In this paper, the non-eigenvalue forms of Liouville’s formulas for delta, nabla and α -diamond matrix dynamic equations on time scales are given and proved. Meanwhile, a diamond matrix exponential function (or α -matrix exponential function) is introduced and some classes of homogenous linear diamond- α dynamic equations which possess the α -matrix exponential solutions is studied. The difference and relation of non-eigenvalue forms of Liouville’s formulas among these representative types of dynamic equations is investigated. Moreover, we establish some sufficient conditions to guarantee transformational relation of Liouville’s formulas and exponential solutions among these types of matrix dynamic equations. In addition, we provide several examples on various time scales to illustrate the effectiveness of our result.

Abstract In this study, we obtain the scalar and matrix exponential functions through a series of quaternion-valued functions on time scales. A sufficient and necessary condition is established to guarantee that the induced matrix is real-valued for the complex adjoint matrix of a quaternion matrix. Moreover, the Cauchy matrices and Liouville formulas for the quaternion homogeneous and nonhomogeneous impulsive dynamic equations are given and proved. Based on it, the existence, uniqueness, and expressions of their solutions are also obtained, including their scalar and matrix forms. Since the quaternion algebra is noncommutative, many concepts and properties of the non-quaternion impulsive dynamic equations are ineffective, we provide several examples and counterexamples on various time scales to illustrate the effectiveness of our results.

A class of third-order nonlinear delay dynamic equations on time scales is studied. By using the generalized Riccati transformation and the inequality technique, four new sufficient conditions which ensure that every solution is oscillatory or converges to zero are established. The results obtained essentially improve earlier ones. Some examples are considered to illustrate the main results.

As an effective tool to unify discrete and continuous analysis, time scale calculus have been widely applied to study dynamic systems in both theoretical and practical aspects. In addition to such a classical role of unification, the dynamic equations on time scales have their own unique features which the difference and differential equations do not possess and these advantages have been highlighted in describing some complicated dynamical behavior in the hybrid time process. In this review article, we conduct a survey of abstract analysis and applied dynamic equations on hybrid time scales, some recent main results and the related developments on hybrid time scales will be reported and the future research related to this research field is discussed. The results presented in this article can be extended and generalized to study both pure mathematical analysis and real applications such as mathematical physics, biological dynamical models and neural networks, etc.

This paper makes a study on the existence of positive solution top-Laplacian dynamic equations on time scales𝕋. Some new sufficient conditions are obtained for the existence of at least single or twin positive solutions by using Krasnosel'skii's fixed point theorem and new sufficient conditions are also obtained for the existence of at least triple or arbitrary odd number positive solutions by using generalized Avery-Henderson fixed point theorem and Avery-Peterson fixed point theorem. As applications, two examples are given to illustrate the main results and their differences. These results are even new for the special cases of continuous and discrete equations, as well as in the general time-scale setting.

We first introduce the concept of admitting an exponential dichotomy to a class of linear dynamic equations on time scales and study the existence and uniqueness of almost periodic solution and its expression form to this class of linear dynamic equations on time scales. Then, as an application, using these concepts and results, we establish sufficient conditions for the existence and exponential stability of almost periodic solution to a class of Hopfield neural networks with delays. Finally, two examples and numerical simulations given to illustrate our results are plausible and meaningful.

AbstractIn this paper, a class of fourth-order nonlinear neutral dynamic equations on time scales is investigated. We obtain some sufficient conditions for the existence of nonoscillatory solutions tending to zero with some characteristics of the equations by Krasnoselskii’s fixed point theorem. Finally, two interesting examples are presented to show the significance of the results.
