Virtual tours using drones enhance the experience the users perceive from a place with cultural interest. Drones equipped with 360o cameras perform real-time video streaming of the cultural sites. The user preferences about each monument type should be considered in order to decide the appropriate flying route for the drone. This article describes a scheme for supporting personalized real-time virtual tours at sites with cultural interest using drones. The user preferences are modeled using the MPEG-21 and the MPEG-7 standards, while Web Ontology Language (OWL) ontologies are used for metadata structure and semantics. The Metadata-Aware Analytic Network Process (MANP) algorithm is proposed in order to weigh the user preferences for each monument type. Subsequently, the Trapezoidal Fuzzy Topsis for Heritage Route Selection (TFT-HRS) algorithm ranks the candidate heritage routes. Finally, after each virtual tour, the user preferences metadata are updated in order in order the scheme to continuously learn about the user preferences.

Constantly faster, mobile terminals are developing, as well as wireless networks, to satisfy the growth of “Always Best Connected” demand. Users nowadays want to access the best available wireless network, either from 3GPP or IEEE group technologies, wherever they are, without losing their sessions. Consequently, mobile terminals must seamlessly transfer the communications to another access technology (vertical handover) if needed, as they often move into heterogeneous wireless environments. This work aims to optimize the network selection step in the vertical handover process. Multiattribute Decision-Making methods naturally fit this context. Nevertheless, they make wrong handover decisions sometimes, due to imprecise data collected from the metrics. This manuscript presents the use of a hybrid method, combining the fuzzy technique for order preference by similarity to the ideal situation and fuzzy analytic network process, in the network selection, to improve the quality of service and avoid, as much as possible, unnecessary handovers. The results demonstrate that this combination is the best, compared to the other methods of the same type in the network selection context.

With the widespread use of computers, in the design world, rule-based design methods, which can work in harmony with computer logic and can be easily adapted to the computer environment, have come to the fore. It is possible to analyze the logic of a design made with the rule-based design method. It is even possible to change the design which is placed on the rule base by removing the rules, in the computer environment, or creating new designs with the same design logic. In this paper, a new hybrid model is proposed based on Interval Type-2 Fuzzy Analytic Network Process (IT2 FANP) and Interval Type-2 Fuzzy TOPSIS (IT2 Fuzzy TOPSIS) for the evaluation of store plan alternatives produced with rule-based design method. The IT2 FANP method is used to determine the weight of criteria determined by experts in the selection of store plan alternatives. Then, the IT2 Fuzzy TOPSIS method is used to obtain the ranking of alternatives with Interval Type-2 trapezoidal fuzzy numbers. The originality of the paper comes from the first-time usage of a hybrid approach based on IT2 FANP and IT2 Fuzzy TOPSIS methodology in the prioritizing of store plan alternatives produced with rule-based design method.

In this chapter, a combined fuzzy multiple criteria decision making (MCDM) methodology for supporting the undesirable location selection process is presented. The undesirable location selection process is formulated by using the fuzzy analytic network process (FANP), one of MCDM methods, which is used to evaluate the most suitable alternatives of undesirable facility locations. Then, the fuzzy TOPSIS (technique for order performance by similarity to ideal solution) is used to rank competing locations in terms of overall performances. Since different alternatives and various quantitative, qualitative, tangible, and intangible criteria should be considered in the selection process, fuzzy MCDM methods have been found to be a useful approach to solve this kind of location selection problems including vagueness and imprecision in the human judgments.

Due to ever-increasing trend in outsourcing information technology projects in today's competitive world, the risk management in information technology outsourcing (ITO) projects is a challenging issue. Hence, this paper reviews and extracts present corresponding risks by literature review to implement risk management in ITO. After reviewing a number of frameworks in the literatures related to prioritizing of extracted risk factors, a new framework is presented to determine the priority of them. Because of network structure of the proposed framework and multi-dimensional nature of the project risk, the fuzzy analytic network process (fuzzy ANP) is applied to prioritize risk factors. Also, since identifying and prioritizing of risk factors cannot necessarily meet the organization's needs related to the project risk, the ways to respond to these factors are evaluated. For this purpose, responses to the five highest ranked risk factors are considered. Prioritization of responses to these risk factors is done by applying fuzzy technique for order preference by similarity to ideal solution (fuzzy TOPSIS) based on four criteria: quality, cost, time, and scope. Results, achieved from experts' judgment, show that the risk factor "Supplier's lack of expertise with an IT operation" is the most significant. Also, the best response for this factor, is "Review of monetary value and volume of suppliers' contracts prior to their selection" according to experts' point of view. In addition, a sensitivity analysis is carried out for validating the results.
