Abstract VERTI-COR Welding Electrode is a continuous tubular steel welding electrode with a powdered-metal-and-flux core; gas shielding and slag are used to protect the molten electrode and weld metal. The VERTI-COR Welding Electrode is used for all-position welding and is a member of the FLUXCOR family of electrodes. It is used to deposit typically 1.6 to 1.9% manganese steel weld metal that is tough and has tensile strengths in the range 80,000 to 97,000 psi, depending on composition of the shielding gas. This datasheet provides information on composition, physical properties, and elasticity. It also includes information on corrosion resistance as well as heat treating, machining, and joining. Filing Code: SA-384. Producer or source: Airco Welding Products.

Abstract TUF-COR 1 WELDING ELECTRODE was designed for general-purpose welding of mild steel. It can produce spatter-free, well-contoured welds in the horizontal position and in the flat position. Tuf-Cor 1 is specially formulated to produce spray-like metal transfer and multi-pass capabilities which allow the versatility of using one electrode diameter to weld many plate thicknesses that normally would require two or more diameters. It is used to deposit typically 1.55% manganese steel weld metal that is tough and has a tensile strength of typically 87,000 psi. The shielding gas is carbon dioxide. This datasheet provides information on composition, physical properties, and elasticity. It also includes information on corrosion resistance as well as heat treating and machining. Filing Code: SA-399. Producer or source: Airco Welding Products.

Abstract AIRCO METAL-COR 6 is a continuous tubular steel welding electrode with a powdered-metal core; gas shielding rather than slag is used to protect the core. It eliminates 50 to 70% of the smoke and fumes generated by self-shielded flux-cored electrodes and about 30% of the smoke from gas-shielded flux-cored electrodes. Metal-Core 6 is used to deposit typically 1.6 to 1.8% manganese steel weld metal that provides as-deposited tensile strength in the range 85,000 to 92,000 psi, depending on composition of the shielding gas. This datasheet provides information on composition, physical properties, elasticity, and tensile properties as well as fracture toughness. It also includes information on corrosion resistance as well as heat treating, machining, and joining. Filing Code: SA-381. Producer or source: Airco Welding Products.

Abstract UNIFLUX V100 is a continuous flux-cored welding electrode (wire) that is used to deposit 1/2% molybdenum steel weld metal when used to weld 1/2% molybdenum steel for which it was developed. Welding is protected by a shielding atmosphere of 75% argon-25% carbon dioxide. This electrode is also used to weld other low-alloy steels and carbon steels; however, the weld metal may differ somewhat from 1/2% molybdenum because of weld-metal dilution. Uniflux V100 is used widely in shipbuilding to weld 1/2% molybdenum steel. This datasheet provides information on composition, physical properties, elasticity, and tensile properties as well as fracture toughness. It also includes information on corrosion resistance as well as heat treating, machining, and joining. Filing Code: SA-339. Producer or source: Unicore Inc., United Nuclear Corporation.

Abstract UNIFLUX VCM 225 is a continuous flux-cored welding electrode (wire) that is used to deposit 2-1/4% chromium-1% molybdenum steel weld when used to weld 2-1/4% chromium-1% molybdenum steel for which it was developed. Welding is protected by a shielding atmosphere of 100% carbon dioxide. This datasheet provides information on composition, physical properties, elasticity, and tensile properties as well as fracture toughness. It also includes information on corrosion resistance as well as heat treating, machining, and joining. Filing Code: SA-344. Producer or source: Unicore Inc., United Nuclear Corporation.
