In this study, the effects of different fiber cross-sectional shapes and yarn linear density values on Partially Oriented Yarn (POY) and textured yarn characteristics have been examined. In experiment, five different cross-sectional shapes, namely round, trilobal, tetra, hexsa and octolobal and two different linear densities have been used and tenacityelongation, crimp and shrinkage tests have been applied to the yarns. As a result, the round and octolobal crosssectional shapes lead to yarn formation with high tenacity and breaking elongation, on the other hand trilobal and hexsa cause low tenacity and breaking elongation. The round cross-section has provided yarn formation with high crimp and low shrinkage, the hexsa and tetra cross-sectional shapes have caused lower crimp and high shrinkage. It was also observed that the increase in the linear density has caused a decrease in yarn tenacity, however this has increased the crimp and shrinkage behaviours of the yarns.

The transmitted text of line 13, ‘inter geminas…frontes’, has long presented an anomaly in the description of the decorated papyrus roll. If, in the context of book production, frons means the flat, round cross section located at either end of the rolled up book (TLL 6.1.1362, 84) and if cornu means an ornamental projection attached to the ends of the umbilicus and extending beyond the plane of the frons, then the transmitted text is a physical impossibility. For it is the frontes that lie between the cornua and not the other way round. In the words of Heyne's paraphrase: ‘geminae frontes inter duo cornua, non duo cornua inter geminas frontes.’ Emendation is required not only because an author is unlikely to be inaccurate or imprecise about the physical details of his book but also because the transmitted text can be salvaged only by recourse to tortuous theories about the meaning of cornu and frons, about their locations with respect to one another, and about the interpretation of inter with geminas.

Background and Objectives: On March 11, the World Health Organization stated coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) was a global pandemic; the rapid and extended spread of the COVID-19 pandemic has become a significant cause of concern for face-to-face university study. This study investigated the knowledge and awareness of chemical engineering students in Al-Balqa Applied University (BAU) in Jordan about respiratory protective measures against COVID-19.Materials and Methods: A cross-sectional study was developed using a multi-stage random sampling technique conducted from April 21–28, 2020. The data were collected through an online questionnaire distributed to BAU's chemical engineering students, with 179 responders completed the survey correctly. The data were analyzed statistically using the SPSS program. The questionnaire consisted of two parts: the first measured the student's general knowledge about the COVID-19 pandemic, while the second focused on the respiratory protection methods against COVID-19; it was structured to assess the student's knowledge about the suitable types of masks and respirators used in COVID-19 prevention, their detailed mechanism of action and filtration process type, their production materials, and finally how the student's knowledge affects choosing a proper preventive method.Results: The study found moderate awareness among engineering students about COVID-19 causative agent, effective preventive masks/respirators used, and the mask's viral blockage mechanisms. A total of 89 respondents (49.7%) pointed to the correct best protective mask, i.e., N95 mask. On the other hand, 119 respondents (66.5%) believed that a surgical mask is the best protective mask. The study also showed differences in knowledge between different academic years; the knowledge about respirators, masks, and their action mechanism among senior students in the last three academic years was better than the younger students with a P-value of 0.047 for knowledge about respirator used for protection against coronavirus disease and the P-value of 0.028 for knowledge of the comparisons between the N95 and surgical mask. On the other hand, the study showed a lack of awareness of the most suitable mask types used in pandemics and the appropriate use method.Conclusions: The study found that chemical engineering students in Al-Balqa university were moderately knowledgeable regarding COVID-19 respiratory preventive methods; these results provided an overview of each student's community's knowledge level. Therefore, efforts are needed to improve public awareness through comprehensive educational campaigns to increase students' knowledge, attitude, and practice.

Background: The Orthopaedic and Traumatology Hospital had an increase in employee turnover of 1.39% from January to June 2012. It occurred due to high resignation and employee unsatisfaction. Thus, an organizational culture that consists of clan, hierarchy, market, and adhocracy becomes one of the determinant factors for employee turnover.Aims: This study aims to analyze the correlation between organizational culture and the employees’ job satisfaction.Method: This study used descriptive quantitative with a cross-sectional design, and the data were analyzed with a correlation test. There were 52 employees as the data of this study. The instruments utilized were OCAI and JSS questionnaires.Results: Market-type organization correlated significantly with job satisfaction. Organizational culture type, such as clan-type organization, adhocracy-type organization, and the hierarchy-type organization did not correlate significantly with job satisfaction. The majority of employees perceived that the Orthopedic and Traumatology Hospital adopts a hierarchy-type organization orienting to regulation and leadership. On the other hand, they expected the hospital to apply clan-type organizations that concerned about teamwork and ownership.Conclusion: There is a correlation between the market-type organization and job satisfaction. Meanwhile, there is no correlation between the clan-type organization, adhocracy-type organization, hierarchy-type organization, and job satisfaction. The hospital should increase internal strength, such as teamwork, training, facilities, and policies that support work procedures and staff.Keywords: market, adhocracy, clan, hierarchy, employees’ job satisfaction.

An iron sword of anthropoid-hilted type (pl. XXIV, 1, 3) was found in 1944 at Shouldham in West Norfolk, some five miles east of the margin of the Fens, and since 1949 has been on loan to Norwich Castle Museum. It is here published by kind permission of the owner, Mr W. R. O. Woodward. The sword was discovered while gravel was being dug in an arable field about 200 feet south-east of the site of the medieval church of St. Margaret, which fell into ruins after the Reformation. The sword was found at a depth of 1 foot 6 inches lying across the chest of an extended human skeleton inside the boundary of the medieval churchyard, as graves of that period were found adjacent though they had not disturbed this pre-Christian inhumation. There is no indication either on the ground or on air-photographs that a barrow had formerly existed, and the burial is probably to be regarded as an isolated interment.The overall length of the sword, to the end of the branching arms, is now 21⅜ in. (54 cm.), but this has been slightly diminished by corrosion. The straight-edged blade is 16⅜ in. (44 cm.) long and the hilt measures 3¼ in. (8 cm.). At both ends of the hilt curving arms of round cross-section branch outwards to end in knobs, now of unequal size owing to differential rusting. The surface of the grip bears traces of transverse ribbing, perhaps imitating that found in bronze on other examples of the type.

Automotive seating fabrics are assembled into complete trims by sewing process, which plays an important role on the quality of automotive seat. This paper was written based on study of the influence of the distance between stitch and selvage, gauge distance, and the type of sewing thread on automotive woven seating fabric. Furthermore, the influences of each factor and the optimum parameters were obtained by the single-factor experiments and orthogonal experiment. The results showed that sewing strength and breaking elongation are increased with increasing the distance between stitch and selvage, and are decreased with the gauge distance. On the other hand, when the distance between stitch and selvage is 8cm, the gauge distance is 2cm, and the fineness of sewing thread is 168tex, its twist is 34.18, and the break strength 72.44N, sewing strength and elongation of this kind of seating fabric are the highest.

Conventional approach to detect the internal defect of a component needs sensors to mark the “zero” positions, which is time-consuming and lowers down the detecting efficiency. In this study, we proposed a novelty approach that uses spatial spectroscopy to detect internal defect of objects without zero-position sensors. Specifically, the spatial variation wave of distance between the detecting source and object surface is analyzed, from which a periodical cycle is determined with the correlative approaches. Additionally, a wavelet method is adopted to reduce the noise of the periodic distance signal. This approach is validated by the ultrasound detection of a component with round cross section and elliptical shape in axis. The experimental results demonstrate that this approach greatly saves the time spent on the judgment of a complete cycle and improves the detecting efficiency of internal defect in the component. The approach can be expanded to other physical methods for noninvasive detection of internal defect, such as optical spectroscopy or X-ray scanning, and it can be used for hybrid medium, such as biological tissues.
