In this paper, we study an iteration process introduced by Thakur et al. for Suzuki mappings in Banach spaces, in the new context of modular vector spaces. We establish existence results for a more recent version of Suzuki generalized non-expansive mappings. The stability and data dependence of the scheme for ρ -contractions is studied as well.

Kannan maps have inspired a branch of metric fixed point theory devoted to the extension of the classical Banach contraction principle. The study of these maps in modular vector spaces was attempted timidly and was not successful. In this work, we look at this problem in the variable exponent sequence spaces lp(·). We prove the modular version of most of the known facts about these maps in metric and Banach spaces. In particular, our results for Kannan nonexpansive maps in the modular sense were never attempted before.

In this paper, we prove some weak and strong convergence results for generalized [Formula: see text]-nonexpansive mappings using [Formula: see text] iteration process in the framework of Banach spaces. This generalizes former results proved by Ullah and Arshad [Numerical reckoning fixed points for Suzuki’s generalized nonexpansive mappings via new iteration process, Filomat 32(1) (2018) 187–196].

LetX,Ybe vector spaces andka fixed positive integer. It is shown that a mappingf(kx+y)+f(kx-y)=2k2f(x)+2f(y)for allx,y∈Xif and only if the mappingf:X→Ysatisfiesf(x+y)+f(x-y)=2f(x)+2f(y)for allx,y∈X. Furthermore, the Hyers-Ulam-Rassias stability of the above functional equation in Banach spaces is proven.

This paper provides a new, symmetric, nonexpansiveness condition to extend the classical Suzuki mappings. The newly introduced property is proved to be equivalent to condition (E) on Banach spaces, while it leads to an entirely new class of mappings when going to modular vector spaces; anyhow, it still provides an extension for the modular version of condition (C). In connection with the newly defined nonexpansiveness, some necessary and sufficient conditions for the existence of fixed points are stated and proved. They are based on Mann and Ishikawa iteration procedures, convenient uniform convexities and properly selected minimizing sequences.

Using fixed point method, we prove the generalized Hyers-Ulam stability of the following additive-quadratic-cubic-quartic functional equationf(x+2y)+f(x−2y)=4f(x+y)+4f(x−y)−6f(x)+f(2y)+f(−2y)−4f(y)−4f(−y)in non-Archimedean Banach spaces.
