Impression making is the primary step in the process of fabrication of prosthetic restoration. Dimensional stability, Surface detail reproduction, and compatibility with gypsum products is an essential prerequisite for a successful restoration. Clinically, the accuracy of impressions depends on two major aspects: 1) Ability to ow and adapt intimately to the relevant surfaces while making the impression, and 2) the wetting of the polymerized impression material by the gypsum. The purpose of this study is to evaluate and compare the surface detail reproduction of BD Impress and Nexus Medodent impression material. The results showed signicant difference in surface detail between the two thermoplastic impression materials with p-value <0.05. It was observed that comparison of mean scores obtained by BD Impress and Nexus Medodent impression material are 2.7556 and 2.2222 respectively. The materials with minimum mean score value is considered as the material with good surface detail reproduction. Thus one can conclude that Nexus Medodent thermoplastic material has the good surface detail reproduction compared to BD Impress thermoplastic material.

ABSTRACT Aims The aim of this in vitro study is to compare the coronal microleakage of three common temporary restorative materials, namely Coltosol, Compoglass, and Zonalin, used in pediatric dentistry after endodontic treatment at different time intervals (1 week, 1, and 2 months) using dye penetration. Materials and methods Access cavities were prepared in 72 intact extracted premolar teeth. The samples were divided into three groups (n = 24) and filled with Coltosol, Compoglass, or Zonalin. After thermal cycling for 500 cycles (5–55°C), the teeth were immersed in 1% methylene blue dye at 37°C for 1 week (n = 8), 1 month (n = 8), and 2 months (n = 8). The samples were sectioned buccolingually, and the linear depth of dye penetration was measured using a stereomicroscope at 16 × magnification. The data were analyzed using Kruskal–Wallis test. Results There were no significant differences in the microleakage values of Coltosol and Zonalin or Zonalin and Compoglass groups at 1 week (p > 0.05) or 1 month (p > 0.05) intervals, but a significant difference was noted between Coltosol and Compoglass groups (p < 0.01); Coltosol provided a more favorable coronal seal. No significant difference was found among the experimental groups at the 2-month interval (p > 0.05). Conclusion At 1 week or 1 month of use, Coltosol showed better coronal seal. At 2 months, there was no significant difference apparent between the groups. A longer time lapse was associated with an increased likelihood of microleakage. Aim: To evaluate and compare the linear dimensional stability of two commercially available BD IMPRESS and NEXUS MEDODENT thermoplastic impression materials. A total of 90 samples in which 45 s Methodology: amples of BD Impress and Nexus medodent impession materials were used for evaluation of linear dimensional stability of these newly introduced thermoplastic impression materials. The samples were rst checked under toolmaker microscope for reproduction of three parallel lines x,y,z. The measurements were made on the samples at 0 (within 24 hours), 7th and 14th day respectively to assess the linear dimensional stability. According to the study conducted and results obtained, it Result: was concluded that NEXUS MEDODENT was superior in linear dimensional stability on comparison with BD IMPRESS impression material Conclusion: On comparison with BD impress, nexus medodent impression material was superior in terms of linear dimensional stability. There is a need for further studies to know about other properties of these thermoplastic impression materials to enhance knowledge and for clinical application as indicated by manufacturers.

Summary1. Separated leukocytes or total blood from normal subjects, untreated leukaemic patients and from leukaemic patients treated with cytostatic agents were incubated with CH3COONa-l-C14. Radioactivity of mixed lipids was measured at standard time intervals.2. The time incorporation curve observed with leukocytes from treated leukaemic patients showed after an initial linear part, a more rapid levelling off than the curves observed with leukocytes from untreated and normal subjects.3. Therefore, an indirect effect of treatment on leukocyte lipid synthesis seems to be present.4. Phospholipid and neutral lipid synthesis by leukaemic leukocytes was also studied. The results give no evidence that these fractions as a whole have any precursor-product relation.
