In this article, the author gives an example of using the apparatus of fuzzy logic in assessing the effectiveness of digitalization of an enterprise, specifies indicators that can be used as criteria for building a system for assessing the effectiveness of digitalization, as well as provides an overview of existing developments. Within the framework of the article, the study outlines the directions of modification of classical estimation methods that are possible using the apparatus of fuzzy logic. The paper substantiates the choice of a universal fuzzy logic tool as a mathematical apparatus for forming an assessment: a system of fuzzy logical conclusions – standard five-level [0; 1]-classifiers. The possibility of fuzzy classification of properties, as well as qualimetry based on the aggregation of hierarchies of factors, will make it possible to assess the level of efficiency of enterprise digitalization by the degree of success.

Order picking is an activity in a warehouse, carried out by a team, where customer orders are prepared. It is also the activity with the highest logistic costs in a company. In this chapter, a proposal is presented aimed at improving the order picking process in a warehouse. Order picking continues to attract the attention of people in charge of optimizing processes in a company for minimizing costs. There are several approaches to order picking such as discrete picking, batch picking, and zone picking. The purpose of this study is mainly oriented toward the reduction of batch picking times to achieve an improvement in the service. In this chapter is proposed the application of compensatory fuzzy logic (CFL), which is a branch of classical logic and is also discussed the possibility of making real-time order batches (dynamic batching) by using compensatory fuzzy rules for the classification of incoming orders.

This paper reports on a novel approach to the optical information processing for the hyperspectral remote sensing systems by means of developed unification algorithm of the two mathematical tools: the fuzzy logic and the neural network. New neuro-fuzzy classification algorithm for hyperspectral remote sensed images has been proposed. It is able to replace complicated empirical formulae, which require the knowledge of dependences of many input parameters that rapidly change during of range time and difficult for crisp determination.

A key challenge for companies in the e-business era is to manage customer relationships as an asset. In today’s global economy this task is becoming simultaneously more difficult and more important. In order to retain the potentially good customers and to improve their buying attitude, this chapter proposes a hierarchical fuzzy classification of online customers. A fuzzy classification, which is a combination of relational databases and fuzzy logic, allows customers to be classified into several classes at the same time and can therefore precisely determine the customers’ value for an enterprise. This approach allows companies to improve the customer equity, to launch loyalty programs, to automate mass customization, and to refine marketing campaigns in order to maximize the customers’ value and, this way, the companies’ profit.

This report is dedicated to the role of the web site as an important tool for presenting business on the Internet. Classification of site types has been made in terms of their application in the business and the types of structures in their construction. The Models of the Life Cycle for designing business websites are analyzed and are outlined their strengths and weaknesses. The stages in the design, construction, commissioning, and maintenance of a business website are distinguished and the activities and requirements of each stage are specified.
