AbstractNew records for twenty species of saproxylic tineid moths (Lepidoptera, Tineidae) from the Białowieża Forest (NE Poland) are presented. Most species were recorded on the basis of laboratory breeding of the adult moths from the sporocarps of wood-decaying fungi inhabited by the larvae. Some species were captured using barrier traps or were collected at light. One species, Dryadaula irinae (Savenkov, 1989), is recorded for the first time from Poland and three others, Nemaxera betulinella (Paykull, 1785), Nemapogon fungivorella (Benander, 1939) and Elatobia fuliginosella Lienig & Zeller, 1846, are recognized as new for the fauna of the Białowieża Forest. The current distribution in Poland of each species is briefly discussed, and some remarks on its biology are given

First report ofDryadaula caucasica(Zagulajev, 1970) from Central Europe and records of further rare tineids (Lepidoptera: Tineidae) in Białowieża Primeval ForestDryadaula caucasica(Zagulajev, 1970) (Lepidoptera: Tineidae: Dryadaulinae) is recorded for the first time in Central Europe. Two specimens were collected in Białowieża Forest, NE Poland, by rearing from the sporocarp of bracket fungus and by intercepting the adult moth with the use of a barrier trap. This record ofD. caucasicafrom Poland is the fourth known locality of this species, and is situated more than 1700 km the nearest other known location. Characteristics of the species' habitat, notes on its biology, and a distribution map are presented. New records ofAgnathosia mendicella(Denis & Schiffermüller, 1775),Montescardia tessulatellus(Zeller, 1846) andTriaxomera fulvimitrella(Sodoffsky, 1830) from Białowieża Forest are also given.

Acanthonus armatus Günther, 1878 is reported for the first time in the southwestern Caribbean region, off Colombia. Remote Operate Vehicle videos and towed camera still photographs captured 13 images of A. armatus between 2215 and 2564 m. These are the first records of the species in the Caribbean continental coast of Colombia, representing a range extension to the southwestern Caribbean region, since previous records are from the northeastern Caribbean. Some photos of the specimens and the current distribution of the species in the Caribbean region are provided and reviewed.

AbstractThe Białowieża Forest (BF) is one of the best-preserved lowland deciduous and mixed forest complexes in Europe, rich in diverse fungi. This paper summarizes what is known about the poroid fungi of the Polish part of the Białowieża Forest, based on literature data, a re-examination of herbarium materials, and the authors’ studies from 1990–2014. An annotated catalogue of polypores recorded in the forest is presented, including 80 genera with 210 species. All literature and herbarium records are enumerated, and 160 species are illustrated with color pictures. Fourteen species previously reported in the literature have uncertain status because they lack voucher specimens and were not confirmed in recent field studies. Antrodiella subradula (Pilát) Niemelä & Miettinen, previously known from Asia, is reported for the first time from Europe. Fourteen species are newly reported from the Białowieża Forest (mainly from Białowieża National Park), including 8 species with first records in Poland (Antrodia hyalina Spirin, Miettinen & Kotir., Antrodia infirma Renvall & Niemelä, Antrodiella subradula, Junghuhnia fimbriatella (Peck) Ryvarden, Postia folliculocystidiata (Kotl. & Vampola) Niemelä & Vampola, Postia minusculoides (Pilát ex Pilát) Boulet, Skeletocutis chrysella Niemelä, Skeletocutis papyracea A. David), and 6 species reported previously from other localities in Poland [Antrodiella faginea Vampola & Pouzar, Dichomitus campestris (Quél.) Domański & Orlicz, Loweomyces fractipes (Berk. & M. A. Curtis) Jülich, Oxyporus latemarginatus (Durieu & Mont.) Donk, Perenniporia narymica (Pilát) Pouzar, Phellinus nigricans (Fr.) P. Karst.]. Several very rare European polypores already reported from the Białowieża Forest in the 20th century, such as Antrodia albobrunnea (Romell) Ryvarden, Antrodiella foliaceodentata (Nikol.) Gilb. & Ryvarden, Buglossoporus pulvinus (Pers.) Donk, Dichomitus albidofuscus (Domański) Domański and Gelatoporia subvermispora (Pilát) Niemelä, were found at new localities, confirming their continuous occurrence in this forest.

We report the discovery of the pyrophilous species, Asemum tenuicorne (Coleoptera: Cerambycidae) in the Białowieża Primeval Forest (NE Poland) in 2009 and 2016. This species was previously known only from Southern Europe and one locality detached from the main range on the island of Gotska Sandön in Southern Sweden. Information on its northern spread and current distribution is summarized and critically analyzed and new data on its biology are provided. The morphology of A. tenuicorne adults was studied using 46 specimens from different localities and compared with 63 specimens of the widely distributed Asemum striatum. Differences between the two species are presented and illustrated using external features, morphometric measurements, shape of the male copulatory organs and wing venation.

This paper presents data on 23 beetle species recorded for the first time from the Białowieża Forest (Polish part), and among them two species new for the fauna of Poland. All the beetles were collected using multifunnel (Lindgren) traps, placed in the the selected sites of the study area in 2018. Collected species belong to 13 families: Carabidae (1 species), Corylophidae (1), Curculionidae (1), Dermestidae (1), Elateridae (2), Eucnemidae (1), Laemophloeidae (1), Latridiidae (2), Nitidulidae (1), Ptinidae (3), Staphylinidae (7), Throscidae (1) and Trogossitidae (1). Episernus angulicollis C. G. Thomson, 1863 and E. tatarinovae Toskina et Nikitsky, 2003 (Ptinidae) are recorded for the first time from Poland, and Microrhagus pyrenaeus Bonvouloir, 1872 (Elateridae) and Leptusa norvegica Strand, 1941 (Staphylinidae), for the second time. Distribution of all the above species in Poland is briefly discussed and details on the biology of some of them are given. An identification key for the species of the genus Episernus C. G. Thomson, 1863 from Central Europe is presented. Species diversity of beetles in the Polish part of Białowieża Forest is estimated based on published data.

The paper presents new data on the occurrence of 69 beetle species collected in 2017 in the Białowieża Forest, NE Poland. The list contains representatives of 27 families: Anthribidae, Bostrichidae, Ciidae, Cleridae, Coccinellidae, Corylophidae, Cryptophagidae, Curculionidae, Dasytidae, Elateridae, Endomychidae, Eucnemidae, Histeridae, Laemophloeidae, Latridiidae, Leiodidae, Lycidae, Melandryidae, Mycetophagidae, Ptinidae, Ripiphoridae, Salpingidae, Staphylinidae, Tenebrionidae, Tetratomidae, Throscidae, and Zopheridae. The majority of the species represents saproxylic, i.e. dead wood-dependent, beetles. Biology and distribution of some rarely recorded species are briefly discussed. All species are reported for the first time from the Białowieża Forest and, furthermore, Corticaria crenicollis Mannerheim, 1844 (Latridiidae) is new for the fauna of Poland.

New localities of <em>Rhizocarpon distinctum, R. geographicum</em> and <em>R. reductum</em> are reported from NE Poland. <em>Rhizocarpon distinctum, R. grande, R. hochstetteri, R. lavatum, R. petraeum, R. polycarpum</em> and R. reductum</em> are reported from NW Belarus for the first time. <em>Rhizocarpon hochstetteri, R. lavatum</em> and <em>R. polycarpum</em> are new to Belarus. A key to species occurring in the area is given.

There is extensive research of the Ephemeroptera communities taxonomy and ecology in the Andean region of Colombia. However, other regions such as the Orinoquia have been insufficiently studied. From this region, in the Meta department, four species have been registered: Varipes lasiobrachius Lugo-Ortiz & McCafferty, Coryphorus aquilus Peters, Miroculis (Atroari) colombiensis Savage & Peters and Tricorythopsis rondoniensis (Dias, Cruz & Ferreira). The main objective of this study is to report for the first time for this region the species: Mayobaetis ellenae (Mayo), Hydrosmylodon primanus (Eaton), Haplohyphes baritu Domínguez, Camelobaetidus edmundsi Dominique, Mathuriau & Thomas and Nanomis galera Lugo-Ortiz & McCafferty.

This paper discusses the preliminary results of the first comprehensive survey of the spiders of the Bukit Timah Nature Reserve (BTNR) in Singapore. Two plots were established in each of the three zones of vegetation, viz., primary forest, old secondary forest, and maturing secondary forest. They were repeatedly sampled over an 18-month period. Sorting of the collection so far suggests that the three vegetation zones harbour rather different spider assemblages. Only ~9% of the total spider fauna recovered was shared by all three zones. The results have also yielded a preliminary picture of dominance, abundance and rarity. Although first intended to obtain a baseline for future quantitative analyses, the survey became a testing ground to modify and refine methodology so as to conduct future quantitative surveys with greater scientific rigour. Taxonomic work on the samples so far shows that the spiders in the BTNR span over 43 families, of which six families are listed for the first time in Singapore. The tally is summarised in an interim checklist of BTNR spiders. The checklist, with a total of 317 entries, shows that there are 158 described species of spiders in BTNR, of which 25 species are new records for Singapore. Another 159 morphospecies are provisionally recognised as distinct species, some of which may be new to science. Our observations during the survey have allowed us to provide a narrative of BTNR spider diversity against a backdrop of their microhabitat specialisation.

The paper provides data on records of 29 species of aphyllophoroid fungi new for the the Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Area — Yugra. Among them 10 species (Amaurodon cyaneus, Amyloxenasma allantosporum, Asterostroma laxum, Byssoporia terrestris, Paullicorticium pearsonii, Pseudomerulius montanus, Sistotrema sernanderi, Skeletocutis alutacea, S. ochroalba, Tubulicrinis orientalis) are published for the first time for Siberia, and 3 species (Scytinostroma praestans, Tomentellopsis zygodesmoides, Tubulicrinis strangulatus) are new for the West Siberia. Data on their locations, habitats and substrates in region are indicated. The specimens are kept in the Museum of the Institute of Plant and Animal Ecology of the Ural Branch of the RAS (SVER).
