Effect of Necessary Factors for Deploying E-Business Models on Business Performance in Automotive Industry

The main goal of this article is to survey effects of necessary factors for deploying e-business models on business performance in automotive industry. Today, application of information technology and internet in business is turned to a critical tool to gain competitive advantages in business. The impact of e-businesses is so that changed competitive approach between companies from traditional to modern models. In this study, first, necessary key factors of implementing e-business in automotive industry are identified. Then different aspects of performance evaluation in automotive industry are recognized. After identifying the different aspects of e-business and business performance, effect of necessary aspects for implementing e-business on business performance are studied. Recognition of different aspects in the field of study is based on confirmatory factor analysis and then type of each determined aspects with business performance is surveyed using correlation analysis. Findings of this study shows positive relationship between necessary aspects of implementing e-business on both aspects of operational and general indexes of business performance evaluation.

Recognition of different aspects in the field of study is based on confirmatory factor analysis and then type of each determined aspects with business and supply chain performance is surveyed using correlation analysis. Findings of this study shows positive relationship between necessary aspects of implementing e-business on both aspects of operational and general indexes of business performance evaluation. Also, we will study the relation of every identified aspect with the performance of the supply chain in the auto industry. Also, Findings show that the necessary factors for implementing the e-business shall have the highest degree of correlation with the operational aspects of supply chain performance evaluation criteria.

Abstract The impact of gender diversity on business performance has been featured prominently on the agenda of many politicians and business leaders in recent years. However, empirical results of the impact of gender diversity on firm performance have been ambiguous. This paper contributes to the literature by using propensity score-based estimation techniques on a large sample of UK firms to analyse the performance effect of appointing a first female board director. We look at financial and non-financial performance indicators and document significant effects on firm growth and labour cost efficiency, but rather fragile ones on accounting returns, such as profitability. We also document evidence of another threshold effect; namely, gender diversity appears to have its highest impact (its ‘ceiling’) when the proportion of female directors is approximately 30%. Carrying out a sensitivity analysis, we conclude that hidden bias must be implausibly high to be able to attribute the beneficial effects of boardroom gender diversity to unmeasured confounding.

PurposeVocational higher education and skills are recognised as key factors in shaping an economy to adapt to fast-emerging business models that disrupt workplace behaviours. Employers require graduates to be “work-ready”, emphasising the need to demonstrate resilience, as a critical desired behaviour (CBI, 2019). This case study shares the integrated curriculum design, co-creation and operationalisation of “Graduate Transitions” workshops that were piloted in a compulsory final-year module across a number of programmes in a higher education institutions’ business faculty to enhance graduates “work readiness”.Design/methodology/approachThe collaboration and leadership thinking of industry professionals, academics and career consultants designed and co-created a workshop that enhances transitioning student resilience and prepares them for their future of work. Action research gathered data using a mixed-methods approach to evaluate student and stakeholder feedback.FindingsEvidence indicates that the workshops actively embed practical coping strategies for resilience and mindful leaders in transitioning graduates. It assures employers that employability and professional practice competencies are experienced by transitioning graduates entering the future workplace.Research limitations/implicationsLimitations to this research are clearly in the methodology and concentrating on the co-creation of an innovative curriculum design project instead of the tools to accurately evaluate the impact in a systematic manner. There was also limited time and resource to design a more sophisticated platform to collect data and analyse it with the imperative academic rigour required. Emphasis on piloting and operationalisation of the intervention, due to time and resource restrictions, also challenged the methodological design.Practical implicationsThe positive feedback from these workshops facilitated integration into the curriculum at an institution-wide level. This paper shares with the academic community of practice, the pedagogy and active learning design that could be customised within their own institution as an intervention to positively influence the new metrics underpinning graduate outcomes.Originality/valueThis pioneering curriculum design ensures that employability and professional practice competencies are experienced by graduates transitioning to the workplace.

Banks have seen a convergence in end-customer banking interactions over the last decade, owing to IT-enabled solutions and services such as Core Banking, Online Banking, Mobile Banking, Wallet, Wallets Kiosk Banking. The evolution of IT in the banking industry supports both banks and their clients. Banks' business models are now centered on delivering consumer joy via IT-enabled solutions and services. Cloud technology allows banks to follow a digital paradigm for providing novel channels, reducing TAT to market new offerings, fulfilling consumer expectations, and adhering to regulatory requirements at a lower cost. In constantly evolving technical paradigms, cloud-based solutions offer a higher value proposition to IT solutions and services. Device administrators can remotely assemble, upload, customize, and execute virtual tools to manage a business solution using cloud infrastructure. Furthermore, cloud IT technology can be scaled up or down at any time based on planned use and specifications without incurring high costs. To assess the impact of cloud computing and artificial intelligence in operational and service advantage Confirmatory factor analysis (CFA) technique is used. The thesis demonstrates how well the measured variables reflect the number of constructs and whether the estimation hypothesis is confirmed or rejected.

Abstract: The purpose of the study was to explore the impact of electronic commerce on business performance with specific focus on business organisations in Harare, Zimbabwe. This was achieved through investigating the relationship between e-commerce investment and indicators of business performance such as cost operations, service operations and profit levels. A structured questionnaire was developed and administered to 40 respondents from 10 e-commerce organisations. The study revealed that there was a positive relationship between e-commerce investment and business performance. It was revealed that an investment in e-commerce by organisations in Zimbabwe would increase profit levels, improve service operations and reduce transaction costs. The researchers recommended that organisations that have already adopted e-commerce should raise customer awareness and interest in e-commerce and promote the usage of the technology. They also recommended that policy makers such as the Government must take a leading role in the funding of education and the development of infrastructure in order to encourage more organizations and consumers to participate in e-commerce.Keywords: E-commerce, Business performance, Business organisations, Service operations, Cost operations

The hospitality industry is major service sector in most of developed and developing countries in the world economy, and nowadays many hotels implemented e-commerce for their business models and gained great advantages and increase profitability. This study aims to examine the impact of firm size and e-commerce usage on business performance of hospitality industry in general and hotels in Libya in particular. A quantitative approach was applied on hotel industry in Libya, mainly those hotels that have previous practices and experience with e-commerce. The results shows that small and medium size firms in hospitality industry in Libya are facing similar challenges and obstacles to other small businesses when establishing e-commerce website, and also shows a strong relationship between e-commerce usage and business performance, and high increase in profitability when hotels implement e-commerce and start to conduct online booking

It is hypothesised that a positive relationship exists between the financial performance of an organisation and the level of intrapreneurship within the organisation with causation running from entrepreneurship to financial outcomes. Using a three-factor key intrapreneurship model developed by Goosen, De Coning and Smit (2002) and financial outcomes from a sample of companies listed in the industrial sector of the Johannesburg Stock Exchange, this proposition is put to the test. The results support the hypothesis that the key factors innovativeness, proactiveness and management’s internal influence all significantly contribute to financial performance if regarded individually, but that the last factor dominates the first two external factors when used simultaneously. The conclusion underscores the importance of the impact of leadership on financial outcomes.

The issue of agribusiness represents at the present a challenge for management due to the evolution of technology, the market and particularly the changing needs of consumers. Entrepreneurial orientation is a strategy that positively influences the performance of business, however in the study of this relationship, the results are still inconsistent since a group of scholars in the subject noted that the strength of the relationship changes according to the context is empirically evaluated. The study contributes to evaluate the strength of the relation of entrepreneurial orientation and business performance in the context of 81 small and medium agribusinesses of Aguascalientes, México. The data are analyzed by structural equations and the results indicate that entrepreneurial orientation has a strong positive relationship in the performance of agribusiness.
