In the big cities, the shield undercrossing metro project has become critical to the safety of the metro, this paper takes the South-North Water Transfer Project shield under traverse Beijing certain subway project for construction background. It makes technical schemes comparison, analyses the deformation law of the existing subway structure and propoes protective measures to prevent the existing subway structure. The analysis showed the following conclusions: in shield undercrossing the metro project, in order to reduce disturbance on surrounding soils and the existing metro structure, we should take the necessary control measures such as grouting and determine the optimum shield parameters; the overall trend of the monitoring results accords well with numerical simulation results; The reason why the actual values and model calculation values has certain deviation is that it is difficult to consider shield parameters such as the pressure of shield thrust, pressures of grouting and so on in numerical simulation.

The seepage field regulation is important for the stability canal liner plate and slope for along the Middle Route of the South-to-North Water Transfer Project, especially for stretches excavated in expensive soil area with groundwater level. In order to analyzing the rationality and efficiency of seepage regulation measures comprehensively, a typical section was modeled, and the seepage field was simulated with the 3D finite element technology. The distribution of seepage field was analyzed and the seepage control measures were compared. The results show that water pressure on the underside of canal pavement would be reduced significantly by the measures, such as the measure of drainage cushion with drainage holes which open just when ground water level is higher than the canal water level, the measure with drainage cushion replaced by the drainage board. The differences among the two kinds of measure were compared. Their application conditions were discussed and proposed.

Background: The burden of malaria, schistosomiasis and soil transmitted helminthes (STH) in the islands of Lake Victoria, Kenya, poses a considerable public health challenge. Although many studies have been conducted on the co-infection arising from these parasites, few have evaluated communities’ knowledge of the same. Increasing the level of knowledge about a disease or preventive chemotherapy is important, but efforts need to be focused on community perception and understanding of the problem so as to encourage engagement with the proposed control measures. This study aimed at understanding a community’s knowledge of malaria, schistosomiasis and STH in Lake Victoria island where an integrated preventive chemotherapy intervention was implemented. Methods: This study was conducted in Ngodhe Island in Lake Victoria in Homa Bay County, western Kenya region between April and May 2016. The study adopted a mixed method approach where both qualitative and quantitative data collection was performed concurrently.  Results: A total of 239 people participated in this study. All the respondents reported that they had heard about malaria, 89.1% had heard about schistosomiasis while 87.4% had heard about STH. The majority of the respondents (93.3%) drew their drinking water directly from the lake and 80.3% reported bathing in the lake. Out of all the respondents, 96.2% knew about the ongoing preventive chemotherapy. Most respondents (94.1%) said they would participate in a preventive chemotherapy again, while 0.4% was not sure. The majority of the respondents (86.6%) reported that integrated strategy is the most effective approach to control the three infections in the Island. Conclusion: The findings show a very high knowledge about these diseases. Although this study found majority of the respondents are aware of the co-infection of malaria, schistosomiasis and STH, their behaviors such as bathing in the lake exacerbates the problem.

In view of the problem of concrete cracks during construction, the good effect of cracks prevention can be achieved if the timely and reasonable scheme of temperature control is selected. Under the 3-D FEM including water-pipe cooling is adopted to simulate the stresses field of Inverted siphon during construction. Through analyzing the time-space variation law, it is fund that cracks easily appear. In the part of the middle line of the South-North Water Transfer Project£¬the quality of concrete surface of III section in Jiaozuo has been improved obviously through the method of external insulation board.

In view of the problem of mass concrete cracks during construction, the corresponding measures and methods are put forward. Generally speaking, the difference between the internal and external temperature and the basic difference of temperature are considered as the main factors influencing the phenomena. Under the FEM is adopted to simulate the stresses field of Inverted siphon during construction. Through analyzing the time-space variation law, it is fund that cracks easily appear. In the part of the middle line of the South-North Water Transfer Project£¬the quality of concrete surface of ¢ñsection in Jiaozuo has been improved obviously through the method of external insulation board, so it deserves to bepopularized.
