BACKGROUND: The current pandemic crisis evidences the importance of questioning and reconsidering the evolution of organizational proximity and the crucial role of digitalization in the emergence of new characteristics, forms and configurations of organizational proximity. OBJECTIVE: This article presents a conceptual study aimed at analyzing the evolution of organizational proximity in the context of digitalization. METHODS: Adopting a systemic-cognitive approach inspired by existing studies on management cognition and the biology of cognition, this article first presents an analytical review of existing research in organizational studies and proposes a taxonomy of proximity based on the forms and characteristics identified in the organizational context. Second, it introduces the notion of a proximity unit, based on which a conceptual framework for analyzing organizational proximity is conceived. RESULTS: Based on the proposed framework, this article analyzes the new characteristics and forms of organizational proximity and identifies possible configurations of organizational proximity by pointing out the emergence of substituted proximity propelled by digitalization and formulating six propositions. CONCLUSIONS: The article ends by arguing that it is important for organizations to conceive a composite proximity strategy by taking into account the effect of substituted proximity, driven by digitalization, in the configuration of organizational proximity.

Various research on logistics has been conducted to examine Logistics Service Provider (LSP) firm performances in many angles. This is important since logistics service has become an important industry globally and the trend also absorb in Malaysia`s commercial market. Growing in innovation trend was also effected logistics when demand on green logistics take place in international stages on awareness over environmental issues. In line with this development, halal-value creation concept also emerges and constructively contribute to the sustainability of the industry. Therefore, there is a discrepancy in the study of business models, particularly on the firm performance that have not yet been tested in the role of halal and green logistics as a catalyst for marketing strategies that can benefit a company. Thus, this concept paper will conduct an effort and check previous literature related to business performance to see the direct relationship on halal and green logistics as independent variable toward firm`s performance. Through this conceptual study, halal-green logistics will be dedicating as element of sustainability marketing in firm`s performance; which environmental and contamination issues will be highlights and address accordingly. This study will propose Resource-based View Theory as underpinning theory to prove inclination of relationship between variables. Finally, the paper will provide Halal-Logistics Value Chain conceptual framework as initiative to facilitate the global community of researchers and practitioners in understanding the diversity, meaning, and evolution of the halal-green logistics phenomenon in the context of emerging economies, also as improving firm performance.

Globalization is now at its most disjunctive phase in human history. The planetary COVID-19 crisis has combined with the vulnerabilities of global capitalism to break down social routines. Yet, the current moment of the Great Unsettling also offers a critical opportunity to take stock of the present state of globalization. To this end, this article revisits and re-engages some pertinent themes raised in the pathbreaking 1990 TCS Global Culture issue. In particular, the article explores the crucial role of structural divergences that have been developing among major formations of globalization. Gaining a better understanding of the current globalization system requires a new conceptual framework that captures different formations of globalization, ranging from the embodied to the disembodied. The multiple disjunctive relationships that have developed among and within these formations shape not only the morphology of the contemporary globalization system but also cast a long shadow on its future dynamics.

Disruptions carried out by digital startups show a big role of technology-based competencies and  innovations. In fact, both are the results of organizational learning. This paper explores a conceptual framework that links organizational learning with performance through competency development and innovation in Indonesian digital startups. A combination of literature studies on organizational learning and some previous research compared with a number of factual conditions of digital startups in Indonesia, resulting in intended conceptual framework. The authors managed to place technology as a prominent element in each of the proposed variables forming a conceptual framework that links organizational learning with digital startup performance. This conceptual study does not compare the concepts of organizational learning and individual learning in digital startups. Supporting facts used in this study are multi-sector digital startups. So this conceptual framework could be different if applied to specific sectors. Conceptually, organizational learning has the potential to significantly influence the competency development and innovation in Indonesian digital startups.

This article introduces this volume by constructing a model for analysing political discourse as an instrument of conflict and peace, drawing on evidence from the Northern Ireland case. It identifies three processes, or stages, in a peace process in which political discourse can play a unique and crucial role: (i) the construction of a (conceptual) framework within which negotiations can take place, (ii) the facilitation of agreement between moderate and extreme positions, and (iii) the forging of common ground. The motivating thesis of this research is that discourse analysis is a vital resource for deepening our knowledge of why, how and when violence can erupt and peace can be built.

Children's Poetry

Critical attention to children's poetry has been hampered by the lack of a clear sense of what a children's poem is and how children's poetry should be valued. Often, it is seen as a lesser genre in comparison to poetry written for adults. This essay explores the premises and contradictions that inform existing critical discourse on children's poetry and asserts that a more effective way of viewing children's poetry can be achieved through cognitive poetics rather than through comparisons with adult poetry. Arguing that children's poetry preserves the rhythms and pleasures of the body in language and facilitates emotional and physical attunement with others, the essay examines the crucial role children's poetry plays in creating a holding environment in language to help children manage their sensory environments, map and regulate their neurological functions, contain their existential anxieties, and participate in communal life.
