The purpose of this study was to develop student worksheets based on PBL (Problem Based Learning) to improve the problem-solving abilities of class VIII students at MTs Hikmatusysyarief NW Salut Narmada for the 2020-2021 school year on two-variable linear equation systems. PBL-based LKPD (Problem Based Learning) is an LKPD that is arranged based on the phases of the PBL learning model. The development of this product aims to overcome the weaknesses in the teaching and learning process and overcome the weaknesses of students' problem-solving abilities. The research methodology used in developing PBL-based LKPD is 4D (Define, Design, Development, and Dissemination). Data collection techniques using interview guidelines and questionnaires. The result of the research is a product in the form of LKPD based on PBL (Problem Based Learning) on the material of a two-variable linear equation system. The product has been declared valid with very good criteria by two validators. Based on the results of a limited trial on the use of the developed product, it is known that the PBL-based LKPD can improve the problem-solving ability of class VIII students of MTs Hikmatusysyarief NW Salut Narmada.

Abstract This work is based on a study into new ways of resolving the equilibrium equation systems for manual analyses of certain structures commonly found in building. It suggests finding solutions based on images that reproduce the operations of current methods, which may inspire the design of others that qualitatively reflect those of other more effective procedures. To date three methods (Gauss, Cholesky & Crout) have been imagined: (i) by “visualising” their operations through the mechanical behaviour of models during the equilibrium phase. These visualisations may help suggest other physical responses that can balance models more quickly and identify with new, more direct numerical methods; (ii) by “geometrising” operations by means of lines sketched freehand. This geometrisation may reveal hidden links between the parts of the calculation of current methods that enable more direct but equally precise new methods to be created. The paper shows four images to reinforce these viewpoints. Two visualise the methods of Gauss-Jordan and Cramer, confirming that the abstract procedures that resolve the systems may be linked to specific mechanical behaviours. The other two geometrise the resolutions by Gauss and Gauss-Jordan when the stiffness matrices are asymmetric. Their systems could emerge from the analysis of cracked models or from obtaining the equivalent actions in the P-Δ method, in line with a procedure drawn up previously. The paper ends by geometrising the resolution of a system at different scales and comparing the outcomes with those of numerical methods. The results (i) confirm that geometrising scalar and vectorial magnitudes for numerical analysis procedures reduces application times if they are calculated freehand; and (ii) point to possible lines of research for developing further graphic methods that can analyse other types of structure directly and accurately.

This study aims to determine and analyze aspects of students' mathematical communication skills in the material of two-variable linear equations (SPLDV. The study was conducted with a sample of 5 students from 30 populations with different abilities and were taken randomly at one junior high school in Jakarta. used is descriptive qualitative. The research instrument is a test of mathematical communication skills in the form of 5 essay questions and interviews. The results of the tests that have been carried out show the results of communication skills in the medium category because there are 3 questions whose percentage is in the medium category and 2 other questions in the low category It can be seen from the percentage of scores per item, that is question no. 1 has a percentage of 60%. Question no.2 has a percentage of 45%. Question no.3 has a percentage of 40%. Question no.4 has a percentage of 30%. And questions no.5 with the acquisition of a percentage of 25%. Thus, it can be concluded that the ability to communicate The mathematical students on the material of a system of linear equations of two variables are included in the medium category.

This classroom action research aims to improve learning outcomes of students through the implementation of the problem-based learning model. This research was carried out at the VIII1 class of SMP Negeri 3 Pekanbaru in academic year 2019/2020 on the material of two-variable linear equation systems (SPLDV). The subjects were 39 students consisting of 18 male and 21 female students with heterogenous academic ability. This research was conducted within 2 cycles, namely; the first cycle consisted of two meetings and the second cycle consisted of three meetings. The instruments of this research were learning medias consisting of syllabus, student’s worksheet, as well as the data collection instruments consisting of teacher and students’ activities sheet and students learning outcomes sheets. According to the results of the analysis of the teacher and student activity data, it shows that there is an improvement in each meeting after the implementation of the PBL model. Student mathematics learning outcomes data on knowledge and skill competencies also indicate an increase in the percentage of students with learning outcomes equal to or more than 75 in accordance with the established minimum passing criteria. The results of this study specify that the implementation of the PBL model is able to improve students learning outcomes of class VIII1 students of SMP Negeri 3 Pekanbaru for the 2019/2020 academic year on SPLDV material.

This study aims to analyze students interest in learning mathematics, especially in the material of three variable linear equation systems. The subjects of this study were X class high school students in one of the public high schools in Karawang. The research instrument used was students interest with 18 item statements containing positive statements and negative statements and containing 4 (four) indicators of interest in learning, including : 1) Feelings of pleasure/like, 2) Attention, 3) Interest, and 4) Student involvement as well as the results of observations during the mathematics learning process, especially in the SPLTV material. The results obtained in this study indicate that each indicator of students interest in learning falls into the sufficient category with a proportion of more than 50%.
