Vehicular ad-hoc network is a sub class of mobile ad-hoc network (MANET) with a difference of having moving vehicles as nodes. Todays, it is growing very fast. ITS have two key components self-organized and key component for VANETs. In Vehicular ad hoc network (VANET) vehicles can share data and communicate without infrastructure with other vehicles and road side units (RSU). These networks are having highly dynamic topology with fast moving vehicles and frequent disconnection properties. It requires handover management and an efficient routing algorithm. This research paper contains a network which is the combination of vehicular nodes, road side unit (RSU), and WiMax. This paper also proposed an optimized routing algorithm for handover management in VANET. This algorithm is compared with RBRA. The paper results that the proposed algorithm has minimum transmission time and minimum request block rate.

Vehicular Ad-hoc Network (VANET) is the form of mobile ad-hoc network (MANET) in which the movement of vehicle is restricted by direction of road and traffic regulation. Real-world applications of vehicular communications are restricted due to rigidity in the deployment of protocol. To cover up this limitation in VANET, Software Defined Network (SDN) should be used for better utilization of channels and wireless resources. Due to dynamic nature of vehicles, finding and maintaining data dissemination is essential. Various applications uses different data from different sources, but for short period, high speed vehicles lives in the locality of road side unit (RSU) which results in latency issue. Therefore, to reduce delay scheduling of data is important so that it can serve as much requests as possible. The paper aims to implement SDN architecture along with flow management and Cooperative Data Dissemination (CDD) algorithm which will increase the speed of data dissemination. The performance of proposed algorithm is analyzed on the basic of parameters such as service ratio, service delay and gain of scalability. System performance is improved by improving CDD with peer to peer network.

A Vehicular Ad-Hoc Network, or VANET, is a form of Mobile Ad-Hoc Network to provide communications among nearby vehicles and between vehicles and nearby fixed equipments. Security has become a prime concern in providing communication between these vehicles. Unlike wired networks, the characteristics of Vehicular Ad Hoc Networks (VANETs) pose a number of non-trivial challenges to security design. In this paper, the authors present a threshold security mechanism with a mobility based Clustering for Open Inter Vehicle Communication Networks (COIN). Nodes that have a similar moving pattern are grouped into a cluster, and unlike other clustering algorithms, it takes the moving pattern of the vehicles into consideration with the driver’s intention. The stability of clusters is estimated based on relative mobility of cluster members. A threshold cryptographic scheme is employed on top of the clusters to protect routing information and data traffic. To ensure distributed trust in the clustered environment, the private key (k) is divided into n pieces in such a way that k is easily reconstructable from any p number of pieces.
