Database is important for any application and critical part of private and public cloud platforms. For compatibility with cloud computing we can follow architectures like three tier architecture in .Net Technologies such that database layer should be separate from user and business logic layers. There are some other issues like following ACID properties in databases, providing dynamic scalability by using Shared-disk Architecture and efficient multi-tenancy, elastic scalability, and database privacy.

Recently, many organizations and industries are using the cloud computing technologies for exchanging the resources and their confidential data. For this purpose, many cloud services are available and also provide the facility to categorize their users as private and public users for accessing their own data from private cloud and public cloud. The combination of these two clouds is called federated cloud which facilitates to allow both kinds of cloud users for accessing their own data on same cloud database. In this scenario, the authorization and authentication process is becoming complex task on cloud. For providing the facility to access their own data only from federated cloud, a new secured data storage and retrieval algorithm called AES and Triple-DES-based Secured Storage and Retrieval Algorithm (ATDSRA) are proposed for storing the private and public cloud user’s data securely on cloud database. Here, the TDES is used for encrypting the input data, data merging and aggregation methods were used for grouping the encrypted input data. Moreover, a new dynamic data auditing scheme called CRT-based Dynamic Data Auditing Algorithm (CRTDDA) is proposed for conducting the cloud data auditing over the federated cloud and also restricting the data access. The proposed new auditing mechanism that is able to protect the stored data from access violence. In addition, the standard Table64 is used for encryption and decryption processes. The experimental results of this work proves the efficiency of the proposed model in terms of security level.

Cloud computing is one of the emerging technologies that has an increasing impact on both private and public sectors. It represents an on-demand service model for delivering computing resources ranging from storage and data access, via computation and software provisioning. This chapter describes an application of Cloud Computing in home healthcare by introducing several use cases and application architecture based on the cloud. A comprehensive methodology is used to integrate security and privacy engineering process into the development lifecycle and to identify challenges for building security and privacy in the proposed cloud-based home healthcare system. Moreover, a functional infrastructure plan is provided to demonstrate the integration between the proposed application architecture with the cloud infrastructure. Finally, this chapter discusses several mitigation techniques putting the focus on patient-centric control and policy enforcement via cryptographic technologies, and consequently on digital rights management and attribute-based encryption technologies.

The main security and privacy issues of cloud computing as well as the related implications are addressed, and a general framework for achieving the goals is summarized. This chapter basically considers scientific and educational employment of a cloud as a particular instance of a public cloud and its security, and as a potentially specific issue, a request for a heavy minimization of the costs implied by security is pointed out. Consequently, the problem of minimization of the overheads implied by security/privacy mechanisms is addressed. The main security requirements are given as well as the main recommendations, providing a framework for the security management. As a particular issue, data protection is considered and significance of data access control and encryption are discussed. Accordingly, an illustrative approach for achieving lightweight and provable secure encryption is shown. The considered encryption is based on joint employment of cryptographic and coding methods.

Cloud computing is a rapidly growing technology due to its highly flexible uses and applications. It also has other features such as simplicity, quick data access and reduced data storage costs. Consequently, it has been widely used by many organizations. This widespread use of cloud computing among organizations causes many security issues. Moreover, cloud computing layers are likely to be jeopardized by many security risks such as privileged user access, data location, data segregation, and data recovery. This paper aims to prepare an ample debate of a literature review-based studies that provided important insights to researchers in the scope of security cloud computing. The researcher applied a relevant set of keywords. These keywords are limited to the title, abstract and keywords search archives published between 2010 and June 2017. The database search returned a total of 308 publications. In addition, we conducted backward-forward searches from the reference lists of relevant, quality previous works on the security framework in public cloud computing studies. Then, the researcher filtered the publications to only full text access articles that were written in English only. Finally, this study obtained a total of 53 publications. The findings of this paper address many important points such as authentication, data segregation, and encryption which are considered as the top concerns in security cloud computing. In addition, most of authentication layer is considered password as a prime criterion in determining authorizes user.

   The concept of implementing e-government systems is growing widely all around the world and becoming an interest to all governments. However, governments are still seeking for effective ways to implement e-government systems properly and successfully. As services of e-government increased and citizens’ demands expand, the e-government systems become more costly to satisfy the growing needs. The cloud computing is a technique that has been discussed lately as a solution to overcome some problems that an e-government implementation or expansion is going through. This paper is a proposal of a  new model for e-government on basis of cloud computing. E-Government Public Cloud Model EGPCM, for e-government is related to public cloud computing.
