Abstract The application of geodetic methods to examine structures consists in the determination of their displacements relative to an established geodetic reference datum or in the definition of the geometry of their individual components. Such examinations form a picture of changes happening between specific points in time. Modern measurement technologies used in geodetic engineering enable undertaking more and more challenging measurements with increasing accuracy. The purpose of this article is to present a measurement technique involving a Leica TDRA 6000 total station to measure displacements in engineering structures. The station features a direct drive technology to achieve an accuracy of 0.25 mm in 3-dimensional measurements. Supported by appropriate software, the unit makes a perfect instrument for the monitoring of civil engineering structures. The article presents the results of measurement of static and dynamic displacements in a few engineering structures. The measurements were carried out both in laboratory conditions and on actual, operated civil engineering structures.

To full utilization of crushed straw in civil engineering industry is necessary to know its technical parameters. During previous projects on VŠB – TUO, Faculty of Civil Engineering have found parameters like settlement, thermal conductivity or airborne sound insulation. The research on these parameters have had favorable results, therefore the research is going on and other characteristics of crushed straw are finding out. These days the research team deals with determination of important fire characteristics of crushed straw. Fire characteristics play substantial character by building materials and their design in buildings. Nature materials are generally regarded as flammable. If some material is pressed, the same rule as in the phonebook – if you ignite one sheet of paper, it burns. But if you try to ignite the whole phonebook, it will be not so easy. This article is reported the first step of research on the reaction to fire. This is the preliminary classification of crushed straw into reaction to fire. The test was made according to methods which are described below. There are some changes in methods due to different structures of crushed straw.

Kata kunci: Sistem Pendukung Keputusan, Fuzzy SugenoAbstractThis research emphasizes on the application of Fuzzy Sugeno method in Decision Support System for Determining Concentration of Students Civil Engineering at Case Study of Civil Engineering Department of State Polytechnic of Sriwijaya. The fuzzy sugeno method is done by defining input and output stages, fuzzy set formation and completion using fuzzy sugeno method. The result is fuzzy sugeno method can solve problem in Determining Concentration of Students Civil Engineering at Case Study. In addition, Computer Based Decision Support System for Determination of Civil Engineering Student Concentration using Fuzzy Sugeno resulted in the percentage of eligibility of each concentration of civil engineering department and give the most appropriate concentration recommendation for the students. Keywords: Decision Support System, Fuzzy Sugeno

Construction projects are usually associated with several challenges owing to the varying process during the project lifetime. Hence, the final cost of any civil engineering project is influenced by many factors. There are numerous ways of determining the final cost of a project, however, the most essential approach is the Estimate at Completion (EAC) technique. This technique is mostly favored because it considers the probability of risks and project performance. Furthermore, EAC helps project managers in the definition and determination of the critical problems expected during the project period and the likely solutions toward these problems. In this review research, the basic empirical, regression and advanced soft computing methodologies adopted for the EAC computation, were surveyed and reported in detail. The review established on the base to recognize the modern advancement of the soft computing in computing the EAC with accurate, reliable and robust manner. The review was highlighted the main literature limitation, current status and possible future direction.

In this paper, mechanical properties of the mechanical systems that have certain symmetries are determined. Similar problems occur frequently in engineering applications and civil engineering where many mechanical systems used in these areas exhibit symmetrical properties resulting from the design process, fabrication reasons, simplicity, cost, or logistics. The paper aims to determine the properties of the eigenvalues and the eigenmodes of transverse vibrations in a mechanical system with beams where two of the three beams were identical. The determination of these properties allows us to reduce the calculus effort and the computation time and, in addition, increases the accuracy of the results.
