The research aims to examine the impact of entrepreneurial self-efficacy and entrepreneurial motivation on the success of the food and beverage (F&B) sector’s micro and small enterprises (MSEs). The sample was selected using purposive sampling techniques from 267 MSE owners in the F&B businesses in Madiun City, Madiun Regency, and Magetan Regency, East Java, Indonesia. The test results of the hypothesis showed that: (1) partially, self-efficacy entrepreneurship and entrepreneurial motivation are significantly positive on business success in micro and small F&B businesses in East Java, Indonesia; (2) entrepreneurial motivation acts as a partial mediation of the influence of self-efficacy entrepreneurship on the business success of micro and small businesses in the field of food and beverage in East Java, Indonesia; abd (3) simultaneously, self-efficacy entrepreneurship and the influence of entrepreneurial motivation are significantly positive on business success in micro and small businesses in the food and beverage fields of East Java, Indonesia. The results showed that self-efficacy and motivation in entrepreneurship are necessary because they affect business success, particularly in micro and small F&B businesses in Indonesia. Further research can explore other factors that influence business success by expanding the research area and other types of creative industry businesses. Further research could explore other factors influencing business success by expanding research areas, such as entrepreneurial leadership and innovative work behavior.

Preparing the college students to be ready to perform their innovative work behavior optimally is essential, especially in supporting organizational and national innovation for the SDGs’ success. One way is by examining how the students perceive their abilities, potential, and roles in the learning environment. The researchers believe that the relationship between the learner empowerment and innovative work behavior will have a more significant influence when they can also realize the learner empowerment into creative self-efficacy. The research respondents are 539 third semester students or higher from Universitas Indonesia. This quantitative research uses the Innovative Work Behavior Scale, the Learner Empowerment Scale, and the Creative Self-Efficacy Scale. The mediation analysis results show that creative self-efficacy has a partial mediating effect on learner empowerment’s relation to innovative work behavior. The three dimensions of the learner empowerment (meaningfulness, competence, and impact) are also significantly related to the innovative work behavior, with the impact as the strongest correlating dimension. This research can be used as input for developing the learning programs, both curricular and extracurricular, to perform innovative work behavior optimally.

The objective of this research is to examine the relationship between Proactive Personality, innovative work behavior, and work engagement. The sample consists of 220 respondent managers in the Aviation Industry in the UAE. Results of Structural Equation Modelling using SmartPLS revealed that there are significant relationships between Proactive Personality and innovative work behavior, and between Innovative Work Behavior and Work Engagement.

Purpose The purpose of this study is to investigate the impact of humor work climate on innovative work behavior of back-office employees in the banking industry in Russia. Design/methodology/approach Data was collected via an online survey that included scales to measure humor climate and innovative work behavior. The survey was distributed electronically among employees of one department of a bank. The sample included 104 back-office employees (response rate 60.4%). Correlation and regression analyses were used. Findings The results indicate that humor climate fosters employee innovative work behavior. Positive humor contributes to innovative work behavior more than remaining humor climate dimensions (i.e. negative humor, outgroup humor and supervisory support). Only position type (managers vs non-managers), and not gender, education and job tenure, was found to have a significant impact on employee perceptions of humor climate and innovative work behavior exhibition. Originality/value This study adds to the limited empirical evidence on the links between humor and innovative work behavior, especially at a group level. This study focused on humor climate as a multidimensional construct, whereas previous research mostly explored positive forms of humor in relation to different social aspects of the organization. To the best of authors’ knowledge, this study is first to use a validated scale to explore connections between innovative work behavior and humor climate.

The COVID-19 pandemic has created devastating consequences for all businesses globally, including the small businesses in Bangladesh. The small business sector in Bangladesh is a key driver of its economic growth and has been hit particularly hard by the pandemic due to its pre-existing vulnerabilities and lower resilience to crisis. This chapter investigates the impact of COVID-19 on small-scale businesses, their subsequent response measures, and learning experiences that have created a route to resilience. A qualitative investigation on six small-scale enterprises across manufacturing and service areas was included in the study. The cases covered fashion and clothing and organic food and beverage businesses. The findings of the study suggest that the impacts of the pandemic are primarily financial, operational and supply chain, and logistical in nature. The policymakers need to take urgent measures to ensure the sustainability of this sector amid the ongoing pandemic.

The objective of the present study is to investigate the impact of inclusive leadership on project success with the mediating role of innovative work behavior and moderating role of knowledge sharing. Data were collected from information technology projects in Pakistan. After validating the proposed model, path analysis was conducted. The findings revealed that inclusive leadership is significantly related with innovative work behavior and project success. Further, the findings showed that innovative work mediates the relationship between inclusive leadership and project success. Moreover, knowledge sharing doesn't moderate the relationship between inclusive leadership and innovative work behavior. The theoretical and practical implications and limitations of the study are discussed in detail.

Purpose This paper aims to examine the consequences for innovative work behavior (IWB) of top-down knowledge hiding – that is, supervisors’ knowledge hiding from supervisees (SKHS). Drawing on social learning theory, the authors test the three-way moderated-mediation model in which the direct effect of SKHS on IWB is first mediated by self-efficacy and then further moderated by supervisor and supervisee nationality (locals versus foreigners). Design/methodology/approach The authors collected multi-sourced data from 446 matched supervisor-supervisee pairs working in a diverse range of organizations operating in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. After initial data screening, confirmatory factor analysis was conducted to test for the factorial validity of the used measures with AMOS. The hypothesized relationships were tested in regression analysis with SPSS. Findings Results showed that SKHS had both direct and mediation effects, via the self-efficacy mediator, on supervisee IWB. The mediation effect was further moderated by supervisor and supervisee nationality (local versus foreigners), which highlighted that the effect was stronger for supervisor–supervisee pairs that were local-local or foreigner-foreigner than for pairs that were local-foreigner or foreigner-local. Originality/value This study contributes to both knowledge hiding and IWB literature and discusses the useful theoretical and practical implications of the findings.

The aim of this review was to get insight into the impact of learning behaviors on innovative behavior in work teams. We addressed this issue by carrying out a systematic literature review. Thirty-one articles that reported studies on learning and innovation development in work teams were included in the review. By integrating the correlational findings of the original studies, we found that, at large, all investigated team learning behaviors had an effect on aspects of team innovative work behavior. Concerning specific team learning behaviors, sharing, team reflection, and team activity had the strongest impact on teams’ engagement in innovation development. A central conclusion is that learning and innovation development are mutually dependent aspects of teamwork and that fostering one aspect will also be beneficial for the other. Based on our findings, we draw practical implications for fostering team development through enhancing learning behaviors and innovative work behavior in teams.

This study is an attempt to find out the impact of knowledge sharing on the innovative work behavior of employees working in telecommunication sector of China. Particularly, the focus of this study is on the two important dimensions of knowledge sharing namely knowledge donating and knowledge collecting. For this purpose, data of 200 employees from telecommunication sector of China was collected and analyzed through correlation and multiple regression techniques. The results suggest that both knowledge donating and knowledge collecting are positively and significantly affect the innovative work behavior of the employees working in telecommunication industry. However, knowledge collecting was found as a better contributor in facilitating the employee innovative work behavior.
