In this paper, by considering the concept of set-valued nonlinear P-contraction which is newly introduced, we present some new fixed point theorems for set-valued mappings on complete metric space. Then by considering a single-valued case we provide an existence and uniqueness result for a kind of second order two point boundary value problem.

AbstractThe aim of this paper is to introduce a new class of mixed contractions which allow to revise and generalize some results obtained in [6] by R. Gubran, W. M. Alfaqih and M. Imdad. We also provide an example corresponding to this class of mappings and show how the new fixed point result relates to the above-mentioned result in [6]. Further, we present an application to the solvability of a two-point boundary value problem for second order differential equations.

This paper shows the existence of multiple positive solutions iffis semipositone and superlinear. The arguments are based upon fixed-point theorems in a cone.

In this paper, we derive existence and uniqueness results for a nonlinear Caputo–Riemann–Liouville type fractional integro-differential boundary value problem with multi-point sub-strip boundary conditions, via Banach and Krasnosel’skii⏝’s fixed point theorems. Examples are included for the illustration of the obtained results.

Our analysis relies on a fixed point theorem in partially ordered metric spaces.

We consider a high-order three-point boundary value problem. Firstly, some new existence results of at least one positive solution for a noneigenvalue problem and an eigenvalue problem are established. Our approach is based on the application of three different fixed point theorems, which have extended and improved the famous Guo-Krasnosel’skii fixed point theorem at different aspects. Secondly, some examples are included to illustrate our results.

In the recent paper (B. Samet, C. Vetro, and P. Vetro, Fixed point theorems forα-ψ-contractive type mappings, Nonlinear Analysis. Theory, Methods and Applications, 75 (2012), 2154-2165.), the authors introduced the concept ofα-admissible maps on metric spaces. Using this new concept, they presented some nice fixed point results. Also, they gave an existence theorem for integral equation to show the usability of their result. Then, many authors focused on this new concept and obtained a lot of fixed point results, which are used for existence theorems. In this paper, we not only extend some of the recent results about this direction but also generalize them. Then, we give some examples to show our results are proper extensions. Furthermore, we use our results to obtain the existence and uniqueness result for a solution of fourth order two-point boundary value problem.
