Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui (1) Penerapan manajemen bandwidth menggunakan metode Hierarchical Token Bucket (HTB) pada layanan hotspot mikrotik Undiksha. (2) Hasil pengujian kualitas layanan internet dari parameter Quality of Service (QoS) yang sudah diterapkan menggunakan metode Hierarchical Token Bucket (HTB).Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah menggunakan pendekatan Network Development Life Cycle (NDLC), dengan melalui beberapa tahapan yaitu analisis, desain, simulasi, implementasi, monitoring, dan manajemen. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan (1) Penerapan manajemen bandwidth HTBpada router mikrotik dengan menggabungkan layanan hotspot mikrotik, sudah berjalan dengan baik, yang dibuktikan dengan fungsi dari metode HTB bisa berjalan dengan baik. (2) Hasil pengukuran dengan menggunakan 2 metode manajemen bandwidth, diperoleh hasil rata-rata download dan upload dari metode HTB lebih besar dibandingkan dengan metode simple queue. Dan parameter packet loss, throughput, delay  dan  jitter yang dilakukan uji menggunakan aplikasi wireshark menerangkan bahwa metode HTB mendapatkan nilai rata-rata yang lebih baik dibandingkan dengan metode simple queue.

INTISARIQuality of Service (QoS) adalah cara cerdas untuk mengalokasikan bandwidth yang tersedia. Penggunaan manajemen bandwidth sebagai parameter Quality of Service tidak hanya membatasi tetapi menjaga kualitas bandwidth, sehingga semua pengguna yang terhubung dalam satu jaringan mendapatkan kualitas internet yang merata dan stabil. Ada beberapa cara untuk mengaplikasikan bandwidth managemen untuk meningkatkan Quality of Service, salah satunya yakni menggunakan mikrotik.Ada banyak metode manajemen   bandwidth yang dapat digunakan atau diterapkan pada jaringan yang menggunakan router mikrotik. Adapun yang paling sering digunakan dalam jaringan berskala menengah atau pun besar seperti metode Hierarchical Token Bucket (HTB) dan Per Connection Queue (PCQ).Penelitian ini akan melakukan analisis variabel Quality of Service (QoS) terhadap performa bandwidth dengan membandingkan dua metode antrian yaitu metode Hierarchical Token Bucket (HTB) dan metode Per Connection Queue (PCQ).  Penelitian dilakukan untuk mengetahui metode manakah lebih baik untuk di implementasikan oleh administrator jaringan agar efesien dan tepat untuk digunakan.Kata kunci: Manajemen Bandwidth, QOS, PCQ, HTB, Mikrotik. ABSTRACTQuality of Service (QoS) is a smart way to allocate available bandwidth. The use of bandwidth management as a Quality of Service parameter not only limits but maintains bandwidth quality, so that all users connected in one network get an even and stable internet quality. There are several ways to apply bandwidth management to improve Quality of Service, one of which is using a proxy.There are many bandwidth management methods that can be used or applied to networks that use a proxy router. As for what is most often used in medium or large scale networks such as the Hierarchical Token Bucket (HTB) and Per Connection Queue (PCQ) methods.This study will analyze the Quality of Service (QoS) variable on bandwidth performance by comparing two queuing methods, namely the Hierarchical Token Bucket (HTB) method and the Per Connection Queue (PCQ) method. The study was conducted to determine which method is better for network administrators to implement in order to be efficient and appropriate to use.Keywords: Bandwidth Management, QOS, PCQ, HTB, Mikrotik.

Computer networks have penetrated into various fields including education for the learning process which is used as a medium for delivering scientific concepts to be more attractive and easily accepted. The Muhammadiyah University of Palembang currently has very high mobility, both used for browsing information, downloading data and using other facilities. For the need for bandwidth management to manage each passing data so that the distribution of bandwidth becomes evenly distributed by using the queue tree method that is applied to the proxy. To evaluate internet bandwidth analyze QoS (Quality of Service) using typhoid standardization in terms of measurement of throughput, delay, and packet loss. The results of this study show that the quality of the network with the hierarchical token bucket method is more optimal, this is because the bandwidth will be divided according to the rules applied to bandwidth management and does not cause clients to fight over bandwidth

Abstrack - Bandwidth management at internet service providers is something that must  implement, to avoid bandwidth struggles between clients, and to minimize the waste of available bandwidth. The method used in bandwidth management, including Simple Queue, Queue Treed and Hierarchical Tocken Bucket (HTB) In this method,  the rule will be arranged in a hierarchy consisting of parent rules and child rules. The parent rule will be the parent of all child rules below it. QoS analysis applied to Mikrotik RB951 and Ubuntu Linux based computers, then compare the results of QoS (Quality of Service) between the two devices. The author conducted QoS testing for ten days, two times in 1 day, namely the time of day and night. The best results I get are in the Queue Tree with a final score of 13, While Simple Queue, and HTB with the same value, which is 12.

Peranan dari pembagian quota bandwidth sangat mempengaruhi QoS dari trafik. Oleh Karena itu untuk mendapatkan QoS yang baik, diperlukan pengaturan pemakaian bandwidthh dalam jaringan sebaik mungkin. Cara yang bisa di pakai dengan teknik klasifikasi paket data CBQ (Class Based Queue) yang sudah diterapkan atau HTB (Hierarchy Token Bucket) yang merupakan teknik terbaru. Kualitas layanan jaringan internet IAIN Palopo pada dasarnya sudah memenuhi standar Quality of Service jika dilakukan penerapan Quota Bandwidthh hal ini karena diterapkannya sistem Bandwidthh Controller sehingga performa dari jaringan internet sangat baik. Solusi yang disarankan dalam mengurangi terjadinya pemakaian bandwidth yang overload, dengan cara melakukan pembatasan halaman web yang bersifat hiburan seperti media sosial maupun youtube. Disamping itu juga adanya pemisah jalur koneksi untuk lokal dan internasional. Pemakaian jaringan melebihi total bandwidth akan mengakibatkan terjadinya packet loss. Penelitian ini mengemukakan pentingnya penyedianjaminan QoS yang dilengkapi dengan aplikasi monitoring EtE QM. Lebih jauh, penelitian ini memaparkan arti pentingnya aplikasi monitoring QoS dalam jaringan Internet.

One of the problems frequently encountered by internet users is slow internet access. In particular, when there are many users share the internet bandwidth. This problem may occur as there is no bandwidth management system employed. HTB is one the bandwidth management system available on Linux that can be installed on a network. This research focuses on the implementation of the HTB as a bandwidth management system. Based on the testing done, it is shown that after using HTB as bandwidth manager, internet access can be controlled and every client gets bandwidth as needed. The performance achieved when HTB is employed outperforms the non-HTB scenario. With HTB, the packet loss and failed transaction are reduced more than 90%.Salah satu masalah yang sering dihadapi oleh pengguna internet adalah akses internet yang lambat. Khususnya, ketika ada banyak pengguna berbagi bandwidth internet. Masalah ini dapat terjadi karena tidak ada sistem manajemen bandwidth yang digunakan. HTB adalah salah satu sistem manajemen bandwidth yang tersedia di Linux yang dapat dipasang pada jaringan. Penelitian ini berfokus pada pelaksanaan HTB sebagai sistem manajemen bandwidth. Berdasarkan pengujian dilakukan, menunjukkan bahwa setelah menggunakan HTB sebagai pengatur bandwidth, akses internet dapat dikontrol dan setiap klien mendapatkan bandwidth yang diperlukan. Kinerja yang telah dicapai ketika HTB digunakan melebihi skenario tanpa menggunakan HTB. Dengan menggunakan HTB, jumlah paket yang hilang dan transaksi yang gagal berkurang lebih dari 90%.

Perkembangan zaman yang semakin pesat menuntut adanya layanan informasi yang lebih cepat, tepat, dan akurat menjadikan jaringan komputer sebagai kebutuhan utama. Traffic Shaping dengan Quality of Service (QoS) dapat digunakan dalam mengoptimalkan bandwidth suatu jaringan untuk menentukan jenis-jenis lalu lintas jaringan. Metode Hierarchical Token Bucket (HTB) dapat mengimplementasi pembagian trafik yang lebih akurat, dengan bandwidth yang tidak digunakan dapat dioptimalkan oleh pengguna lain. Hasil traffic shaping menggunakan metode HTB menghasilkan rata-rata indeks QoS yaitu 3,75 dan dapat dikategorikan Baik, dibandingkan sebelum menerapkan traffic shaping yaitu rata-rata 2,25 yang dikategorikan Kurang Baik. Berdasarkan hasil pengujian dapat disimpulkan bahwa kinerja jaringan hotspot dengan Traffic Shaping dan Quality of Service (QoS)  dapat meningkatkan kualitas jaringan daripada sebelumnya.The development of an increasingly rapid era requires the existence of information services that are faster, more precise, and accurate, making computer networks a primary need. Traffic Shaping with Quality of Service (QoS) can be used in optimizing the bandwidth of a network to determine the types of network traffic. The Hierarchical Token Bucket (HTB) method can implement more accurate traffic sharing, with unused bandwidth being optimized by other users. The results of traffic shaping using the HTB method produces an average QoS index of 3.75 and can be categorized Good, compared to before applying traffic shaping which is an average of 2.25 which is categorized as Poor. Based on the test results it can be concluded that the performance of hotspot networks with Traffic Shaping and Quality of Service (QoS) can improve network quality than before.

In this paper, we construct a new dynamic model for the Token Bucket (TB) algorithm used in computer networks and use systems approach for its analysis. This model is then augmented by adding a dynamic model for a multiplexor at an access node where the TB exercises a policing function. In the model, traffic policing, multiplexing and network utilization are formally defined. Based on the model, we study such issues as (quality of service) QoS, traffic sizing and network dimensioning. Also we propose an algorithm using feedback control to improve QoS and network utilization. Applying MPEG video traces as the input traffic to the model, we verify the usefulness and effectiveness of our model.
