidene ]oxamohydrazide (Hapsox) were synthesized and their structures were determined. All the complexes are of a neutral type with two apsox ligands coordinated to Zn(II) and one apsox ligand coordinated to Pd(II) or Pt(II). In each case, the polydentate was coordinated via pyridine and hydrazone nitrogens and ?-oxyazine oxygen, forming an octahedral geometry around Zn(II), and a square planar one around Pd(II) and Pt(II). The structure determination was performed by IR, 1H-NMR and 13C-NMR spectroscopy, and for the Zn(II) complex by X-ray structure analysis.

The reaction of 8 -trimethylsiloxyquinoline, 2 with PCl3, PhPCl2, and PhPF2 has furnished the corresponding 8 -quinolyl halophosphite derivatives, 3-5 . The synthesis of two metal complexes, 8 and 9, of 4 with Au(I) and Pt(II) is described. The new compounds were characterized by elemental analysis and by 1H and 31P NMR spectroscopy. A single crystal X-ray diffraction study of 4 has been conducted; a short intramolecular P ··· N contact (230.9 pm) and a long P-Cl bond (218.7 pm) were observed.

The reactions of the lithio-o-carborane Li2C2B10H10 with ClCH2CH2CH2Br were studied under various conditions. While the main product is the known exo-polyhedrally cyclized 1,2- (1,3-propanediyl)-o-carborane (2), the expected 3-chloropropyl-substituted carborane products 1- (ClCH2CH2CH2)C2B10H11 (3) and 1,2-(ClCH2CH2CH2)2C2B10H10 (4) can be obtained in a total yield of 22%. In the presence of CuCl, the same reaction proceeded rather slowly and gave compound 3and bis(o-carborane) (5) in small yields, with the recovery of the starting o-C2B10H12. Compounds 2- 4were characterized by means of IR and NMR spectroscopy and mass spectrometry, as well as by single-crystal X-ray diffraction.

In this study, chalcones were synthesis by condensing 2-acetylpyridine with aromatic aldehyde derivatives in dilute ethanolic potassium hydroxide solution at room temperature according to Claisen-Schmidt condensation. After that, new heterocyclic derivatives such as Oxazine, Thiazine and Pyrazol were synthesis by reaction between chalcones with urea, thiourea and hydrazine hydrate respectively scheme 1. All these compounds wrer characterization by FTIR, 1H-NMR spectroscopy and elemental analysis.
