The current study examined factors affecting higher education students’ use of a mobile-based Learning Management System (m-LMS) for distance education during the Corona Virus Disease 2019 (Covid-19). A survey instrument based on the Technology Acceptance Model (TAM) and the Theory of Planned Behavior (TPB) was established and validated. The primary data were gathered from 1032 responses. The data were computed in SmartPLS 3.2. Partial Least Square Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) procedures were conducted to assess the measurement and structural models. The proposed model is valid and reliable. Findings of the study show that relationships emerge in seven out of ten hypotheses. The strongest relationship is between Perceived Usefulness and Attitude while the weakest exists between Perceived Ease of Use and Attitude. This study emphasizes awareness about the use of m-LMS in education, especially during distance education due to pandemics like Covid-19. The model is expected to provide a useful base for future academicians interested in conducting similar topics of research.

Affective and Attitudinal Components in the Practice of Tutors in a Distance Learning Course for Mathematics Teachers AbstractThis paper aims to investigate the knowledge revealed by tutors in a continuing education course for mathematics teachers at distance. Access or Interact? An Analysis of Undergraduate Courses of the Prospective Mathematics Teachers at CEDERJAbstract This article is part from a master's degree research that analyzed aspects of prospective mathematics teachers at the Polo Cederj in Paracambi-RJ. It briefly describes various tools available on the platform and reflects on ways to promote interaction among undergraduates students in Mathematics. It illustrates the access in three subjects (Discrete Mathematics, Pre-Calculus and Didactic of Geometry (DG)) obtained through the log access in the virtual environment in the period from July to December, 2013. It identifies specific times in which prospective teachers seek the tools and use them to make contact with teachers, tutors and fellow course, is to clarify doubt, perform or post activities. These moments are concentrated in the periods of assessment, as an exception to DG subject, in which were found more regular access and evidence to suggest more interaction within virtual environment of course. Keywords: Distance Education, Cederj platform, Undergraduate Mathematics Courses, interaction.

The incorporation of Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) into education systems is an active program and movement in education that illustrates modern education and enables an all-encompassing presence in the third millennium; however, prior to applying ICT, the factors affecting the adoption and use of these technologies should be carefully investigated. The present study was conducted to examine the factors affecting ICT adoption among distance education students based on the Technology Acceptance Model. The present descriptive survey was conducted in a statistical population consisting of all the distance education students residing in Isfahan, Iran, in 2013, 281 of who were selected as the sample population through simple random sampling. The data collection tool used was a researcher-made questionnaire designed based on field studies and using the questionnaires used in studies conducted by Nair (2012), Alanazy (2006) and Wikins (2008). The items in each section were designed based on the constructs and factors forming the Technology Acceptance Model examined in this study. Descriptive and inferential statistics were used to analyze the data in SPSS-21 and LISREL. The results of the analysis showed significant relationships between perceived usefulness and ease of ICT use and the attitude toward the use of these technologies, between the attitude toward ICT use and the decision to use ICT, and also between the decision to use ICT and its actual use.

AbstractIn this study, we address the issue of mathematics teachers' personal and professional responsiveness to changing circumstances, such as the shift in external demands made on teacher practice due to the COVID-19 pandemic. For investigating a such delicate issue, we take a theoretical approach, which is quite novel in the field of mathematics education: Lacan's psychoanalytical lens. Specifically, we will use this psychoanalytical lens to analyze a case study focusing on a primary school teacher during the first lockdown in Italy, during which school was organized exclusively in the form of distance education. The analysis of the teacher’s crisis and the strategies she adopted to overcome this crisis give some suggestions about possible directions and issues to consider for future mathematics teacher training proposals.

Evaluating the effects of the Coronavirus (Covid-19) pandemic on distance education applications in higher education is important for future practice. In this context, the aim of the study is to determine preservice mathematics teachers’ conceptual-procedural knowledge level competencies and general thoughts about distance education in the distance education probability course in the department of mathematics teaching. In the study, a questionnaire consisting of 18 questions was prepared in the light of the literature as a data collection tool for 52 preservice mathematics teachers who took the probability course with distance education in the 2020-2021 academic year. After the implementations, one-to-one interviews were made with the lecturer conducting the course. The data of the study were analysed with the descriptive analysis method. As a result, it was determined that the conceptual-operative knowledge of the preservice mathematics teachers in the probability course in the distance education process was at a medium level. Although it was determined that the participation in online lessons was quite low compared to the lessons taught face-to-face, the preservice teachers mostly followed the lessons from asynchronous recordings, but there was no low performance or unwillingness in the preservice teachers who attended the lessons online. It has been determined that the biggest problem with distance education is the internet access and the low reliability of evaluation process. To increase the reliability, it has been determined that the transition to camera-controlled exams and the use of the safe exam browser (SEB) have been introduced.
