Abstract FAGERSTA M-7 is a molybdenum-type high-speed steel similar to AISI Type M1, but with higher percentages of carbon and vanadium than M1. The higher levels of carbon and vanadium provide an improved cutting efficiency without significantly lowering toughness. The many applications of FAGERSTA M-7 include boring tools, end mills, lathe tools, twist drills, thread-rolling dies and wood-working tools.
