Theoretical applications and practical network algorithms are not very cost-effective, and most of the algorithms in the commercial market are implemented in the cutting-edge devices. Open-source network simulators have gained importance in recent years due to the necessity to implement network algorithms in more realistic scenarios with reasonable costs, especially for educational purposes and scientific researches. Although there have been various simulation tools, NS2 and NS3, OMNeT++ is more suitable to demonstrate network algorithms because it is convenient for the model establishment, modularization, expandability, etc. OMNeT++ network simulator is selected as a testbed in order to verify the correctness of the network algorithms. The study focuses on the algorithms based on centralized and distributed approaches for multi-hop networks in OMNeT++. Two network algorithms, the shortest path algorithm and flooding-based asynchronous spanning tree algorithm, were examined in OMNeT++. The implementation, analysis, and visualization of these algorithms have also been addressed.

Being premature, the traditional data visualization techniques suffer from several challenges and lack the ability to handle a huge amount of data, particularly in gigabytes and terabytes. In this research, we propose an R-tool and data analytics framework for handling a huge amount of commercial market stored data and discover knowledge patterns from the dataset for conveying the derived conclusion. In this chapter, we elaborate on pre-processing a commercial market dataset using the R tool and its packages for information and visual analytics. We suggest a recommendation system based on the data which identifies if the food entry inserted into the database is hygienic or non-hygienic based on the quality preserved attributes. For a precise recommendation system with strong predictive accuracy, we will put emphasis on Algorithms such as J48 or Naive Bayes and utilize the one who outclasses the comparison based on accuracy. Such a system, when combined with R language, can be potentially used for enhanced decision making.

The commercial market for higher education in Europe is expanding as governments cut spending on universities in the wake of the 2008 global economic crisis, and universities must be self-sufficient to survive. This commercialization is mainly reflected in the fact that universities begin to pay more attention to fund accumulation rather than improving academic value. With the continuous increase of tuition fees in colleges and universities, students are regarded as consumers and universities are essential commodities needed by consumers. Although commercialization of higher education has some beneficial aspects, such as more funds for schools to provide students with more advanced equipment and more comfortable learning environment, overall, the threat of commercialization to academic quality and social environment cannot be compensated for by those advantages. This paper aims to find out the two main reasons for the commercialization of higher education and the three threats to the social and academic environment brought by the marketing of higher education. Also, the paper also puts forward corresponding solutions for the three major risks; the two reasons analyzed in this paper are mainly the economic crisis and the development of globalization. The three threats are mainly aimed at the teaching quality of educational value and the financial pressure of students. At the same time, the paper gives three corresponding solutions to the threats. This paper argues that the commercialization of higher education severely hinders the improvement of educational value, reduces teaching quality, and brings heavy pressure to students' economy, which directly hinders the healthy development of higher education. If higher education institutions can adopt corresponding strategies to mitigate the threat of commercialization, the commercialization market of higher education may bring many opportunities for the development of higher education industry.

AbstractUltraviolet C (UVC), or ultraviolet germicidal irradiation (UVGI), is known for its effective air, water, and surface disinfectant properties. With the rise of global awareness about public sanitation and personal hygiene due to the emergence of the current coronavirus disease 2019 pandemic, several applications of UVC were introduced to the commercial market. The present experimental study aimed to evaluate the effectiveness of commercial household UVC germicidal devices for severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) inactivation. Ten UVC devices were included in the study comprising of 7 low-pressure mercury lamps (LPMLs) and 3 UVC- light-emitting diodes (LEDs). Considering applications, 3 were handheld UVGI surface disinfection equipment, 4 were UVGI disinfection chambers, and 3 were movable UVGI air and surface purifiers. To determine SARS-CoV-2 inactivation performance, UVC irradiance (mW/cm2) was measured 3 times repeatedly at distance and duration corresponding to manufacturers’ usage instructions. The required UVC dosage could not be achieved by either of UVC-LED devices (1 handheld UVGI surface disinfection equipment and 2 UVGI disinfection chambers). Five of seven LPMLs can sufficiently emit UVC irradiance for SARS-CoV-2-inactivation. A lack of standardization in the distance and cycle duration for each UVC application was observed. Standard usage guidelines for UVC devices are required to improve the effectiveness of UVC irradiance for SARS-CoV-2 inactivation as well as to minimize the potential side effects of UVC.

Tahura Lati Petangis is a forest park located in Paser Regency, East Kalimantan Province, with the management area in Batu Engau District. Tahura Lati Petangis area has a water source in the form of a lake that can be used to fulfill water resources for the surrounding area. In addition, there are also types of toman fish that have a large enough potential to be exploited. Toman fish is processed into one type of food in the form of shredded. Shredded products will be more valuable in the market if their quality and safety are guaranteed in accordance with SNI quality requirements. This service activity aims to assist community groups around the Tahura area by testing the shredded products. Through this service activity, the quality and safety of shredded toman fish products is maintained for the market, so as to increase the market value of the product. The test results showed that the shredded toman fish had met SNI standards and were free from microbial and metal contamination.

This thesis considers conflicting representational strategies used by Christian missionaries in displaying Melanesian people to white audiences in the West with particular reference to films made during the period of colonial modernity between 1917 and 1935. Most scholarly work on Christian mission in the Pacific has focussed on the nineteenth century and on the effect of Christianisation on indigenous populations, rather than on the effect of mission propaganda on Western communities. This thesis repositions mission propaganda as an important alternative source of visual imagery of the Melanesian ‘Other’ available to white popular audiences. Within a broader commercial market that commodified Western notions of Melanesian ‘savagery’ via illustrated travelogue magazines and commercial multi-media shows, missionaries trod an uneasy knife-edge in how they transmitted indigenous imagery and mediated cultural difference for white consumers. Five case-studies consider missionary propaganda from four Christian denominations in disparate parts of Melanesia. They reveal a temporal trajectory in the conflicted but symbiotic relationship between, on one hand, missionary organisations interested in propagandising their work and, on the other, travelogue-adventurers operating with commercial motives. This trajectory follows missionaries as they move from facilitation of travelogue-adventurers, through passive commissioning of their services, then active collaboration, and finally to autonomous film-making in their own right. I consider how white missionaries played a pivotal role in both enabling and subverting the dominance of the prevailing commercial paradigm of the period: that Melanesians are by nature and definition ‘savages’ and ‘head-hunters’ residing in a thrilling, timeless, virtual place called ‘Cannibal-Land.’ These contradictory impulses, I contend, destabilised both Christian and ‘Cannibal-land’ stereotypes. This destabilising effect was not restricted to film, but I suggest that it was amplified by the use of the quintessentially modern medium of moving images. I argue that film – particularly film made by missionaries – posed an implicit challenge to the essentially literary trope of ‘Cannibal-land’. Moving images offered a more unruly medium within and around which indigenous Melanesians of the colonial era could sometimes display what I term a radical visibility that escaped and transcended both types of Western stereotype.

Serenity is a computer generated ink-wash animated short in which the traditional aesthetics meets the new media. I combined theoretical research and physical experiment to convey a peaceful pleasant feeling with subtle movement. The focus of this thesis is to assess the possibility and capability of digital instruments in simulating the traditional Chinese ink painting and further transplant to three-dimensional (3D) platform. This thesis presents a new approach to practice Chinese painting and to compose an animation by using 3D techniques and non-photorealistic rendering (NPR). The aim for the composition portion of this project is to produce a refreshing animated visual style and to introduce the traditional methods of Chinese painting not only to the west, but also to the new Chinese generation who usually devote their time and energy to the subjects that might guarantee a better university or job. My research draws on the previous ink-wash animations and the visual reference on Chinese painting, and takes advantage of my personal experience in both traditional training and digital media design to exploit a potential path for ink-wash animation in the competitive commercial market. Expanding traditional ink painting into the digital field provides an opportunity for the archaic art form to be communicated and shared widely and efficiently worldwide.

The article focuses on the analysis of the fair, which is a reflection of the image of society, its material and spiritual values. The market, which in the Middle Ages attributed to its role as a commercial market an arena of social, political and cultural life as well, becomes a significant space in the dramaturgy of some films. We will research, in particular, the role and functions of the fair in films inspired from Ion Creanga’s works, starting with Amintiri din copilărie/ Childhood Memories (1965) and Mama/Mother (1976) – both directed by Elisabeta Bostan, Povestea dragostei/The Love Story (1977) and Rămășagul/The Wager (1984) directed by Ion Popescu-Gopo and ending with the film Dănilă Prepeleac (1998) in the vision of Tudor Tătaru. The fair with its full spectrum of elements becomes a phenomenon specific to our Romanian space, which identifies with a mundi axis of the world. All the more so in the film, the fair is assigned determining functions in its dramaturgical structure: the drama of the plot is woven, which provokes the characters to new actions; an identity landscape of space and time is prefigured.
