Long-span and bifurcation tunnel engineering is not very common in underground engineering field. It is difficult to construct this complicated structure because of the numerous influencing factors. In order to find out the optimum construction method for long-span and bifurcation tunnel to guarantee construction security and stabilization of this project, six construction methods were compared and analyzed by using numerical simulation. The results show that: (1) The excavation of confluence segment and small interval tunnel can affect each other but the confluence segment is the crucial part of the whole project. (2) The vertical brace determines surrounding rock and preliminary support stabilization in confluence segment. (3) The central concrete between main tunnel and ramp tunnel is the key point to guarantee the construction security and stabilization of small interval tunnel. The above results certainly contribute to research and develop new types of construction methods for long-span and bifurcation tunnel engineering.

In the engineering project in Contemporary, Rapid construction is an advanced managing concept which core is fast. On the basis of the fuzzy risk, risk degree and fuzzy probability and risk analysis, this paper analyze the factors affecting rapid construction, and with different construction project factors fuzzy risk evaluation set is established. From the Angle of quantitative the risk analysis of hydraulic engineering in the influencing factors of construction schedule. On the impact of factors on construction schedule to different schemes are obtained quantitative values. We can choose the optimum construction scheme reduces risk.

Gansbaai fishing and pleasure craft harbour is situated approximately 160km east of Cape Town. Modifications and extensions were required to the existing breakwater as well as construction of an internal access mound. An investigation was commissioned into alternative construction methods and construction sequences for the modifications and extensions. The aim of the study forming the subject of the paper was to establish as accurately as possible the optimum sequence of construction for the various phases of the work and to establish the optimum construction methods to be adopted so that any damage to the work was minimised as construction proceeded. By means of a three dimensional hydraulic model, alternative construction methods and sequences were investigated under varying wave heights and sea conditions. Minimum wave heights and the sea direction causing damage or localised displacement of the elements of construction were studied.
