Security-Aware Routing Protocol Based on Artificial Neural Network Algorithm and 6LoWPAN in the Internet of Things

Today, with increasing information technology such as the Internet of Things (IoT) in human life, interconnection and routing protocols need to find optimal solution for safe data transformation with various smart devices. Therefore, it is necessary to provide an enhanced solution to address routing issues with respect to new interconnection methodologies such as the 6LoWPAN protocol. The artificial neural network (ANN) is based on the structure of intelligent systems as a branch of machine interference, has shown magnificent results in previous studies to optimize security-aware routing protocols. In addition, IoT devices generate large amounts of data with variety and accuracy. Therefore, higher performance and better data handling can be achieved when this technology incorporates data for sending and receiving nodes in the environment. Therefore, this study presents a security-aware routing mechanism for IoT technologies. In addition, a comparative analysis of the relationship between previous approaches discusses with quality of service (QoS) factors such as throughput and accuracy for improving routing mechanism. Experimental results show that the use of time-division multiple access (TDMA) method to schedule the sending and receiving of data and the use of the 6LoWPAN protocol when routing the sending and receiving of data can carry out attacks with high accuracy.

Mapping the quantity, quality and structural indicators of Asian (48 countries and 3 territories) research productivity on cloud computing

PurposeThe purpose of this study was to map the quantity (frequency), quality (impact) and structural indicators (correlations) of research produced on cloud computing in 48 countries and 3 territories in the Asia continent.Design/methodology/approachTo achieve the objectives of the study and scientifically map the indicators, data were extracted from the Scopus database. The extracted bibliographic data was first cleaned properly using Endnote and then analyzed using Biblioshiny and VosViewer application software. In the software, calculations include citations count; h, g and m indexes; Bradford's and Lotka's laws; and other scientific mappings.FindingsResults of the study indicate that China remained the most productive, impactful and collaborative country in Asia. All the top 20 impactful authors were also from China. The other most researched areas associated with cloud computing were revealed to be mobile cloud computing and data security in clouds. The most prominent journal currently publishing research studies on cloud computing was “Advances in Intelligent Systems and Computing.”Originality/valueThe study is the first of its kind which identified the quantity (frequencies), quality (impact) and structural indicators (correlations) of Asian (48 countries and 3 territories) research productivity on cloud computing. The results are of great importance for researchers and countries interested in further exploring, publishing and increasing cross country collaborations related to the phenomenon of cloud computing.

Daily Living Activity Recognition In-The-Wild: Modeling and Inferring Activity-Aware Human Contexts

Advancement in smart sensing and computing technologies has provided a dynamic opportunity to develop intelligent systems for human activity monitoring and thus assisted living. Consequently, many researchers have put their efforts into implementing sensor-based activity recognition systems. However, recognizing people’s natural behavior and physical activities with diverse contexts is still a challenging problem because human physical activities are often distracted by changes in their surroundings/environments. Therefore, in addition to physical activity recognition, it is also vital to model and infer the user’s context information to realize human-environment interactions in a better way. Therefore, this research paper proposes a new idea for activity recognition in-the-wild, which entails modeling and identifying detailed human contexts (such as human activities, behavioral environments, and phone states) using portable accelerometer sensors. The proposed scheme offers a detailed/fine-grained representation of natural human activities with contexts, which is crucial for modeling human-environment interactions in context-aware applications/systems effectively. The proposed idea is validated using a series of experiments, and it achieved an average balanced accuracy of 89.43%, which proves its effectiveness.

Adaptation of Fire-Fighting Systems to Localization of Fires in the Premises: Review

Fire protection is a basic safety issue for all categories of buildings. The criteria for effective fire suppression and the characteristics of extinguishing systems in insulated areas depend on a combination of factors. The main influences include the type of combustible material, ambient temperature, type of spray extinguisher, air inflow and outflow conditions, and space geometry. This article analyzes the most widely used fire-extinguishing technologies in different locations. The main aspects of using the pulsed delivery technology of extinguishing liquid are considered. Based on the analysis of publications from the last decade, it is possible to develop intelligent systems for recording fires and extinguishing fires in the premises.

Flexible and Stretchable Memristive Arrays for in-Memory Computing

With the tremendous progress of Internet of Things (IoT) and artificial intelligence (AI) technologies, the demand for flexible and stretchable electronic systems is rapidly increasing. As the vital component of a system, existing computing units are usually rigid and brittle, which are incompatible with flexible and stretchable electronics. Emerging memristive devices with flexibility and stretchability as well as direct processing-in-memory ability are promising candidates to perform data computing in flexible and stretchable electronics. To execute the in-memory computing paradigm including digital and analogue computing, the array configuration of memristive devices is usually required. Herein, the recent progress on flexible and stretchable memristive arrays for in-memory computing is reviewed. The common materials used for flexible memristive arrays, including inorganic, organic and two-dimensional (2D) materials, will be highlighted, and effective strategies used for stretchable memristive arrays, including material innovation and structural design, will be discussed in detail. The current challenges and future perspectives of the in-memory computing utilizing flexible and stretchable memristive arrays are presented. These efforts aim to accelerate the development of flexible and stretchable memristive arrays for data computing in advanced intelligent systems, such as electronic skin, soft robotics, and wearable devices.

A Reconstruction Method for Cross-Cut Shredded Documents Based on the Extreme Learning Machine Algorithm

Reconstruction of cross-cut shredded text documents (RCCSTD) has important applications for information security and judicial evidence collection. The traditional method of manual construction is a very time-consuming task, so the use of computer-assisted efficient reconstruction is a crucial research topic. Fragment consensus information extraction and fragment pair compatibility measurement are two fundamental processes in RCCSTD. Due to the limitations of the existing classical methods of these two steps, only documents with specific structures or characteristics can be spliced, and pairing error is larger when the cutting is more fine-grained. In order to reconstruct the fragments more effectively, this paper improves the extraction method for consensus information and constructs a new global pairwise compatibility measurement model based on the extreme learning machine algorithm. The purpose of the algorithm's design is to exploit all available information and computationally suggest matches to increase the algorithm's ability to discriminate between data in various complex situations, then find the best neighbor of each fragment for splicing according to pairwise compatibility. The overall performance of our approach in several practical experiments is illustrated. The results indicate that the matching accuracy of the proposed algorithm is better than that of the previously published classical algorithms and still ensures a higher matching accuracy in the noisy datasets, which can provide a feasible method for RCCSTD intelligent systems in real scenarios.
