In indeterminate and inconsistent setting, existing simplified neutrosophic indeterminate set (SNIS) can be depicted by the neutrosophic number (NN) functions of the truth, falsity and indeterminacy. Then, the three NN functions in SNIS lack their refined expressions and then the simplified neutrosophic indeterminate DM method cannot carry out the multicriteria DM problems with both criteria and sub-criteria in the setting of SNISs. To overcome the flaws, this study first proposes a new notion of a refined simplified neutrosophic indeterminate set (RSNIS), which is described by the refined truth, falsity and indeterminate NN information regarding both elements and sub-elements in a universe set, as the extension of SNIS. Next, we propose the arccosine and arctangent similarity measures of RSNISs and their multicriteria decision making (DM) method with various indeterminate risk ranges so as to carry out multicriteria DM problems with weight values of both criteria and sub-criteria in RSNIS setting. Lastly, the proposed DM method is applied to a multicriteria DM example of slope design schemes for an open pit mine to illustrate its application in the indeterminate DM problem with RSNISs. The decision results and comparative analysis indicate the rationality and efficiency of the proposed DM method with different indeterminate risk ranges.

In the real multi-criteria group decision making (MCGDM) problems, there will be an interactive relationship among different decision makers (DMs). To identify the overall influence, we define the Shapley value as the DM’s weight. Entropy is a measure which makes it better than similarity measures to recognize a group decision making problem. Since we propose a relative entropy to measure the difference between two systems, which improves the accuracy of the distance measure. In this paper, a MCGDM approach named as TODIM is presented under q-rung orthopair fuzzy information. The proposed TODIM approach is developed for correlative MCGDM problems, in which the weights of the DMs are calculated in terms of Shapley values and the dominance matrices are evaluated based on relative entropy measure with q-rung orthopair fuzzy information.Furthermore, the efficacy of the proposed Gq-ROFWA operator and the novel TODIM is demonstrated through a selection problem of modern enterprises risk investment. A comparative analysis with existing methods is presented to validate the efficiency of the approach.

Higher-order fuzzy decision-making methods have become powerful tools to support decision-makers in solving their problems effectively by reflecting uncertainty in calculations better than crisp sets in the last 3 decades. Fermatean fuzzy set proposed by Senapati and Yager, which can easily process uncertain information in decision making, pattern recognition, medical diagnosis et al., is extension of intuitionistic fuzzy set and Pythagorean fuzzy set by relaxing the restraint conditions of the support for degrees and support against degrees. In this paper, we focus on the similarity measures of Fermatean fuzzy sets. The definitions of the Fermatean fuzzy sets similarity measures and its weighted similarity measures on discrete and continuous universes are given in turn. Then, the basic properties of the presented similarity measures are discussed. Afterward, a decision-making process under the Fermatean fuzzy environment based on TOPSIS method is established, and a new method based on the proposed Fermatean fuzzy sets similarity measures is designed to solve the problems of medical diagnosis. Ultimately, an interpretative multi-criteria decision making example and two medical diagnosis examples are provided to demonstrate the viability and effectiveness of the proposed method. Through comparing the different methods in the multi-criteria decision making and the medical diagnosis application, it is found that the new method is as efficient as the other methods. These results illustrate that the proposed method is practical in dealing with the decision making problems and medical diagnosis problems.

For multiple attribute decision making, ranking and information aggregation problems are increasingly receiving attention. In a normal neutrosophic number, the ranking method does not satisfy the ranking principle. Moreover, the proposed operators do not take into account the correlation between any aggregation arguments. In order to overcome the deficiencies of the existing ranking method, based on the nonnegative normal neutrosophic number, this paper redefines the score function, the accuracy function, and partial operational laws. Considering the correlation between any aggregation arguments, the dual generalized nonnegative normal neutrosophic weighted Bonferroni mean operator and dual generalized nonnegative normal neutrosophic weighted geometric Bonferroni mean operator were investigated, and their properties are presented. Here, these two operators are applied to deal with a multiple attribute decision making problem. Example results show that the proposed method is effective and superior.

The purpose of this paper is to present a new method to solve the decision-making algorithm based on the cosine similarity and distance measures by utilizing the uncertain and vague information. A complex interval-valued q-rung orthopair fuzzy set (CIVQROFS) is a reliable and competent technique for handling the uncertain information with the help of the complex-valued membership grades. To address the degree of discrimination between the pairs of the sets, cosine similarity measures (CSMs) and distance measures (DMs) are an accomplished technique. Driven by these, in this manuscript, we defined some CSMs and DMs for the pairs of CIVQROFSs and investigated their several properties. Choosing that the CSMs do not justify the axiom of the similarity measure (SM), then we investigate a technique to developing other CIVQROFSs-based SMs using the explored CSMs and Euclidean DMs, and it fulfills the axiom of the SMs. In addition, we find the cosine DMs (CDMs) by considering the inter-relationship between the SM and DMs; then, we have modified the procedure for the rank of partiality by similarity to the ideal solution method for the CDMs under investigation, which can deal with the associated decision-making problems not only individually from the argument of the opinion of geometry but also the fact of the opinion of algebra. Finally, we provide a numerical example to demonstrate the practicality and effectiveness of the proposed procedure, which is also in line with existing procedures. Graphical representations of the measures developed are also used in this manuscript.
