This research is motivated by the lack of mathematics teaching materials that can make students learn on their own. The teaching material can be created by teachers as they are the ones who possess the knowledge about their students’ characteristics. Further, learning materials are a set of materials (information, tools, or texts) that can aid teachers and students to carry out the learning process. The two-variable linear equation system (SPLDV) is one of the mathematics materials taught to eighth-grade students of junior high school; it contains problems related to daily life. However, it is found that this material is still difficult to master by most students. Therefore, it is necessary to develop the SPLDV teaching materials that can help students learn and solve problems as well as be used as examples by teachers in developing other materials. This research aimed to make problem-based SPLDV teaching materials. The research method refers to the Four-D Model by Thiagarajan, Semmel, and Semmel (1974). It consisted of defining, designing, developing, and disseminating. The results showed that problem-based SPLDV teaching materials could be used in learning activities as the students and the teachers had shown their positive responses after going through expert assessments. This study also suggested that the teachers use this teaching material and adopt teaching materials for other similar materials.

The intention of this study was to find the learning trajectory of two-variable linear equations system in Junior High School. This study was design research using validation study. The participants of this study were Junior High School students in grade IX SMPIT Luqman al-Hakim Yogyakarta Indonesia. Data were collected through observation and interview. Data were analysed using Milles & Huberman model. Result revealed that the learning trajectory of the two-variables linear equation system were to deepen the mastery of algebra and one-variable linear equation system, model the two-variable linear equation system, solve the experiments, complete the two-variable linear equation using graphs, complete two-variable linear equations by substitution, simple elimination, complex elimination, and mixed method, and solve two-variable linear equation system problems. Keywords: learning trajectory, two-variable linear equation system, design research.

This research is aims to improve learning approach Discovery learning and Self Confidence to junior high school students on two linears equation. The research was conducted in one of Junior High School in Purwakarta. understanding of students in understanding the concept of system of linear equations of two variables is still very low because students emphasized the use of  formulas and routine exercises. because of that, the researcher seeks to apply learning approach Discovery Learning to stundents Self Confidence. this research uses classroom action research method which is implemented through two cycles consisting of one cycle on one meeting. the instrument used is the observation sheet, interview, preliminary tests and tests each cycle. In the preliminary tests showed that confidence in the mastery of the concept of linear equations of learners is still very low. On the cycle of a stundent's activities is listening explanation about the matter of concept of linear equation of two variable, identifiying, collecting information, and solving the problems that the teacher provides. On the one cycle many students are still confused in understanding the two-variable linear equation material and their confidence are still very low. In the second cycle the students has improved in understanding the concept of linear equations of two variables and has a good selfconfidence. The result of this research showed that the used of learning approach Discovery Learning on stundent's self confidence  on understanding the concept of linear equations of two variables has increased.

Abstract:  The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of heuristic strategies on the mathematical problem solving approach of students in class VIII of Junior High School on the material of Two Variable Linear Equation Systems. This type of research is quasi-experimental. The population of this study was the eighth grade students of junior high school. The instrument used is a test which amounts to 6 questions. The results showed that the average results of the experimental class posttest were 65.8 and the control class average value was 58.68. The t-test results obtained t-count of 2.53 and t-Tabel of 2.02. This shows that the learning outcomes between the experimental class students and the control class have significant differences after being given different treatments. So that the heuristic strategy in the problem solving approach used is more influential on student learning outcomes compared to the direct learning method in the two-variable linear equation material
