AbstractLet (X, d) be a metric space and T: X → X a continuous map. If the sequence (T n)n∈ℕ of iterates of T is pointwise convergent in X, then for any x ∈ X, the limit $$\mu _T (x) = \mathop {\lim }\limits_{n \to \infty } T^n (x)$$ is a fixed point of T. The problem of determining the form of µT leads to the invariance equation µT ○ T = µT, which is difficult to solve in general if the set of fixed points of T is not a singleton. We consider this problem assuming that X = I p, where I is a real interval, p ≥ 2 a fixed positive integer and T is the mean-type mapping M =(M 1,...,M p) of I p. In this paper we give the explicit forms of µM for some classes of mean-type mappings. In particular, the classical Pythagorean harmony proportion can be interpreted as an important invariance equality. Some applications are presented. We show that, in general, the mean-type mappings are not non-expansive.

We will introduce the concept ofn-tupled fixed points (for positive integern) in fuzzy metric space by mild modification of the concept ofn-tupled fixed points (for even positive intergern) introduced by Imdad et al. (2013) in metric spaces. As application of the above-mentioned concept, we will establish somen-tupled fixed point theorems for contractive type mappings in fuzzy metric space which extends the result of Roldán et al. (2013). Also we have given an application to solve a kind of Lipschitzian systems fornvariables and an integral system.

Ever since the introduction of fuzzy sets by Zadeh [1] , the fuzzyness invaded almost all the branches of crisp mathematics. Deng [3] kaleva and Seikalla [2] and Kramosil and Michalek [5]Have introduced the concept of fuzzy metric space, George and Veeramani [4] modified the concept of fuzzy metric space introduced by kramosil and michalek [5]. In thia paper effort has been made to obtain some results on fixed points of expansion type mapping in Intuitionistic fuzzy metric space DOI: http://dx.doi.org/ 10.3126/kuset.v7i1.5420 KUSET 2011; 7(1): 38-47

In this paper, the concept of a new ?-generalized quasi metric space is introduced. A number of well-known quasi metric spaces are retrieved from ?-generalized quasi metric space. Some general fixed point theorems in a ?-generalized quasi metric spaces are proved, which generalize, modify and unify some existing fixed point theorems in the literature. We also give applications of our results to obtain fixed points for contraction mappings in the domain of words and to prove the existence of periodic solutions of delay differential equations.

In this article, we employ the notion of coupled fixed points on a complete b-metric space endowed with a graph to give sufficient conditions to guarantee a solution of system of differential equations with impulse effects. We derive recisely some new coupled fixed point theorems under some conditions and then apply our results to achieve our goal.

In the present paper, we adopt the concept of expansive mapping in the context of Gp-metric spaces in a similar manner expansive mapping in metric spaces. Furthermore, we obtain some results on fixed points of expansive type mappings. Also, we prove some common fixed point results for expansive mappings by using the notion of weak compatibility in Gp-metric space. Our results generalize some comparable results in metric spaces and partial metric spaces to Gp-metric spaces. Moreover, some examples are introduced in order to support our new results.

We consider the problem of a double fixed point of pairs of continuous mappings defined on a convex closed bounded subset of a Banach space. It is shown that if one of the mappings is completely continuous and the other is continuous, then the property of the existence of fixed points is stable under contracting perturbations of the mappings. We obtain estimates for the distance from a given pair of points to double fixed points of perturbed mappings. We consider the problem of a fixed point of a completely continuous mapping on a convex closed bounded subset of a Banach space. It is shown that the property of the existence of a fixed point of a completely continuous map is stable under contracting perturbations. Estimates of the distance from a given point to a fixed point are obtained. As an application of the obtained results, the solvability of a difference equation of a special type is proved.

Abstract We study the existence of fixed points for contraction multivalued mappings in modular metric spaces endowed with a graph. The notion of a modular metric on an arbitrary set and the corresponding modular spaces, generalizing classical modulars over linear spaces like Orlicz spaces, were recently introduced. This paper can be seen as a generalization of Nadler and Edelstein’s fixed point theorems to modular metric spaces endowed with a graph.

The aim of this paper is to introduce generalized F2-Geraghty type fuzzy mappings on a metric space for establishing the existence of fuzzy fixed points of such mappings. As an application of our result, we obtain the existence of common fuzzy fixed point for a generalized F2-Geraghty type fuzzy hybrid pair. These results unify, generalize and complement various known comparable results in the literature. An example and an application to theoretical computer science are presented to support the theory proved herein. Also, to suggest further research on fuzzy mappings, a Feng–Liu type theorem is proved.

In this paper, we will discuss about fixed point theorems in generalized modular metric space for Kannan-  type mapping. The existence of the fixed point of this mapping is guaranteed by providing that the mapping domain is a -finite set and the Kannan-  mapping constant  satisfied  where K is a constant from the axiom of generalized modular metric space.
