The article discusses the research findings in the area of assessing management efficiency of the hotel and restaurant industry development. The statistics review has revealed certain inconsistency in presenting data on hotel and restaurant industry development indicators across different sources. The study offers a robust methodology to evaluate management efficiency in the hospitality and tourism sector development that can be used to determine the feasibility of investment project initiatives at the regional level as well as have practical implications for business entities’ activities at micro-, meso- and macrolevels. Apart from that, the consolidated statistical information will be available for further application. The research results demonstrate the benefits of the system approach in economic analysis which facilitates better information management to ensure coherence in decision making in a regional context in the areas of production, finance or marketing subject to different levels – strategic, tactical or operational. The proposed approach is a valid methodological framework that has great potential to enhance the Ukrainian hospitality and tourism industry management strategy, on the one hand, and might become an effective tactical tool to attain the benchmarks set within the tourism management development strategy, on the other, based on accounting of impact factors in identifying regional tourism priorities, revealing barriers, threats, opportunities and possible development scenarios.

Hospitality and tourism industry has a significant part to play in Malawi's economy. The industry has created jobs and contributes to foreign currency generation. In view of this importance, a research was conducted from 250 hospitality and tourism establishments in Malawi to determine and evaluate any problems currently faced by the industry.The research identified that the industry is facing some impediments in physical infrastructure development, management, lack of ICT Technologies and marketing. The industry is also characterized by lack or insufficient related rules and policies, high bank interest rates, erratic electricity and high levels of corruption by government officials.The methodology for the research included the online questionnaire and telephone interviews to a sample of 250 participants. Only 194 participants responded to the questionnaire. The targeted group was managers and the owners of the hospitality and tourism business entities. The findings were analyzed both qualitatively and quantitatively. It is believed that quantitative approach gives a lot of information and is easier to compile the data onto a chart or graph because of the numbers that are made available. On other hands, qualitative techniques are easier to gain a better understanding of the research findings.

Introduction. System transformations in the Ukrainian economy agrarian sector should lay the foundation for balanced integrated development of individual enterprises, sectors of the national economy and the country as a whole. Socio-economic development of agrarian enterprises should be the concept basis of entrepreneurial activity efficiency increasing in agriculture. Аn effective strategy formation for the Ukrainian agrarian sector development and business entities in this field requires identification of the existing problems and the search for effective ways of their solution. The purpose of the study is to summarize theoretical and methodological principles, develop methodological and practical recommendations for the formation and design the development strategy for the domestic agricultural enter-prises in the conditions of globalization of the economy on the basis of their resource potential analysis and management efficiency. Results. The paper analyzes the modern level of resource provision and management efficiency in agrarian en-terprises of the Poltava region, identifies the factors influencing the activity efficiency and the strategy of their devel-opment. It is determined that it is necessary to formulate a strategy for the agrarian enterprises development in order to balance the economic, ecological and social problems of their development in the conditions of further institutional transformations in the state economy. An analysis of the level and their development dynamics in contemporary condi-tions was carried out to create a strategy for the agrarian enterprises further development. It is established that the outlined negative tendencies in the agrarian sector only exacerbate the issue of the strategy forming importance for the agrarian enterprises development in order to further increase the efficiency of their functioning and competitiveness in the food market as an important sector of the state's economy that is able to ensure the growth of gross output produc-tion in the crisis period and to guarantee food security country. Conclusions. It is determined that the level of resource potential and the management efficiency are the main guides and a key element in the strategy formation for the agrarian enterprises development in the conditions of globali-zation of the economy.

Paper discusses local municipality touristic development and tourism strategies analysing achievements of national touristic objectives regarding foreign and domestic tourists in two groups of selected municipalities within two different countries. First group includes three municipalities from Slovenia and the second group includes three comparable municipalities from Serbia. Throughout our analysis we carefully considered countries basic documents Slovenian and Serbian tourism development strategy. After analysing statistical data, we conclude, that it is of great signicifance for each municipality the direction of tourism industry development, investments into modern tourist capacities as well as professional marketing, as is the case with municipality ob Brežice.
