The scientific and technological developments in today's world require countries to raise entrepreneurial, productive, critical, problem-solving, and entrepreneurial individuals. Therefore, STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) education has gained importance today. STEM education is defined as an approach that takes an interdisciplinary relationship and takes a holistic approach to science, technology, engineering, and mathematics. STEM education includes the activities that will increase the students' interest and orientations towards science, technology, engineering, and mathematics fields using the skills that should be possessed today. The aim of this study was to examine the STEM awareness and entrepreneurship levels of pre-service science teachers. The sample of the study consisted of 93 female and 20 male students studying in the Science Education Department at Afyon Kocatepe University. As a quantitative research type, survey method was used in this study. “STEM Awareness Scale” (SAS) developed by Buyruk and Korkmaz (2016) and “Entrepreneurship Scale for Teacher Candidates” developed by Deveci and Cepni (2015) were used as data collection tools. As a result of analyses, it was seen that science teachers' attitudes towards STEM education were positive. Females’ STEM awareness was significantly higher than males’ in both positive and negative sub-factors. STEM awareness of the first grade students was significantly lower than the other classes in the positive sub-factor, and significant differences were found between the first grade and second grade, and the second grade and the fourth grade in the negative sub-factor. There were no significant differences of entrepreneurship levels in terms of gender. Also, the entrepreneurship characteristics of the second grade were significantly higher than the other grade levels.

This study investigated the effects of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) applications carried out with the purpose of supporting the integrated knowledge of prospective science teachers on the scientific process skills and STEM education orientation skills of prospective teachers. According to the results, the STEM application was effective on the scientific process skills of the prospective teachers in the experiment group in comparison to those in the control group; however, it was not effective on their levels of orientation towards STEM education. The prospective teachers stated that Algodoo is a good tool for integration of STEM disciplines.

The study investigated attitudes towards computer and computer anxiety as determinants of computer self-efficacy among 2100 pre-service science, technology and mathematics (STM) teachers from the University of Lagos of Nigeria using the quantitative research method within the blueprint of the descriptive survey design. Data collected were analysed using the descriptive statistics of percentages, mean, and standard deviation and inferential statistics of independent samples t-test, Pearson product moment correlation coefficient and multiple regression analysis. Finding revealed significant correlations between computer attitudes, computer anxiety and computer self-efficacy. Gender differences in attitude toward computer, computer self-efficacy and computer anxiety among pre-service STM teachers were significant. Affective component, perceived control component, and perceived usefulness component, behavioural intention component, gender, and computer anxiety made statistically significant contributions to the variance in pre-service STM teachers’ computer self-efficacy. The study recommended among others that academic institutions should pay more attention to this computer anxiety and adopt proper ways of reducing the computer anxiety, so that positive e-learning experiences can be created for pre-service STM teachers.

This study aims to examine the effect of Science-Technology-Society (STS) learning unit on the Work and Energy topic in developing grade 10 students’ scientific argumentation. The research participants were 20 grade 10 students at one secondary school located in Khon Kaen province, the Northeastern region of Thailand. The students’ tasks, discourse and informal interview were collected and interpreted according to the Toulmin’s Argument Pattern (TAP) framework. The findings revealed that the STS learning unit on Work and Energy could promote the participating students’ scientific argumentation. That is, the students could generate more quality and effective scientific argumentation according to the TAP framework. There was a high number of quality scientific argumentation regarding Warrants, Qualifiers and Backing especially in the Decision Making and Socialization stages of STS approach. Also, the students normally applied their scientific understanding in creating their Grounds. The implication of this study in designing the appropriate STS workshop for training in-service science teachers to be able to understand about the STS approach and how to apply the STS approach in helping their students develop scientific argumentation.

STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) learning approach integrates four disciplines, namely science, technology, engineering, and mathematics, in solving everyday life problems and giving many learning experiences to students. This study aimed to analyze career interest in the field of STEM for prospective Indonesian Mathematics and Natural Sciences (MIPA) teachers, studying the patterns of relationships between factors, preference levels, and what factors influence it. The research sample was 300 prospective MIPA teachers at the Faculty of Teacher Training and Education, Lampung University. This work involved several stages as (1) adapting and transliterating STEM career interests instruments based on literature sources, (2) analyzing content validity based on expert judgment, (3) spreading tools to research samples and (4) evaluating research data results, assessing bivariate correlations, and the level of interest preference. The data obtained were analyzed statistically using exploratory and confirmatory factor analysis techniques, reliability and variance analysis, and Pearson product-moment correlation. The research results showed information regarding the items in the questionnaire were grouped into four factors, namely engineering career attitude, mathematics career attitude, science career attitude, technology career attitude with loading factors ranging from 0.575 to 0.848. All these factors were able to explain the career attitude of STEM to the sum of 62.43%. The science and mathematics career attitude is the dominant preference for prospective students of Mathematics and Natural Sciences teachers to have a career in the future. Furthermore, the instruments used are valid and reliable to be used to analyze STEM career attitudes for Mathematics and Natural Sciences teacher candidates.
