Throughout the years many have argued about different definitions for DSS; however they have all agreed that in order to succeed in the decision-making process, companies or individuals need to choose the right software that best fits their requirements and demands. The beginning of business software extends back to the early 1950s. Since the early 1970s, the decision support technologies became the most popular and they evolved most rapidly (Shim, Warkentin, Courtney, Power, Sharda, & Carlsson, 2002). With the existence of decision support systems came the creation of decision support software (DSS). Scientists and computer programmers applied analytical and scientific methods for the development of more sophisticated DSS. They used mathematical models and algorithms from such fields of study as artificial intelligence, mathematical simulation and optimization, and concepts of mathematical logic, and so forth.

Clinical decision support systems are meant to improve the quality of decision-making in healthcare. Artificial intelligence is the science of creating intelligent systems that solve complex problems at the level of or better than human experts. Combining artificial intelligence methods into clinical decision support will enable the utilization of large quantities of data to produce relevant decision-making information to practitioners. This article examines various artificial intelligence methodologies and shows how they may be incorporated into clinical decision-making systems. A framework for describing artificial intelligence applications in clinical decision support systems is presented.

Tourism is currently very potential to be developed as a source of local income by providing information both online and offline to the community so that regional income increases. Bali is one of the tourist destinations in Indonesia which is visited by many local and foreign tourists. The island of Bali has many interesting sights consisting of natural attractions, royal festivals, culinary tours, traditional markets, and museums. There are many criteria that must be considered, so through this recommendation system, tourists can find out what places are in Bali they will visit. One of the problems of decision making with many criteria and attributes in the selection of attractions is to provide detailed decisions that refer to the scale of weight possessed. Decision support systems provide priority results of attractions that are suitable for every traveler. Traveling is very important because with tourism we can eliminate fatigue due to activity during the day. The selection of the right tourist attraction also affects this, so it is necessary to choose the right tourist attraction. This study focused on the application of multi-attribute decision making (MADM) to decision support systems (SPK) using preferred organizational methods for enrichment and evaluation (Promeethe). When a traveler fills out a questionnaire, he must be consistent with the answers to get the best results based on his willingness and characteristics. This research uses descriptive analysis method that presents a summary of the results of surveys and interviews of tourists who want to choose Bali tourist attractions according to costs, security, natural beauty, facilities, and infrastructure and location.

This article develops the notion of decisional episodes as a basis for understanding ways in which decisions can be supported. Grounded in and aligned with knowledge management (KM) theory, the resultant perspective on decision support can guide researchers in the generation of research ideas and designs. It can also contribute to practitioners by suggesting architectures and functionalities to consider in the course of developing decision support systems, and by suggesting key issues to resolve in the course of deploying and evaluating a portfolio of decision support systems. Broadly speaking, knowledge management is concerned with efforts to ensure that the right knowledge is available to the right processors at the right time in the right representations for the right cost in order to foster right relationships, decisions, and actions with respect to an entity’s mission. These efforts unfold in various contexts such as designing, communicating, researching, and decision making. Our focus here is on the latter.

This article aimed to identify relationships between Big Data and Decision Support Systems. For this, we conducted a search in the Scopus database and as a result, we identified a report according to the increased frequency of publications, frequency of publications in journals and, using the VOSviewer software, we performed an analysis of words co-citation. We identified 5 groups of keywords that suggest different areas of study (e.g., logistics, health and social media), as well as a more recent focus on studies aimed at sustainable development, machine learning, analytical techniques and decision-making processes decision. An important contribution that should also be highlighted was the strong relationship between the keywords Big Data, artificial intelligence and decision making, suggesting studies involving the three terms in a large number of works.

Virtually everyone has to make hundreds of decisions every day in his day-to-day life. “Good decision making” means we are informed and have relevant and appropriate information on which to base our choices among alternatives. Decision support systems are emerging as a very powerful tool for making rational decision based on various sources of information. In this chapter, the authors attempt to understand how the intelligent decisions are required for any successful endeavour. In this complex world where information explosion has good and bad news, both finding analysing the adequate information is a tedious task that always requires expert advice. In today's digitalised world, various programs are designed especially for the education sector, which helps both the learner and tutor. Technology can reduce time to make decisions for the fussy or confused learner, thereby providing assistance.

The reception of journalists at the Waspada Daily Medan always went through several rigorous selections before being determined to be accepted as journalists at the Waspada Medan Daily. There are several criteria that must be possessed by each participant as a condition for becoming a journalist in the Daily Alert Medan. To get the best participants, the Waspada Medan Daily needed a decision support system. Decision Support Systems (SPK) are part of computer-based information systems (including knowledge-based systems (knowledge management)) that are used to support decision making within an organization or company. Decision support systems provide a semitructured decision, where no one knows exactly how the decision should be made. In this study the authors applied the VlseKriterijumska Optimizacija I Kompromisno Resenje (VIKOR) as the method to be applied in the decision support system application. The VIKOR method is part of the Multi-Attibut Decision Making (MADM) Concept, which requires normalization in its calculations. The expected results in this study can obtain maximum decisions. Keywords: Journalist Acceptance, Decision Support System, VIKOR
