Today, the electricity supplier is not able to declare the possible level of quality of electricity supply, and the consumer simply does not have the opportunity to buy such "high-quality" electricity. In such conditions, a differentiated approach to tariff formation is inevitable, which has been implemented in practice today, albeit in its infancy. Further improvement of the tariff-forming mechanism is impossible without creating a "flexible" dependence of the tariff on the quality indicators of the consumer's power supply. Quality indicators, in turn, are based, on the one hand, on the methods and approaches for their determination, and on the other, on statistically reliable data on the elements that make up the equipment in the "generation-consumer" chain. In recent years, there has been a tendency to change the concept of development of the electric power industry, since preference is given to the development of sources of distributed generation. Distributed generation is understood as a source of electrical energy directly connected to the distribution electrical network or connected to it by consumers. Ensuring the socio-economic stability of society and a decent quality of life for the population largely depends on the reliability and efficiency of the functioning of the infrastructure for the supply of fuel and energy resources, in particular, electricity. Excessive losses of electricity during its production, transportation and distribution, as well as an unacceptable level of harmful emissions into the atmosphere, are the cause of interruptions in power supply to consumers and even the threat of systemic accidents in the United Energy System (UPS) of the country. The introduction of alternative energy sources in electric power systems, in addition to reducing the harmful impact on the environment and solving the problems associated with waste pollution during electric power generation, will reduce the use of natural resources and relieve the backbone and distribution power lines. As part of the scientific search, an approach was proposed, which is the basis for calculations to determine the optimal installation locations for sources of distributed generation of an average overhead line. The results obtained are presented in the framework of a joint technical meeting of leading specialists of operating enterprises, the customer and the staff of the Department of Power Supply named after V.M. Sinkova NULES of Ukraine.

Harmonics of power system seriously affected the quality of electric power. Active Power Filter (APF) [ which overcomes the shortcomings of passive filter (PF) has become main technology to suppress harmonic. In this paper, development history, key technology, problems and trends of APF are mainly analyzed and reviewed. With development of key technology of APF, it will have a better application prospect.

In the application of electrical power quality control, the necessity for data processing becomes very important. The measurement data obtained is the latest data and measured in real time with good time resolution and with low error. The object of research is the quality of electric power, the research is about ways of measuring quality of electrical power to obtain accurate data in accordance with actual conditions. This method is capable of measuring data of electrical power quality that changes very quickly with a low error. This data is used as a basis for improving the quality of electric power accurately and accurately.

This paper presents the design and development of a mini portable cooler that utilizes the Peltier effect to cool the human expressed breast milk (EBM) within 24 hours at the temperature range between 4°C-15°C to maintain the high quality of the EBM for use at a later date and the health of the baby who consume it. It is developed to overcome the tediousness of using cooler bag/box, which requires ice packs that need repetitive freezing. A few prototypes with different sizes and body materials, namely polystyrene, polypropylene and aluminium, were successfully developed and tested to get the minimum temperature using 5V power supply. In all graphs, the temperature is decreasing with time. The smallest size of the cooled space (18cm of width, 12cm of length and 14cm of height) has the lowest temperature compared to the other sizes for each body material. However, the lowest temperature of all body materials is obtained from aluminium with 11.2°C at 100 minutes. It also reaches below 15°C the fastest which is at 80 minutes compared to the other prototypes that need longer time. All in all, aluminium is the best body material for the mini portable cooler developed in this project.

The article deals with the problem of unbalance of currents and voltages of communal utilities and the degree of correspondence of existing solutions to the level of informatization. The classification and structure of measures to reduce asymmetry, existing means and devices for balancing are considered. Particular attention is paid to the switching method of asymmetry’s correction. The advantages of this method in comparison with the others are indicated in the article. It is established that at present the realization of this method is associated with considerable labor costs for personnel with minimal automation of the process. A comparative analysis of devices based on the switching method of balancing with other devices is performed. Several examples of devices are given. It was found out that devices, the principle of operation of which is based on the switching method, require significantly less investment than other devices. The analysis of the correspondence between the level of automation of the balancing process and the capabilities of automated systems for data collection and processing is carried out. Several devices of automated systems for monitoring and accounting of electric power and automated devices for monitoring the quality of electricity were considered. It was found out that automated systems for monitoring and accounting of electric power, in spite of lower accuracy of measurements, have an advantage over automated systems for monitoring the quality of electric power in their greater prevalence. It is concluded that with the existing level of equipping networks with such systems, information on asymmetry can be obtained with the necessary accuracy and without additional capital investments. The conclusion is made that the problem is topical and because of the analysis of existing methods for reducing asymmetry, the task is formulated of developing new methods, the realization of which is possible with the help of an automated advisory system.

AbstractThe aim of the present work is to evaluate the power quality (PQ) required in individual customers in low voltage (LV), along an electrical circuit of 13.8 kV, in a distribution network standardized in urban area and with diversity of energy consumption profiles. Energy, including comprehended parts of the region with downside against financial rates. The data is useful in this sales environment of a Brazilian distribution company. These data were developed by the data mediation systems for a communication interface that enable to identify and evaluate PQ disturbance. The results of the surveys is compared with limits reported in Module 8 of the National Electric Energy Distribution Procedures (PRODIST), according to Brazilian Regulation Agency (ANEEL), that is, the pre-definition of rules, standards, parameters, and procedures about the quality of electric power supplied and the quality of the service provided. The PRODIST Procedure has a major analysis focused in the voltage supplied. The data sensors are based on studies of Duration Relative of Predary Stress (DRP) and Duration Relative of Transgression for Critical Stress (DRC). In this paper the results are presented and the challenged to supply this area with diversity of consumer profiles is commented.
