Abstract INCONEL Filler Metal 617 is a nickel-base alloy suitable for welding a number of alloys. It is used for the gas tungsten-arc (TIG) and gas metal-arc (MIG) welding of INCONEL alloy 617. For extended service at temperatures above 1700 F (925 C), it is recommended for welding INCOLOY alloy 800H and 802. It also is recommended for welding a number of cast alloys.
