Cloud computing has revolutionized the IT world by its benefits. Cloud users can take relational and non-relational databases in the form of services or can run their own database on computing resources provided by the cloud. With evolution of cloud, new challenges are emerging, and the responsibility of the professional is to provide solution to these challenges. Dynamic pricing of computing resources in the cloud is now widely acceptable by its users. But in the current market of cloud, reverse auction (a mechanism to implement dynamic pricing) is not getting the attention from professionals that it deserves. This work is an effort to identify the facts in the cloud market that are responsible for current condition of reverse auction. In this work, from the identified limitations of current cloud market and case study on existing model for reverse auction in cloud, one can observe that coalition of small cloud providers with common interoperability standard in reverse auction is a feasible solution to encourage cloud market for adapting reverse auction-based resource allocation.

Market-oriented reverse auction is an efficient and cost-effective method for resource allocation in cloud workflow systems since it can dynamically allocate resources depending on the supply-demand relationship of the cloud market. However, during the auction the price of cloud resource is usually fixed, and the current resource allocation mechanisms cannot adapt to the changeable market properly which results in the low efficiency of resource utilization. To address such a problem, a dynamic pricing reverse auction-based resource allocation mechanism is proposed. During the auction, resource providers can change prices according to the trading situation so that our novel mechanism can increase the chances of making a deal and improve efficiency of resource utilization. In addition, resource providers can improve their competitiveness in the market by lowering prices, and thus users can obtain cheaper resources in shorter time which would decrease monetary cost and completion time for workflow execution. Experiments with different situations and problem sizes are conducted for dynamic pricing-based allocation mechanism (DPAM) on resource utilization and the measurement of Time⁎Cost (TC). The results show that our DPAM can outperform its representative in resource utilization, monetary cost, and completion time and also obtain the optimal price reduction rates.

Cloud computing is a delivery model of IT resources such as computing servers, storage, databases, networking and software over the Internet. It offers the resources as services based on demand with more faster, flexible and economies of scale. The major challenges in the cloud computing are resource allocation and workload management due to the scalability of the cloud users and the services deployed in it. Even though there are various approaches available to manage workload and resource allocation, unfortunately most of them fail to mange it properly. This paper proposes a Reinforcement Learning based Enhanced Resource Allocation and Workload Management (RL-ERAWM) approach to increase the performance of cloud with large number of tasks and users. It implements the Q-Learning approach which effectively considers arrival rate of the requests and workload of the virtual machine. Experimental results prove that the proposed method alleviates the performance of task scheduling and workload management process compared with other approaches in terms of response time, makespan and virtual machine utilization.

This chapter introduces Elastic Management of Tasks in Virtualized Environments (EMOTIVE), which is the Barcelona Supercomputing Center (BSC)’s IaaS open-source solution for Cloud Computing. EMOTIVE provides users with elastic fully customized virtual environments in which to execute their applications. Further, it simplifies the development of new middleware services for managing Cloud systems by supporting resource allocation and monitoring, data management, live migration, and checkpoints. These features and its facility to be extended and configured make EMOTIVE especially appropriate to support research on Cloud Computing scenarios. Offering functionality comparable to its commercial counterparts allows EMOTIME to be used on production to set up small Cloud platforms.

Cloud computing is on demand as it offers dynamic flexible resource allocation for reliable and guaranteed services in pay as-you-use manner to public. In Cloud computing multiple cloud users can request number of cloud services simultaneously. So there must be a provision that all resources are made available to requesting user in efficient manner to satisfy their need. Hence there is no need for getting licenses for individual products. Virtual Machine (VM) technology has been employed for resource provisioning. It is expected that using virtualized environment will reduce the average job response time as well as executes the task according to the availability of resources. Effective and dynamic utilization of the resources in cloud can help to balance the load and avoid situations like slow run of systems.

In this 21st Century technology extent of time and worldwide integration, various narrow and medium enterprises exist adopting cloud calculate for their trade operations. Cloud calculate exist an increasing information in visible form Centre technology in accordance with the becoming more intense traffic connected to the internet fashionable the period of the Internet of Things (IoT). These electronics outwit the defect of conventional servers for speed, scalability and effectiveness. However, skilled exist still narrow enterprises that exist undecided of the appropriate of cloud computing time in military operation fashionable trade movement. Thus, this paper is inscribed to survey the views of person who is very involved in education and learning about the benefits of cloud computing rite of a fashionable trade movement that motivate bureaucracy to legally care for business enterprise. The aims of the study include to ascertain the benefits of cloud to small-scale enterprises in India, to determine the challenges facing cloud users and to unravel the strategies that can improve the strategic growth of cloud users in India enterprises.  The researcher used a case study design and a qualitative research approach. The place of the study is Chandigarh University of India and Busy Network company in India.
