The purpose of this study, to determine the most suitable model for motivation in language learning. It aims to ensure the significant relationship between the exogenous variable: writing strategy, study habits, classroom climate, and the endogenous variable in language learning motivation. In addition, non-experimental correlational research design and structural equation models to determine the most appropriate motivational model in motivation language learning. However, a stratified random sampling technique to select 436 participants from ninth-grade students from secondary public schools in Region XI. The following statistic used: mean, Pearson r, regression, and structural equation model (SEM). The exogenous variables have a significant correlation with endogenous variables that the fifth model adapted result of the study. In connection with, exogenous variables acquired a high descriptive level. The writing strategy includes planning, implementation, and revision; study habits include: time management, learning environment, forecasting skills and preparation, note-taking, reading skills, writing skills, and language skills; classroom climate includes: teacher support, student independence, interaction, and collaboration in class; and the endogenous variable acquired a high descriptive level of motivation in language learning that included: instrumental and integrative motivation. KEYWORDS: education, writing strategies, study habits, classroom climate, language learning motivation, structural model, Philippines

PurposeThe aim of the study is to investigate whether architectural education has a positive attitude toward entrepreneurship and it encourages to have management skills. The hypothesis is based on the fact that core courses in architectural education have an impact on individuals' entrepreneurial intentions.Design/methodology/approachThe correlation of design, construction and technology courses with entrepreneurship intentions, namely, learning motivation, a motivation on innovation, a progressive attitude and self-efficacy as an outcome, was investigated in senior-year students of architecture enrolled in six universities of Turkey. The data collected were analyzed through the structural equation model, which mainly focuses on the causal relationships between chosen variables.FindingsThe initial outcome is that learning motivation, attitude and self-efficacy through design courses have an effect on entrepreneurship. However, contrary to expectations, it was found that innovation does not have an effect on entrepreneurial intention. Furthermore, while innovation, attitude and self-efficacy through construction courses have an impact on entrepreneurial intent, learning motivation does not. Finally, it was revealed that attitude, self-efficacy, innovation and learning motivation affect entrepreneurial intention through technology courses.Originality/valueEntrepreneurship skills are generally considered within the field of interest by business schools. Even though there exist some studies into entrepreneurial architecture education, they are few in numbers, and they usually evaluate the problem mainly through a qualitative research. This study could be regarded as a different research in terms of its traditional perspective, and it investigates the role of entrepreneurial intent in a “technical” discipline such as architecture.

This study investigated multiple learning motivation aspects of Chinese university students in Macau majoring in Spanish and Portuguese. A mixed methods research was employed by using questionnaires and interviews. 181 learners (96 Portuguese and 85 Spanish majors) were surveyed about ten language-learning motivation dimensions by using a questionnaire. A subset of participants from questionnaires were later given follow-up interviews. Quantitative and qualitative data indicated that the students in these majors had strong intrinsic motivation but limited integrative motivation towards the target language community. Other motivational pull-factors were the heritage connection between the language and the place of study and interest in the pop-culture associated related to the target language. Students reported a decline in motivation during the middle years of study, however, Spanish students’ interest resurged by the end of year three. There was also a gender imbalance, suggesting that career-related aspects of motivations were stronger among males. The results also revealed that language learners had an ideal-self that was multilingual and cosmopolitan but did not aspire to integrate into a specific target-language community.

Workload, problem management and task completion in forestry are the work entrusted to the Forestry Extension Workers. In the highly complex condition of forestry problems, Forestry Extension Workers are needed to bridge and outline the problems and to prevent the emergence of deeper, more widespread and prolonged problems. The problems served as the background for the writer to conduct the study in the thesis completion in the Master of Management Program. The problems are related to the effects of competence, compensation and career development factors of the Forestry Extension Workers working in the Ministry of Environment and Forestry and the performance expected to achieve the completion of forestry extension works. The data analysis used to explain the effects of competence, compensation and career development and the performance of Forestry Extension Workers was the Structural Equation Model (SEM) with Smart PLS. Based on the estimations and t-values, it can be concluded that the exogenous variables of compensation and career development affect the endogenous latent factor of the performance of Forestry Extension workers (?), whereas competence has no effect on the performance of Forestry Extension Workers.
