To advance from the internal approach to assessing effectiveness of a new system (based on a set of indicators that often are not sufficiently grounded) to the external, much more objective, approach, when this assessment is made based on the results of functioning a new system as part of a metasystem, it is proposed to supplement the emerging Internet of Things (IoT) with a new sector – the Internet of Models of Things (IoMoT), that is, to implement the transition from the IoT to the IoTaM (Internet of Things and Models). This will allow developers of new devices and systems to justify safety from inclusion in the existing environment by analyzing their relationships with previously specified components.

Data has become an asset with a big financial impact. With the extensive use of the Internet which “never forgets”, society has become more transparent than ever. Society also creates more data than ever. The increase of data creation is further catalysed by new technologies and connected devices; it is often referred to as the “internet of things” or “IoT-devices”. But who owns the date created by these new devices? This article aims to give a brief overview of possible rules governing data ownership. Also, it stresses the question whether or not the current legal framework sufficiently protects said data or if a new law should be implemented.

This paper covers the aspects of implementation of the Internet of Things concept into airport operations. It suggests areas that would be closely related to the Internet of Things. These areas mainly concern the handling of passengers or baggage and would be able to speed up the whole process significantly. The second part concerns the increase of passenger comfort by providing various information during their stay at the airport. This new system could significantly improve the quality of travel. In the last part, this paper discusses options for implementation of the concept at various selected airports. It includes information on readiness of these airports for digital transformation and availability of the digital tools for such a transformation.

This paper presents a new system in which automatic Vision Alignment was applied to the Internet of Things (IoT) production line to solve the problem of automatic assembling of screws and iron plates with holes. The position of screw holes are searched for by Machine Vision and transmitted to the robotic arm so that it could insert screws into holes. During this process, a swarm intelligence algorithm – Adaptive Multi-elite Wolf Pack Algorithm (AMWPA) – was used to recognize the holes. The experimental results show that the algorithm succeed in recognizing holes and has better global convergence and computational robustness.

The existing stand-alone multimedia machines and online multimedia machines in the market have certain deficiencies, so they cannot meet the actual needs. Based on this, this research combines the actual needs to design and implement a multi-media system based on the Internet of Things and cloud service platform. Moreover, through in-depth research on the MQTT protocol, this study proposes a message encryption verification scheme for the MQTT protocol, which can solve the problem of low message security in the Internet of Things communication to a certain extent. In addition, through research on the fusion technology of the Internet of Things and artificial intelligence, this research designs scheme to provide a LightGBM intelligent prediction module interface, MQTT message middleware, device management system, intelligent prediction and push interface for the cloud platform. Finally, this research completes the design and implementation of the cloud platform and tests the function and performance of the built multimedia system database. The research results show that the multimedia database constructed in this paper has good performance.

This paper discusses the organisations involved in the development of application standards, European regulations and best practice guides, their scope of work and internal structures. It considers their respective visions for the requirements for future standardisation work and considers in more detail those areas where these overlap, namely human centric or integrative lighting, connectivity and the Internet of Things, inclusivity and sustainability.

The economic diversification concept gives hope for a country with rich natural resources to strengthen its economic basis. Thus industrial revolution era of 4.0 provides great opportunity to fasten the process. A study by McKensey in 2011 proved that the internet in the developing country contributes around 3.4% towards its GDP which means that the internet has become a new hope for the economy in the future. Indonesia is one of the countries that is attempting to maximize the role of the Internet of Things (IoT) for its economic growth. The attempt has made the retail and tourism industries as the two main sectors to experience the significant effect of IoT. In the process of optimizing the IoT to support the economic growth, Indonesia faces several issues especially in the term of the internet network quality and its distribution, the inclusive access of financial access and the infrastructure
